Fight!
"Stupid Dane... Did Mathias show up at all, Emil?"
"He shouldn't have."
And I'm still weirded out by it.
We were doing our chores. We were starting to finish clean up.
"I wonder what happened to him."
"Why? He's just a customer."
"But he comes in every single day no matter what! Aren't you a bit weirded out?"
"..."
I put the dried plates away and sat down on the couch, gesturing for Emil to sit beside me. The couch was in the kitchen, since our living room is where the customers stay.
"Seriously, he comes in every single day of the week with that obnoxious smile and friendly blue eyes." I kept on talking.
"Lukas, you sound like a damsel in distress."
"I AM a damsel in distress, thank you very much. Anyways, where was I? Oh yeah, even if he's sick he'll still come over. He's really persistent. Do you think he got into an accident or something? I'm worried. I don't know why, but I worry for him. Oh, and did you see those bruises-"
"You haven't heard?"
Emil sighed, pinching his forehead. He seemed annoyed.
"Heard of what?"
"So, you mention bruises on Berwald right?"
"Yes."
"What did he tell you?"
"That an idiot claimed something that wasn't theirs...?"
"I guess I have to tell you then... Or at least what I've heard."
"What happened?"
--Flashback---
Mathias stood in front of Berwald, his blue eyes shining hatred in front of the other.
They both glared at each other, and the cloudy sky was not helping the atmosphere look any better.
"You like Lukas. I like Lukas. I don't plan on sharing him." Mathias started off.
Berwald gave a small nod.
"I don't pl'n too either."
"You piss me off. Flirting with him right in front of me. How low can you get?"
"Is it a cr'me to show someone aff'ction? Tell me. Are you his partner? Don't bother lying. I've kn'wn you long enough."
"..." Mathias stayed silent.
Berwald gave a cold smile to the other, relishing the other in silent defeat.
"I don't plan on giving up though!"
"Who sa'd anything about th't?
It'd be a mir'cle if he chose you over me. Let's f'ce it. I am b'tter than you at literally everything."
Mathias snapped at those words.
Everyone was good in their own way.
There will always be someone better than you.
But him saying that he was better then him at absolutely everything?
That was going too far.
Before he could control himself,
A fist collided into the other's intimidating face.
Berwald as flinched a bit but he fought back, trying to put the other in his place.
From the words before, he misinterpreted the message. He had thought that Mathias was saying he was better than him at a fist fight, and making the first move was declaring a challenge.
They just had to rival each other in many things.
Berwald had knocked Mathias out after the dane broke the Swede's glasses.
"SOMEONE, GET A TEACHER HERE!"
Someone had shouted.
They were both hauled to the principal's office.
-------
"Apparently, Berwald got let off easy.
Everyone else was assuming that Mathias is at the nurse's office." Emil finished.
"Dang..."
"News spread fast. I don't think most of it is accurate."
"Who did you hear this from?" Lukas asked.
"Leon. Who got it from Yong Soo. Who got it from..."
"Okay, I get it."
. . . I am just worried for Mathias' wellfare. Berwald looked like he could really pack a punch.
