Panting. Heavy panting and pathetic attempts to breathe are all that could be heard in the dingy alleyway that Kid now rested in. How he got there was another story.

Today's heist was really simple. At least it was supposed to be. The shrunken detective was in bed resting due to a bad cold, the London detective's plane had delayed so there was no way he could reach the heist in time and the hot-blooded detective simply didn't want to do anything with 'bastards that run around in clothes that say shoot me'. The gem was neither too big nor too small to be Pandora either so it was supposed to be relaxing. Keyword: supposed to be. What nobody expected was for a person with a grudge and a gun to show up at the heist.

The person held a grudge against Nakamori keibu who had arrested his brother, his only family. The person had aimed for Nakamori keibu during the chase but Kid had caught sight of it and threw himself in the way.

Flashback ~

The heist was going as energetic as usual. Yelling and cussing with traps going off wherever you look. Aah! What a perfect Kid heist. Nakamori keibu and a few officers were chasing Kid when suddenly someone yelled,

"Nakamori keibu! I will take revenge on you for putting my brother in jail!" said the person who was supporting a black coat and black trousers with a gun pointing right at Ginzo's face. Everybody froze. All of a sudden the man shot right at keibu but what happened next made everyone's blood run cold.

Kid protected Ginzo and was shot in the stomach!

Nobody could move until keibu snapped out of it and yelled "Kid!! What are you doing? Catch that guy!!"
The officer's words snapped everyone out of it and the guy was caught in a minute by the task force.

"Kid..." Ginzo said slowly to the thief lying a few feet away from him, bleeding out and writhing on the floor in misery. He knew Kid could still easily escape them if he tried to come closer. The thief was like an injured and fragile animal, come closer and it will run away. And the thief seemed too vulnerable and miserable right now,  he couldn't let the guy just leave injured!!

"Kid are you okay? " he took a testing step towards him and as a result Kid dragged himself a bit farther.

"Hehehe... I'm okay keibu. It'll take a whole lot more than to kill me" the thief tried to sound convincing but the voice was trembling and so was his body so it came merely as a weak whine. Ginzo frowned.

"Look Kid, you need to let us help you" tried Ginzo again but Kid shakes his head and the movement brought out a little hiss from him.

"I'll be fine..." Then Kid shakily stood up and keibu was ready to catch him if he falls. Kid faltered but everybody knew that Kid would rush if anybody came near him and that would only aggravate the injury even more.

Slowly Ginzo took one more testing step toward him but Kid flinched at that and hissed at him like an angry animal. Ginzo gulped and took a step backward. Kid nodded slightly as if saying 'good, that's better'.

Kid raised his cape and smoke released from everywhere.

"Kid!! " Ginzo yelled trying to see something through the smoke.

"I shall be taking my leave then. See you next illusion!"

"Wait!! " Ginzo's calls fell to empty ears as the thief was no longer there as well as the blood on the floor. 

"Everyone start searching for Kid!"

Hakuba Saguru was furious when he was informed of what had happened. That idiot thief was shot and could very well be bleeding out right now in some dingy alleyway!! He had started searching for Kid when he was informed of this. Currently, he was in a lonely neighborhood with abandoned buildings searching for the great Kaitou Kid with Baaya. The reason he was here was that he was sure that a vulnerable kid would go to some lonely place at such a time.
He was looking everywhere until he heard it. Frantic breathing. He made a mad dash towards where he heard it and found a sight that was not good, to say the least. Kaitou Kid lying in the dingy alleyway (just like he thought) and bleeding out all over the place.

"Kid!!" he yelled and quickly made his way to the idiot sprawled out on the floor.

He could clearly see that the other was in no position to get out of there alive since too much blood had already lost. He called for Baaya to help while trying to keep the other awake.

"Hey! Hey! Stay awake okay?! I need you to stay awake for me!" the detective tried to keep the other awake by tapping his cheeks too. No response. "Hey! listen to me! Come on!". He tried checking for a pulse, it was there but weak. First, he needed to stop the bleeding then get him some medical help. His calls worked when the other looked at him weakly. 

"Haku-" Kid's words were cut off when he suddenly started coughing blood.

Hakuba frowned. Coughing blood meant the lung was injured. He tried to pick the thief up but the other flinched away. 

"Hey! You need to let us help you! Barou!"

The other shook his head. "n-no...hospital"

"Fine then but at least let us help you. Baaya please ready the car and call Dr.Kalos!" Baaya nodded and hurried off.

The thief gave him a betrayed and disappointed look, to which in return Hakuba shrugged and said, "What did you think? That I'd let you go and let you die like this or I'd treat you myself?" he chuckled and continued, "Don't worry Dr.Kalos is a good friend. He can keep secrets." When he completed his sentence he saw the thief was starting to doze off again. As subtlely as he could, he picked the other up but froze as the thief let out a whimper and a sharp hiss. They couldn't move him too much in danger of harming the other more, so they had to be gentle but fast. 

