seven - It Was Doomed From The Start

Her damp brunette locks swift into another direction when turning around. The two guards who were on watch stood in a fair distance with only they're backs turned to her.

She lets out a breath of distress, running a hand through her soft and knotted waves as she dips a toe into the clear flowing river.

The water builds past her leg and soon, half of her bare body was visible in the crystal waters.

The dry stains of her blood that stuck to the flesh of her thighs diminished into little nothings, disappearing within the motioning liquids.

She watches more of the dark colored blood flow from within her, tinting the river from it's limpid streams.

Although the almost crimson color dampened her soothing state, she felt she was able to be free.

She felt prisoned with the prominent ground rules that Marcus or Kane, as everyone prefers to call him, had set.

It was the only reason why she had guards occupying her company in the distance.

But here, in this quiet and isolated conditions, she didn't have to worry about Kane, or the guards, or Bellamy.

'Arkadia wasn't exactly the define term for home. Not when you're pressured with the presence of Bellamy and Raven, or tested by the ambassador or chancellor.'

She leaned her against the soiled cover ground, tempting at ease with the quiet positions.

She lets her body fall deeper within the limits of the river, taking a hold of her breath when doing so.

The tinted color had spread out to further corners of the river that didn't revolve around Brandi's area.

The suns beaming rays rippled from below the surface, as the sounds of the outside world were silenced by the air bubbles slipping past Brandi's pursed lips.

The water was blue and the green leaves at the bottom danced with the current.

Her respiratory didn't give her out as she enjoys more of her time underwater, watching in awe when goosebumps run along all over her glistening skin.

''Brandi!''

She gasp at the abrupt sound, choking in the non filtered water and wailing herself back on to her own two feet.

When returning to surface, she made sure to keep her chest cover with an arm as she coughs back up the water that was now stuck in her system.

''Get Ready! We head back in ten!''

× × ×

''Ah!'' Brandi screams when the burning of her exposed flesh boils from the flames of the lit torch.

Lexa stood in center, watching her wither beneath the feverant bliss that overwhelmed her body and mind.

''Ahh!''

The volume of her screams increase, never silencing when the flame stayed in the same torrid spot.

''It Was One Thing, When You Abandoned You're Home! It Is Another When You Declare A War With The Ice Nation!'' Lexa yells over her screams, mostly talking to her people who stood with mild confusion.

''Lexa! What the hell are you doing?'' Clarke questions staring with wide eyes.

''Over The Years, Our Population Would Decrease Because Of Mount Weather. But What We Did Not Know, Is That The Ice Nation Was Also Doing The Same. Over Several Years Ago, Our Own, Brandi Potter Had Killed One Of The Ice Nation's Profound Leader's! That Is An Act Of War, One That She Had Risked With Multiple Lives That Are Now Gone!''

Others started to murmur around her, shooting her bitter or disapproved glares that Brandi focused on avoiding.

'She only knows half of the truth. I wouldn't be here with a third degree burn on my stomach if I was selfish enough to spill out the rest. But I'm not. I'm altruistic who will risk they're lives for those who I feel is right.'

''Daun ste pleni!'' Lexa commands, waving off Titus to the side.

''Sha heda'' He obeys with a bow of his head, returning to his spot near the sidelines where he kept his flames fueling from the wooden structure.

''Tana wee bin dey lomp awp were yu ge kom flaske. Yu wee nou bay qowe Trikru o aa a Patricide, ba aa a natrona kom biet Skaikru en Trikru.''

Lexa raises her arms, her sword rising with her as she bends her knees.

''Lexa!''

Although the tears kept trailing down her slippery cheeks, Brandi fought the urge of letting any more from falling.

Because this was not only hurting her, but it was killing Bellamy.

She's the source in his life that keeps him on his feet. That keeps him as a fighter. Without her, he'd feel lost.

The feeling of being lost was no stranger to Bellamy. Not when it came to her. It was safe to say that he never wants to feel that feeling ever again.

''Let Me Speak To Her! Please!'' He begs within the sea of the mixed crowd.

If it wasn't for Lexa's henchmen holding him in place, he would've had a gun aimed at the head of Lexa's.

''I show no mercy!'' She returns, not bothering to take a glance back at him or moving from her stilt position.

''Lexa, please'' Clarke pleads with glossy eye's. This wasn't just an ordinary bystander that was born with her on the Ark.

This was a person who held determination, loyalty and courage.

