Koumei
Another Koumei!! Omo I'm so biased...

You watched him from above the tree, where you have been sitting on it's dangerously thin branches for hours already, thinking of some way to make your princess life less boring (but most likely you were just escaping from the palace maids who have been trying to make you wear heavy robes.) and luckily enough you found an interesting form of entertainment. Who knew that such events can happen inside the dull red walls of the palace?
He was just merely feeding pigeons, which sort of really, is not that amusing. But to you it's more than fascinating. Especially when you think all he does is to lock himself in the study. Koumei was introduced to you as a prince who didn't exactly looked and acted like one based on your preferences. So the marriage that was arranged between the two of you was a total wreckage. No one wanted it except for both parties' manipulative parents.
But, oh well, what can you do? Koumei does not defy against it, since it was for the good of his empire. And you couldn't disobey your parents either, lest you want to spend the rest of your life in a mine (yes, they are that cruel.)
"Heh, I didn't know that a man such as you are capable of actually having a life."
Koumei shot a surprise glance upwards, the sudden movement of his hand sent the pigeons flying away.
Shit.
Do you really have to destroy the show? 'Great loudmouth you got there, (y/n)' this time you cursed mentally, afraid of letting out any more careless noises.
Koumei put his fan over his forehead and squinted his eyes, hoping to see who might be secretly joining him all the time. You squirmed a little to hid yourself more in the shadows. But it only made your presence known, thanks to the creaking wood sounds you made.
"I know you're in there. Show yourself." He demanded. It somehow gave you the urge to laugh. His voice sounds pretty lousy acting brave and superior, though it made you to compel.
"No problem, your Highness." you said mischievously, and it made you even more excited to see his surprised face. Koumei nearly dropped his fan. He rushed at the foot of the tree.
"(Y/n)? Is that you? What are you doing up there? Get down right now."
He commanded. But this naughty side of you kicked in. You were always the kind who did not wanted to be ordered around. Koumei is not an exception to this.
"Oh? But the view here is amazing. I don't want to go down yet." You said.
"Listen (y/n). That tree is dangerous. I'm warning you, just go down." Koumei was obviously in a fit of panic. You didn't even find the situation worth it. Since this was somehow fun, you thought of keeping this a little longer.
"Hmm, I wonder why? How did you know, your Highness?"
Koumei stopped for a moment, as if thinking whether to tell you the answer or not. He dropped his head, and his ears went bright red through the dark. Your smirk grew even bigger. 'I can see interesting stuff coming my way.'
"I... Climbed on that tree when I was a child then... The branches broke... I fell." Koumei rubbed the back of his neck as he explained. You laughed hard at the expression of embarrassment in his face.
"Hahaha! That's pretty lame your Highness."
"I don't care. And if you don't get down I'll have to fetch guards to take care of you." 'Nosy little brat.' Koumei would like to add that to his statement. But still he is facing an important royalty. He cannot be that disrespectful.
You frowned. Koumei's at the end of his patience and this isn't fun anymore. Sighing deeply, you said "okay," and stood up. A creaking noise from like before sounded. The branch snapped from the main trunk. You fell.
This wasn't definitely what you planned, and it sure is scaring you to death, especially the height from where you're from and the ground. You can already feel the pain of broken bones. Closing your eyes, you wished for the best. 'Come what may.'
Seconds later, you finally landed. It wasn't as painful as you expected it would be. The ground was strangely soft, like a pillow. A... weird... shaped pillow.
You lifted your lids and let out a soundless gasp when you see Koumei underneath you, groaning in pain. But what surprised you the most is your position. You on top, hugging him and the proximity of your faces. At that moment how you wished for a hole to just swallow you.
"Umm... Princess (y/n)? Could you..." Koumei too, was feeling very uneasy of the situation to articulate properly any word. He never held a woman so close to him before. It was a scenario he never thought would occur to him.
Almost immediately, you eased off him and tried to stand. TRIED. It seems that you still gained a sprain even with the human cushion. You collapsed helplessly to the ground, wincing in pain.
"Princess (y/n), are you alright? Where does it hurt?"
"Of course I'm not alright! It's my ankle - OUCH!"
Koumei was pretty much fretting again. He looked around and figured what to do. There's no one else around. Just him and you.
Lifting up his sleeves, he put his arm under your knees and the other on your back. He lifted you up. Bad idea, because he was not able to support your weight and you ended up painfully on the ground again.
"Ow! Hey!" You complained. Tears were brimming up somewhere at the corner of your eyes. The pain was just too much to handle.
"Forgive me!" Koumei apologized and was surprised to see you almost crying. When you realised this you quickly turned your head away from him.
"Wha-what are you staring at?!"
Koumei laughed. "Nothing." It was the first time you saw him with a positive expression. 'He looks...cute.'
'Seriously (y/n), what has gotten into you?!'
As if that thought never crossed your mind, you casually reverted back to your usual self. "You're so lame! Just help me up!"
"You're the one who's lame." Koumei crouched down so he was at your level, put your right arm across his shoulders and assisted you while standing up.
"Whatever." For the next longest 3 minutes of your life, you hobbled down the thankfully empty hallways. You were relieved that no one has to see you in disgrace, well except for Koumei, who has to endure your complaints along the way.
At last you reached your chambers. Normally he wasn't allowed inside, but only this time you'll let him. Remember, foot injured. You're not in the mood to crawl to bed. With a relieved sigh, you sink in the comfort of the soft mattresses. Koumei was about to leave when your words stopped him halfway.
"I like your smiling face." You remarked. Darkness consumed your vision, the light disappearing along with the pain from your ankle. Koumei smiled softly, went back to your side and gave you a slight peck on the forehead. "And I would love it if you won't be climbing trees again."