They somehow got the thief in the car and drove to the Hakuba residence where Dr.Kalos was waiting for them. Dr's face went agape like a fish when he saw Kid and the extent of his injury. Dr.Kalos had the thief put in the room with the medical equipment and then shooed Hakuba out.

A few hours later when Dr. Kalos came out the poor guy looked wiped.

"Kid somehow woke up during the stitches and tried to throw a fit so I had to sedate him. Luckily the stitches weren't messed up that bad. He's alright but I'd like to prohibit him from much movement for at least a week. But considering who this is I doubt that'll happen." He muttered the last part but they heard it nonetheless and a small chuckle escaped Hakuba's mouth as he replied,

"Yeah, I doubt that'll happen either but we'll have to try." They walked Dr.Kalos out and at the gate, Baaya said, "We'd like you to keep this a secret for safety reasons". Dr. Kalos paused then smiled and nodded saying he appreciated the thief for being non-violent so he would keep it a secret.

After that Hakub sighed and said, "I'll take care of the idiot while he's here since it's not his fault for getting injured this time." Baaya nodded. 

As they were walking to the room the thief was in, all of a sudden a loud noise came from the room. Hakuba let out a few curse words as he dashed into the room to find Kid on the floor trying to crawl his way out of there. 

"Kid?!" mentioned person paused and snapped his neck his way so fast Hakuba wondered how the other had gotten whiplash. At the moment, they met eyes, Kid collapsed on the floor. Hakuba rushed to his side. Kid collapsed because he ripped out the IVs. Hakuba scoffed as he picked him the other up from the floor, course the other panicked and did that but how he woke up so soon was a mystery to him. He set Kid on the bed and started attaching the IVs to the other's arm. He grabbed a seat next to him to relax. Baaya stood next to him and said,

"I'll go make some tea for you and our guest" she motioned towards where Kid laid unconscious.

"That would be wonderful but make the tea for yourself and a hot chocolate that has too much chocolate and sugar for him. I'm pretty sure he would appreciate that more." Baaya smirked and nodded. She went to make their drinks. When she was gone Hakuba sighed and ran a hand through his hair as he studied the unconscious figure in front of him. His gaze started from the other's feet and at last, when it landed at the face he realized that the monocle laid untouched but the hat or the shadows weren't there to protect his identity. He had a clear view of the other's face. He leaned closer to the face, surely a closer look won't hurt anyone if Kid doesn't know about it, right? He kept leaning closer and closer until he felt Kid's breath on his face and he was pretty sure that if Kid was awake he could've felt his breath on his face. His gaze lingered on the thief's face and then his eyes went towards the other's lips. Oh lord, right now his thoughts were getting hornier by each second he stared at his face. A blush started to form on his cheeks. He heard the faint click of a camera but he couldn't move his eyes from the other's face. Slowly, the thief started to open his eyes. Half-lidded and hazed indigos met gold feeling each other's breath on their face. Slowly, it must've clicked in Kid's face who's face that was, and what was happening when the hazy indigos were replaced with wide indigos and deep blush which even made his ears turn red. Continuous clicks had started coming when the thief had opened his eyes but they had ignored it. An ahem from the doorway brought them out of the trance.

Kid sputtered, "T-tante-tei!!". Hakuba's mind came back to work as he realized in what position they were in.

"I-i was ju-just making s-sure that you weren't dead or s-something" said Hakuba as he suddenly stood up and turned his head away while crossing his arms trying to hide his blush. The thief took this as his cue and tried to escape but Hakuba caught him. "H-hey! Stop moving!" Kid was pinned down.

"Oh look! Baaya's back with tea and hot chocolate! Baaya please bring it in! " said Hakuba trying desperately to change the subject.

"Hot chocolate!!" said Kid in a childish tone but suddenly regretted it as he let out a pained hiss. Hakuba helped Kid sit up but silently cheered over the fast change in subject.

When everyone had been given their drinks Kid sniffed his drink but all he smell was chocolately heaven. When everything was explained, Kid turned a bit red as he started up the last topic again.

"S-so what was th-that all about earlier? Playing moves on me ne, tantei~" Kid was smug again in the last line.

"Why would I do that?! "

"Ooh~ getting all defensive now are we" purred Kid.

"Course not idiot! "

"ok, ok. I'll let the matter drop since now, I owe you for saving my life and I'm truly grateful for the help but I'll be taking my leave now" Kid said as kept his empty cup down.

"You can't do that! "

Kid blinked, "Why not?"

"You shouldn't be moving at all! Don't think about leaving just yet. " Baaya said setting her own empty teacup down.

"No, I can't stay. You've already helped me enough. It will be burden to take care of me." Kid tried to get up but winced as he fell back into the pillows.

"It won't be a burden if you don't pull any pranks." Hakuba smirked. "Plus, you can't even move without support"
Kid smirked and Baaya facepalmed. Hakuba just challenged Kid, and now he was going to do it.

"Then why don't I prove it to you"

"No don't -"
