To show that I'm grateful for the food I am provided and the shelter I receive...

I say' thank you', and 'I love you.'

But, I do not believe that this is necessary, sure be grateful for what you have...

But the parent's job is to give you food and shelter.

And if they say, ' I give you food and I give you a roof over your head, blah, blah, blah' 

Well, it is what you are supposed to do.

I do not have to respect you if you don't respect me. 

Yes, you brought me into this world, but sometimes that is all a parent does. 

And the child does the rest.