Brandi's a figure no other has seen before, and that's what made her so special. She was precious to the sky people, because given that she was born on the ground, she had emotions. She believed in equality.

She was they're symbol of peace. She balanced out both sides and will risk her life to prove those who are right.

It pain them to see her life end in a matter of seconds.

It makes you really see how valuable life is. How valuable time is.

''Lexa, Please!'' Bellamy pleads again, ignoring the sympathetic stares thrown his way.

He hated how his overwhelming emotions were freeing in front of his people. The people he fooled with a stone hard wall that was labeled keep out.

But Brandi broke down that wall.

She didn't even have to try, because he knew the second he brought her back to camp, he was in trouble.

He was in trouble then, when his head would spin just talking to her and he was in trouble now with his love be faced with the angle of death.

It wasn't until this moment that everyone had truly seen how vulnerable Bellamy Blake can be.

His furious tears streamed past his cheeks and towards the collar of his t-shirt.

His muscles were clenched as he tries to pry of the guards from his touch.

His eye's screamed for lenience, but his face screamed pain.

Abominable pain that he hasn't felt since the day his mother was floated.

''Just Let Me Speak To Her One Last Time! Please!'' He cries.

Brandi instantly locks contact with Bellamy, they're features blurred within the tears that pooled it's sacks.

''Yu gonplei em odon.''

Within the few steps left between the two, the sharp tip of her sword sinks in to her skin.

''Stop!''

Keeping in place, Lexa lets the sword remain it's few inches within her stomach.

''Chit, Indra?''

''I Helped Brandi Kill Nia's Father!''

A gasp spreads around while Lexa pulls the sword out of her system.

''Teik ema dow!''

Bellamy rips himself from the guards and runs his fastest to Brandi's side.

''Teik os'' Titus offers as he watches Bellamy untie the tight knots around her flesh, but he quickly denies.

''I got this'' He snaps.

Titus clenches his jaw and swallows, nodding at his wishes before paying his attention onto Lexa and Indra.

''What are you talking about, Indra?'' Lexa continues to question.

''You were much younger. You had just started walking by the time I sent Brandi out on this expedition. Our group was much weak back then with only five clans and with only five clans, the Ice Nation had plan to take over territory. I couldn't let them take down our future. Since Brandi was born a strong warrior, I figured you couldn't suspect much from a child, so I sent to her to Ice Nation to kill King Daniel'' Indra explains, keeping her content gaze on Brandi as she clung onto Bellamy's side.

Her weak and defeated stare exchange to Lexa's who about mirrored the same reflection. ''We would not be where we are if Brandi didn't succeed.''

Lexa's lowers her stare immensely before turning back to the girl whose tears were leaving more stains on her companions shirt.

''Why did you not call her out?'' She asks in a voice that was barely above a whisper.

Past all the anger in betrayals Brandi can cause Lexa, this was still the person who taught her how to fight and to be a warrior.

Killing her would have never crossed Lexa's mind, until today.

''Indra took me in after my parents..'' She mumbles, but given the silence the audience stood in, it was practically loud enough for the whole field.

''Besides..'' She breathes out, her eyelids too heavy to carry. ''You will need someone as experience as Indra. I wouldn't amount to nothing.''

Lexa shakes her head. ''That is not true. You matter as the rest of my-''

The brief moment has the weak brunette cocking a brow. Why did she stop?

''You matter as the rest of our people.''

Brandi breathes out a smile that barely curved at all. But it was duly noted.

''If there is anything I can do-''

''Please drop the execution.''

Lexa tilts her head to side, confused of her request. ''But I already have.''

''I meant for Indra.''

The Heda turns to her second man who abided her through her young years.

It was an easy request she wasn't going to deny, but her people will not like the quick decision making.

''Done.''

× × ×

Brandi focuses ahead when returning to base, noticing the very obvious stares that lingered on her as she walked past.

She knows that she's the talk of the town, but with extreme experience, this was nothing Brandi couldn't handle.

''She's too good for you'' Octavia mutters as Bellamy, Raven and herself stood near construction of the Ark.

They were planning to turn in a section of the Ark into a garage and another type of room with the additional space.

''Shut up.''

''At least she's talking to you'' Raven snaps, glaring at him with distaste. ''She can't even look me in the eye.''

''I wonder what's going through her mind?'' Octavia murmurs, her orbs shifting to a lower level as Brandi was escorted safely back in the Ark.

