I am really happy for the income, and I am actually really grateful for my little brother.

He's the best brother ever. He's so sweet, and thoughtful.

I want to buy him a gift.
I haven't been able to get one for him in the previous years.
For his birthday, Christmas... Anything.

But now, I can finally make up for it.
We have a bit of extra to spend it on some stuff.
Or we could save it for education, but we'll worry that at a later time.

The question is, what should I get for Emil?
I find that he's really into crafts and art at the moment.
Maybe he'd like some pencil crayons...?

Hmm... I should really clean the place up a bit more.

Grabbing a cloth, and wiping the tables to perfection, I still pondered about what I should get for him.

I would ask, but I want it to be a surprise.
At the same time, I'm not sure if he would like it...

THE STRUGGLES!!

Anyways, I decided to ask him.

"Emil, we have extra money enough for us to spend on something.
I'm thinking of buying you a gift... Is there anything you would like?"
I asked, while he was reading some book on the couch.

Diverging or something like that.
He must've gotten it from the library.

"No. Not really."

"Seriously, I can get you anything now.
Well... You know what I mean." I sat beside him.

"Lukas... You really don't have to."

"I want to. There are a lot of things in life we don't have to do. We just want to do it."

"I really mean it though. I don't want anything."

"Come on, Emil. Is there absolutely nothing?"

"... Fine. There's one thing."

"What might that be?"

"I want you to be happy." Emil replied.

"And I want the same thing for you."

"Then... If you really want me to be happy, I want you to be happy. It's okay. I really don't want anything.
I'm grateful but..."

He put his book down and hugged me.
This is what I mean by he's so kind and thoughtful.
He's understanding, and that can be rare for younger siblings.

"As long as you're happy, I have everything I want."

I slowly hugged him back.
That was cute but way too cheesy.
