Chapter 11: Deals | Dino/TBH

Dino had run for a couple of hours before coming across a white block in the floor. 'Wait... I thought L4FF broke the exit...' Dino looked up. Nestled between cracks in the stone, there was a block-sized hole in the roof, and Dino could barely make out the next teleportation block that led into the court house.

He glared, but then glanced behind himself. L4FF wasn't there. Dino had thought that the robot wouldn't attack him... He'd said he wouldn't attack him. Clearly that had been a lie. If Dino stayed down here, he had a chance to die. So, Dino crouched on the white block, and was met with a bonk on the head when he stood straight again.

Many wood planks were spread all around the enclosed space, almost completely closing Dino in. Only a few small gaps stood in the wood, and one was just big enough for Dino to crawl through. The furry-saur did just that, and was met with a terrible stench.

It took a few ticks for Dino's eyes to adjust to the sunlight shining through the broken windows, as it had been much dimmer down in the cavern. And then he saw it. Somehow, he'd managed to forget about it in his panic to get away from L4FF, but now it was right in front of him.

Woolf laid on the floor, a pool of dried blood spread around him. It had leaked from a hole in his head, clearly made by a sniper. Muffin was over in the corner, with more dried liquid pooled around him, however it wasn't blood.

Funny story; Meme had once taken a bite out of the child by accident when he was in his muffin form, and had been met with the taste of jelly. Yup. The fourteen-year-old was a jelly filled muffin... Well, actually, now he was just a dead human, as he'd been in that form when he was shot. But Dino didn't care too much about that, as his attention was focused on Woolf.

Slowly, Dino walked toward the furry, then fell to his knees and hugged the cold body of his best friend. A few tears slid down Dino's face, but he stayed silent, his scaly head buried in Woolf's two-tone hoodie. 'I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let this happen,' he thought.

It took a while for Dino to regain his senses, but eventually he stood and walked out of the court house. As he left, Dino could see something in the sky, but was too deep in grief to care what it was.

Tbh moved through the morning light, cutting the dried wheat that lay on the edge of the riverbed, and then replanting new seeds. Meme had asked everyone to do a certain job to help the group get ready for the inevitable attack from L4FF. L4FF wouldn't stay down in the cavern forever, and everyone wanted to be as ready as possible, even though they probably wouldn't do much damage to an invincible robot.

What was Tbh's job? Finding any and all food and stocking up on it. Tbh was covering a wheat seed with dirt, but stopped, and then face palmed. Laff had a huge farm! Sure, it was probably all dead, but it had more space for crops. So, Tbh promptly stood and started running towards the bridge out of Meme's base and towards the loaf man's wheat field.

|—o–O–o—|

It only took about forty-ish minutes to get there, and as Tbh had assumed, the wheat was dry and crusty, hanging limp in the wind. Quickly, Tbh got to work. He began pulling the dead plants from the ground and putting seeds in their place. Hidden eyes watched him from the distance, then began moving closer.

There was a sudden crunch of someone stepping on one of the wheat stalks. Tbh jumped, whipping around.

"Hey, don't scare me like tha—" Laff stood only a few steps away from him.

"Alright, I knows you is probably scared, but—" he started. Tbh turned tail and started to run, only to be slammed into from behind. He stumbled, tripping and falling. He was pinned to the ground only moments later.

"Listen!" Laff yelled in his ear. Tbh struggled for a moment, a shiver running down his spine.

"Get off!" he yelled back. Surprisingly, the hands that were holding him lifted. Tbh scrambled backwards, his eyes locked with Laff's. Laff didn't move. He just sat with a look of pain in his eyes as he stared at the crab man.

Once he was what he deemed 'far enough' away from Laff, Tbh paused. 'Why is he just... sitting there?'

"Please, listen..." Laff whispered.

Tbh glared at the man's gas mask, voice defiant as he spoke. "What do you want from me... from us?"

Laff blinked, a slight look of confusion on his face, and then a sudden snap of realization. "No... No, you're taking this the wrong way. I don't wants anythin'. It's Him. He's the one. I didn'ts mean to. I didn't—" Laff reached towards Tbh, but his hand quickly snapped back again. His breaths started to come quicker as he began to hyperventilate.

"Woah, hey, calm down," Tbh said softly, momentarily forgetting who he was speaking to. He wanted to comfort Laff, but at the same time was too scared to move closer. Tbh thought for a couple ticks.

"Who? Who's the one?" he said after a moment, confusion threaded through his voice.

"He's in my head. He's in my head, and He won't leaves me alone!"

'He sounds like he's gone insane!' Tbh thought. Laff could clearly see the look on Tbh's face, and the glass in his gas mask fogged with tears.

'I should help him,' his mind supplied. 'But he's a murderer!' He argued back.

"I didn'ts kill them! I didn't! I don't knows what happened to Wiktoria, but I'm sure Dino had somethin' to do with it. Yeah, he played a part in everythin'. He's only here because of Dino. It's Dino's fault He's in my head, and He wasn't here before," Laff said suddenly, as if he could read Tbh's mind.

"Who is in your head!?" Tbh yelled in irritation. He didn't want to listen to Laff's crazy babbling anymore.

"L4FF. He's there right now, whisperin'. Tbh, please, help me," Laff said quietly. Tears now dripped from the bottom of his mask.

