*Beep! Beep! Beep!*

Jane's alarm clock screamed at her, trying to wake her up.

"Yeah, yeah. I get it." She said as she hit snooze, hoping for just a few more moments of blissful sleep. She had a late night last night, so she was more tired than usual.

She was about to go back to sleep, when she glanced at her clock. It was 7:34 already! She was supposed to be out the door already! With new found energy, she rocketed out of bed, threw off her pajamas and put on new clothes. As she charged down the stairs, she heard her bus pull up. She made it!

She sprinted out the door, just in time to see her bus leave.

"Perfect. Just perfect." She mumbled to herself. She would have to walk to school. She headed down the street, towards East High School. She was going to be so late!

As she was walking to school, she saw an injured cat laying by the road. She couldn't just leave it there, and she was already late to school. She picked up the cat as gently as she could, and she laid it on the grass.

Jane inspected the cat for wounds, and discovered two things:
1) the cat was definitely a he
2) he had a broken leg
She wished there was something she could do to help him, but she was no vet.

She could feel her powers bubbling up inside her. A sense of dread filled her. Why now? Why in public where she could be seen?

She didn't know what form her powers would take, so she simply closed her eyes and hoped for the best.

When she felt her powers release it was like a soft warmth was coming from her hands. She opened her eyes to see a soft glow. It was probably a nonviolent, non-killing, good-ish form of her powers, so she carefully held he hands towards the cat.

When she saw the cat's leg being healed she was relieved. She had helped a cat and nobody saw her, maybe it wasn't such a bad day after all.