Bellamy clenches his jaw. ''You and me both sister.''

Raven slams her hammer against Bellamy's chest before looking up at him. ''Take over, I gotta find Abby.''

Neither Blake siblings question her excuse since pretty much everyone has notice her struggles of walking.

Raven quickly limps past Medical with a breeze, thinking it would be just as easy to get access into Brandi's cell.

That is, until those two guards kept it's profound presence.

''Twiddle dee, twiddle dumb, Marcus wants to talk to you guys. Something about a supply run..'' She prompts with an uneasy lie.

''Why didn't they send a guard?'' One of them questions.

''Because they're all with him. That's why he sent me.''

The two turn to each other with the same perturbed features.

Raven notices this and quickly waves them off. ''Don't worry, he said he's gonna find someone better to take over before you head out.''

The two nod, finding that pretty reasonable within the time span.

Raven sucked in her lips while tapping her fingers anxiously against her thigh as the guards head out of the Ark.

Once they were out of earshot length, Raven ran inside to find Brandi sitting on the floor and leaning her back against the bed.

Her weak orbs shift when Raven enters, purposely remaining the same features she had before entering the room. ''You're not suppose to be in here.''

''I know. But I need to talk to you-''

She cocks a brow. ''No, you don't.''

She stands up from the floor and walks steadily towards the opposite side of the room.

''This is so not fair'' Raven breathes out while reaching for her roots. ''I didn't even know you and Bellamy had anything going on. Yet he gets a slap on the wrist while I'm still left in the dark?''

''I know that you didn't know, Raven'' Brandi prompts, turning on the heel of her foot.

Raven lifts her arms from her side while slightly shaking her head. ''Then why are you making this so difficult?''

They're heads snap back at the door when the same guards came storming in. ''Get out, Raven.''

Raven looks back at Brandi who stood with features that weren't easy to read.

Because at this very moment, she didn't know what or how to feel herself.

''Now, Raven.''

× × ×

Brandi rested her eye's while enjoying the comfortable tranquility that fills the air as Bellamy softly plays with her loose strands.

Neither have spoken to each other since the argument. But they knew well enough that silence were louder than they're words.

'I'm actually too scared to say anything. I'm afraid that if I start to stay something, this little bubble of solitude we're sharing is going to pop and we'll be right back to where we were before Lexa came.'

The two turn towards the door to see Lexa stand almost anxiously in her spot, fiddling with her fingers.

'Speaking of the devil..'

Bellamy takes a stand, blocking Brandi's sight of her as he crosses his arms against his chest. ''What do you want?''

''I only want to speak to her.''

He shakes his head. ''I don't think she wants that.''

Her eye's flutter to the back of her head. ''Bellamy-''

Lexa tilts the head and gains the challenging stare Bellamy was appearing. ''How about let the girl speak for herself?''

Lexa lowers her stare that softens at the sight of Brandi as Bellamy trails his scrutinizing ones on to her.

She reaches out for his hand, holding tightly of his near fingertips and mumbles ''I'll be fine.''

He purses his lips and looks back at the Commander, noticing the glint of cockiness before looking back down at her.

He nods at this, lowering his body to set a lingering kiss on her forehead.

Bellamy leaves in continuing silence, making sure his daggers at Lexa were well aware.

''I don't blame him, you know'' She starts off, still standing in place.

Her head hangs to the side when looking at her, difficult to move the remaining of her body after all the assaults she's taken today.

''I'm honestly surprise that you're talking to me.''

She lifts her hand again, but it reach as high as it was when reaching out for Bellamy's hand.

Lexa took this as a motion to come closer to her, taking a seat where Bellamy was once seated.

''You get knocked down, and get back up. That is what our people stand for at all cost'' She slightly shakes her head. ''I don't blame you for what you did. With what you knew, you thought that the right thing to do was to punish me. I'm not special, so the treatment was as tolerable as any other.''

The corner of Lexa's lip twitch into a smirk. A smirk Brandi couldn't really identified.

Letting out a small chuckle, she rubs the bridge of her nose. ''I was always envious of you're strength. Especially when we were younger. You didn't let pain stop you from you're agenda, and I thought you're expectations were impossible to reach.''

Brandi snorts. ''My expectations..''

Lexa smiles down at her. ''You know what I mean.''

Brandi attains the humorous smirk with a cock brow. ''There is nothing to be jealous of. Because look at what you accomplished; you're the ideal leader of our people and the ones that fell from the sky. At such a young age as well. You've done well, Lexa.''

