Glares

(Lukas' P.O.V)

It is a regular work day today.
Emil brought a friend over, someone who he has been seeing a lot lately.
His name is Leon, if I remember correctly.
I'm glad that my brother had at least one friend. Even having one is enough.
He normally works as the chef here.
Seeing as he had relations with Arthur, I assumed they both had the same cooking skills. Fortunately, Leon's was edible. Plus, it actually tastes good.
After topping the pastry with a sweet glaze, garnished with blueberries, it was perfect. For our convenience, Emil had decided to plant a blueberry bush in his room somewhere. His room reminds me of a greenhouse with the many plants that are being germinated.

"NOOOOO!" A giggle and a clash was heard from the kitchen. We start in a few minutes...

"What's wrong?" I peaked in. Emil and Leon were covered in flour from head to toe. There were bits of icing on each other's faces. Not only that, but Emil had a blob of sweet icing on his finger, and he gently smeared the other in bright green.

When they realised I was in the kitchen, they immediately stopped, eyes flashing towards me like a deer caught in headlights.

It was rather comedic though, and it was hard to take them seriously. The scene was... Nostalgic in a sense.

"We'll like, get cleaned up now." Leon finally said, shuffling to the side.

"Yup. Me too." Emil responded.

"Better hurry up then. Work is about to start in a few minutes. Gotta look professional!" I said, washing my own hands with soap and water.

I still heard a bit more giggling, and the first customer came in. I scurried over to the cash register.

"Hello! Welcome to Magic Bliss Café! How may I help you?" I asked.

"Just a strawberry smoothie please. This is for to go, right?"

I gave a quick nod then wrote it down on a sheet of paper quickly before pinning it to the bulletin board beside the kitchen room. That's how our café operates.
Work by day, relaxation at night.

Shortly after, a blender could be heard.

"That will be 1.97 dollars."

The customer respectfully gave them their money, and after I handed back the change, more people came in.

It was a simple process, and it was nerve wracking the first few times we did it. After a week though, we were confident with our speech.

Emil took my place at the cash register shortly after, and I went to the customer's tables to get their orders.

The atmosphere got thick and intense the moment Berwald stepped in... I swear, they are glaring at each other, their eyes striking and sharp enough to pierce anyone's hearts. I've never seen that intimidating look on Mathias' face before. It gave me the chills.

I walked over to Mathias' table and his expression immediately changed to the happy-go-lucky guy I know.

"The usual, Mathias?"

"Yup!" He grinned.

I nodded, and wrote down that order as well. After taking Berwald's order, I could see that they were glaring each other down. It's like they were talking telepathically.

That scares me.