Tbh paused, eyes going wide. 'Blaza said he might have some kind of mental disorder— DID or something, right?...'

"Laff... When did He start talking?" Tbh said.

"A few days before the wedding. I can't remember a week before He came."

'Aha!' Tbh thought. Gaps in memory was one symptom people with DID had— or at least, that's what Blaza'd said during another talk they'd had in the morning. Being covered with metal, however, was definitely unique to Laff.

A sudden look of fear fell over Laff's face. "Tbh, run. Tbh, please, run." Laff blinked, and his normally brown eyes turned to that glowing pink, his pupils once more glowing white slits. That same, familiar grey started to spread out from Laff's chest.

Tbh bolted up from his position, feet tripping over themselves as he dashed away. No footsteps followed. Just the echoing, robotic laugh of L4FF.

"We can't be sure of it, but I think you're right," Memegod said.

Tbh was back at the base now, and had told his friends what had happened.

"I feel bad, but at the same time, I don't think he actually is a DID person. He's just a psycho playing his stupid games. Right?" Oof asked. Meme had explained the situation some time early in the morning.

"No, he seemed genuine. There's a chance of that, yes, but while I don't think it's DID, I really think he needs help. It's certainly something similar," Tbh said. Blaza nodded in agreement. Oof pulled his glasses away from his eyes, letting the group see the beady black things. He blinked, his confusion and irritation now visible.

"First you're saying he's a Nether-spawned cereal killer, now you're saying he's innocent? Why can't you just pick one?" he said. Everyone grimaced at the sight, as Oof— and Blaza's— eyes were pretty disturbing. Oof had those kinds of dots you'd put on a stuffed animal, or draw on a stick figure, and Blaza's pupils were a bit too small in brighter light— AKA, during the day. It was turning to night now, though.

Silence held out through the group, and then Socks looked up. "Is that a meteor?"

Everyone else followed his gaze. Right up in the sky was a pretty big looking rock. Smaller ones were spread around it.

"That doesn't look safe. What if it crashes into the base?" Blaza spoke suddenly, "We should move." There was a look of clear fear in his eyes.

Socks and Tbh glanced at each other, then nodded simultaneously, but Memegod shook his head. "It's probably fine. I mean, what are the chances of that? It could land anywhere."

"Yeah! The world of Minecraft is huge!" Oof said. Blaza looked desperate for their agreement, but said nothing.

"Y'know what. I'm gonna head to bed. It's been a long day for all of us, I'm sure. Let's all get some rest. Goodnight!" said Meme, clearly trying to leave before an argument started up. Silent for only a moment, everyone slowly goodnight before leaving the middle of the base— except for Nadwe, who hadn't been there in the first place.

|—o–O–o—|

Tbh thought about what Blaza had said to him three days ago as he laid in bed.

"There was this one vision where there was something crashing into a house and exploding it. Probably a missile. I'm 90% sure that one hasn't happened yet, but it might've just been the village, and my brain was just giving me nightmares. I can't look back, just forward, but I still have memories."

Tbh sat up from his bed and glanced towards the window in his house's bedroom, before tossing the covers away to creep over to it. It looked like the meteor had gotten a bit bigger. Tbh squinted. Actually, it looked like it had gotten a lot bigger, seeming to have fallen through the atmosphere. It was falling really fast, too.

Tbh watched at the giant rock split into pieces from burning as it fell, ice-cold fear spreading through his body.

"No... No, we need to get out of here!" he yelled, even though no one was near him. He dashed out of his house, screaming Memegod's name. Oof had apparently legally changed his name, because he slammed his door open after a few ticks.

"What?" he grumbled groggily.

"We need to go. Now."

{CHAPTER NOTES}

Summary: Dino leaves the cavern and finds Woolf's body. Tbh goes out to Laff's old wheat field to replant the dead wheat, and has an encounter with Laff while he's there. They have a conversation that's more just both parties panicking, and L4FF takes over at the end, Tbh running away as quickly as possible. Back at the base, Tbh tells the rest of the group what'd happened. Socks spots some meteors in the sky, but nobody really worries about it. A bit later, they end up regretting that decision, the meteors getting ever closer. (Word Count: 1790)

[NEW NOTE]: Juxtaposed to Past-Me, I just got back to school. How ironic. Also, I now have even more interesting headcanons for character designs than before. Eventually I'll make a reference sheet for all the characters. Some day. But go check out my art book if you'd like some drawings! There's both stuff related and unrelated to M&M.

(Old Note): Hey guys! I've been a bit stressed with school work lately because break was coming up, and I was a bit behind. But break is here now, so yay! Again, I don't ship, I just use very close friendships, so I'm sorry furry shippers, but that's not what that is. Chapter summary: Dino- Dino escapes from the cavern because he doesn't want to die at L4FF's hand. Tbh- Tbh meets Laff who also left (This is a bit later in the day), and speaks with him. Back at the base, he talks with the gang (minus the child), and realizes that they weren't safe. Also I have a lot of funky head cannons about people's appearances, like Muffin being able to switch between human and muffin, and how his hair is edible as a human. I know, it's a bit cursed, and I'm sorry for ruining your eyes, Oof. Anyways, this is seven days after getting trapped in the cavern, incase y'alls are wondering (We started the book on day two 👀).