''You never fail to make me feel better'' She whispers. ''I just wish I could do the same.''

''Oh, I think you had enough of me today'' She mutters, the hint of playfulness laced in her tone.

Lexa rolls her eye's, letting a giggle slip past her lips.

''How are my girls doing?'' Indra questions, smiling down at the two girls who were laughing about.

'Indra raised Lexa and I to be warriors. She was not the easiest person to deal with at first, but in the end she became our idol. Which is why I didn't call her out from the start of the execution. I'd never betray those as to those limits.'

''We're good'' Lexa answers honestly, smiling the same smile she once had as a child. The smile had so much energy that it driven to determination.

Indra walks up from behind Lexa, placing a hand on her shoulder as her admirable smile fades.

''I'm sorry that things went as far as they did, Brandi. Before Lexa had the fight with the queens son, I thought that if I told her what else Nia was after, she'd consider the fight of the death.''

She shook her head. ''By gones, Indra. Unlike Lexa..''

Lexa points a finger at her and nods.

''You know I only thought of what's best. I was looking out for the both of you.''

Lexa stand from her seat and purses her lips. ''I do hope there is no other secrets from beyond this point.''

She shakes her head. ''There isn't, Heda.''

The two smile at each other, pulling each other into a real embrace.

× × ×

Kane had decided to ease some of her lock down by letting her do some work around camp.

Anything other than sitting in a room all day would officially be the highlights of her day.

She was attending the construction over in the soon to be garage area, working on opening up an entrance for vehicles to come and go.

But much to her luck, Bellamy and Raven were working on the same project.

'I know I agreed to take things slow with Bellamy, but it's only been a few days. A few days filled with immense with either immense awkwardness or tension. There was never a in between. Matters were pretty much the same with Raven, but what I am doing to her isn't fair. If I anything, I'd trust her to keep her legs closed more than Bellamy and the fact that I'm treating her like a criminal confuses me as well. But I never felt this way before and life doesn't come with a handbook on how to handle feelings.'

''Brandi!''

She looks up, seeing Raven on a very long handmade ladder.

''I'm coming down. But can you get me that blow torch?''

She nods at this, walking over to a table of various tools listed.

She reached over a corner to reach when someone handed it to her.

She purses her lips when retracting it from Bellamy.

''I thought I-''

''Yeah, I got the memo'' She quickly remarks before heading back over to her little station with Raven.

She was near the ground but sher remained on the ladder to herself the trouble of going all the way back up.

''Thanks'' She partially smiles, ready to climb back up when Brandi stopped her.

''Can we talk?''

Bellamy slowed down his process when eavesdropping on the conversation.

Raven looked absolutely stunned but stammers out ''Uh, yeah. Sure.''

She climbs back down with the blow torch still held in her grip as the two walk away from the work site, Bellamy's orbs following after.

''I don't know'' She blurts out.

Raven furrows her brows and cranes her neck forward. ''What?''

''Earlier, you asked why am I making this so difficult'' She shakes her head. ''I don't know. I don't know what to do anymore, I don't know what anyone is expecting met to do anymore and I just feel so lost. I hate the fact that you two actually done something and I thought-''

Raven pulls her by the shoulders and into an embrace. It was tight enough that the two can feel the assurance.

''I know what you thought. I want you to stop thinking that right now. Because guess what?''

With her head on her shoulder, she shakes it. ''What?''

''Because I'm you're friend, Brandi. I'm not gonna let someone like Bellamy break our bond.''

Bellamy rolls his eyes at this. He didn't like the way Raven was referring to him as just some guy.

''I'm still sorry'' Brandi whispers.

''Don't be..'' She pulls back from the embrace but still holds on to her arms. ''Because I'm sorry.''

Bellamy is smiling at the two from the distance, relieved she was able to forgive her friends.

He just things between them weren't so bad as they are right now.

Raven looks past Brandi, catching Bellamy's gaze and smiles him as well.

A smile of hope.

Brandi turns around to find the Blake boy already staring at her with a bleak smile.

Her lips curve to mirror his features.

'Maybe things won't be so bad...'

× × ×

''Lincoln is one of us, Pike.''

The group turns with aim immediately point at Brandi who was limping her way over to the gates.

As sheepish as this sounds, Brandi was actually out of bed and was looking for Bellamy after a long nap.

But she was here to find him with abolitionist group of grounders.

''Brandi, you're not suppose-''

''I don't wanna hear anything from you'' She nears, pushing her way through idiotic set of peers.

She catches sight of the one that threw a rock at her earlier and her lips grew with a smug smirk ass he now stood by Lincoln's side.

''Sticks and stones can't break me bitch.''

''Get out of the way grounders-''

She grabs a hold of his gun and through the pain, she swings a leg behind his, making sure to kick the back of his ankle in the process as she head butts him with his rifle.

He lays on the ground weaponless, leaving Brandi with her full blown cocky ego.

More aim was landed on her so she did the same to the group.

''Hey! Put The Guns Down!'' He yells at his people.

''No!'' She barks. His head full of mopped curls shake when he turns to her with furrowed brows. ''Let them. Because if you're going to even step a foot out these walls to kill my people, you might as well start with me first.''

Bellamy tilts his, knowing his relationship with him can only turn out the worst from here. ''Brandi-''

She cocks a brow, throwing a major message to not even continue on his train of thoughts.

''So much for the good grounders'' Monty's mother mumbles.

Brandi widens her eyes in amusement, taking a step forward with her aim while the opposing team to a step back. ''Excuse me? You're son would not be alive right now if it wasn't for the help of Lincoln or me.''

''Whose people are you defending here, Lincoln and Brandi?''

''The right ones, clearly'' She sneers again.

''So what are you stopping us for?'' He questions with a mirrored smirk.

''We're not letting you start a war'' Lincoln chimes in.

''We're already at war'' Pike corrects.

''What War?'' She exclaims. ''Just because a group of grounders attacked you people years ago, and again at Mount Weather, does not mean you pin on every single person born on the damn ground!''

''Look at what they did to you today-''

''That Is Irrelevant To Any Of The Matters We Are Discussing!'' She yells, her head pounding at hour irritating this man was being.

And Bellamy was following him?

Pike starts to chuckle dryly. ''It actually does, sweetheart.''

She looks at Bellamy whose focused was sharp at the ground.

Furrowing her brows, she scoffs. ''Are you seriously going to let him talk to me that way?''

He looks back up but continues to avoid her disapproving gaze.

She wraps the strap of her rifle around her back and walks up to him, cupping his face in her petite hands as she tries to make him look at her but he only rips away from her touch.

She could feel her heart ripple when he pushes himself way to increase distance.

She keeps her brow furrow and starts to clench her jaw. ''In case you haven't notice, I wasn't born in space with high technology that had leaders who would kill innocent people for oxygen supplies. I was born down here, where we died for an actual reason. We are treated with fair laws and if it wasn't for the rest of the story, I could have been dead for my crime. Because my people stay true to they're word-''

''That's not what I heard back at Mount Weather'' Pike encounters.

''Considering one of you're own burned an entire village to the ground, trust wasn't the exact term to define sky people'' She hissed.

She turns back to Lincoln and back to the group who were slowly growing intimidated by her.

''All of you are pathetic. You think just because you got guns, you could take down my people..'' She slaps her hands against her thighs. ''Go head, three hundred down but we got more to go. This little army that you got is nothing compared to the twelve clans that we have built up.''

''You think that'll scare us?''

''I think that you're generally a narcissistic ass that's only doing all of this for himself. Because you're just like everyone else here. Sad who wants to fight for someone they lost'' She crosses her arms across her chest and starts to walk closer to Pike, ignoring Bellamy's constant warning to drop they're weapons. ''So let me ask you something, Pike.. Who are you fighting for?''

Pike keeps a brow cock while looking down at her, taking in silence.

''Brandi-''

''Bellamy, I am so done with you right now that you might as well just not talk to me'' She seethes.

''You know actually..'' She starts, turning on the heel of her foot to face him. She pulls the rifle over her body and slams it against his chest. ''Go out there, and we're done.''

Pike snickers from behind. ''You think a relationship matters at this point?''

''I have more power on my pinky than what I'm seeing in front of me'' She remarks, still sharing intent eye contact with Bellamy.

''You know my people are stronger than yours. So if you start this war, I'm not gonna be fighting by your side.''

Bellamy knew that the grounders had a much stronger army with years of training.

But the sky people got a few tricks up they're sleeves.

''All Arkadia Security Personnel, Report To The Main Gate'' A man on the P.A repeats.

Brandi grimaced at a person she wasn't entirely sure if he was the same.
