...will not be...

Elijah followed the desire demon for what felt like hours before they came across a green tear in the fade. It was small, nothing more than a green wisp in the air. Elijah looked at it in amazement the green from the tear shining in his eyes as he approached it.

"What is this?" He asked curiously.

"It's a tear in the fade, your daddy mentioned how there were more and more of these appearing." Elijah was too enraptured with the tear to even growl in annoyance at the name the demon called his father. "This will take you to the mortal world." This snapped Elijah out of his trance as he spun around.

"Are you being serious? Why did you never think to mention this?"

"Because your father only just mentioned it, and we were rather "busy" at the time so I figured I'd save it for a time when you were acting all pouty" Elijah looked back to the tear.

"How do I use it?"

"I think you just need to use your magic to push against it and the tear should pull you into it, it's the same way back as well."

"What about you? Aren't you going to come with me?"

"Nah, you go and have fun. I'll go keep your daddy occupied" Elijah gave a short nod before turning to the tear, his hands igniting in purple flames he put his hand to the tear, feeling a pulling sensation he closed his eyes, lightheadedness kicking in. When the feeling had lessened Elijah opened his eyes blinking away the blurriness as he looked around he couldn't help but feel giddy when he saw that he was in the mortal world, the desire demon had been telling the truth. The world around him looked so different from the fade. Trees rustled in the wind, the night air felt cool and the ground under his feet felt firm.

Now Elijah just had to find something to do, looking behind him he saw the tear still there so at least he knew he could return home. He found himself in the woods trees surrounding him; he decided he would simply walk until he found something interesting. He didn't have to wait long as he soon came across a small farm. Listening he heard what could only be mortals inside the house talking. Elijah knew what he would do for some fun now, it may even make his father talk to him or even just look in his direction. A small sadistic smile grew on his face as he crouched down waiting, like a predator waiting for its prey.

Hiding behind a large crate Elijah sat and waited. He knew he just could burst in he could easily take a couple mortals but where was the fun in that. No he wanted to stalk his prey, watch them and wait for the right moment. And after an hour that moment came. Footsteps crossed the house as the door to the farm house opened and a woman with a small basket in her arms walked out as she yelled goodbye and made her way down the path.

Elijah made his way to the house, reaching the front door he pushed it open. As he walked in he found the man stocking the small fire in the fireplace, when the man saw Elijah his eyes widened in fear as he aimed the fire poker at Elijah.

"Stay back! What are you?"

"Oh, I'm just looking to have some fun and I think you'll do nicely" Elijah's hands ignited and he aimed them at the man and blasted a large burst of flames hitting the man, burning his flesh off as the man let out pained screams. As the cremated bones of the man fell to the floor Elijah Elijah felt the rush of adrenaline but something felt different. Suddenly a scream startled Elijah out of his thoughts, as he spun around to see the woman, the basket she had been carrying dropped to the floor, the contents scattered around her feet. She started to move backwards towards the door when Elijah quickly grabbed her by the throat squeezing hard enough to cause pain but not choke her.

"Hmmm, maybe I need to be more physical" The woman's eyes widened in fear as Elijah flexed his free hand eyeing his claws. With one swift motion he pierced the woman's heart with his claws letting the blood flow down his hands and dripping onto the floor. He then dropped her to the floor. Taking a deep breath he felt the adrenaline rush through him, waiting for the excitement to hit him. The sound of footsteps made Elijah ready to strike, one more kill, maybe that's all he needed, just one more kill. But as Elijah turned to face the last of his prey he stopped suddenly, his eyes widening slightly when he saw a small boy standing in front of him. The boy was shaking in fear as he clutched a small stuffed dragon and blanket, the boy's eyes drifted over to his mother and father before taking a step back towards the room he came from. Elijah froze, he'd seen children before in the fade but all he could see was the fear in his eyes. Elijah couldn't move, he couldn't think as he just stared at the boy.

After standing frozen for what felt like an eternity Elijah regained his composure. Taking a step backwards and then another and soon Elijah was running from the house and back to the tear. As Elijah reentered the fade stopped, looking back to the rift as it closed behind him. He stood silently for a moment before a voice spoke up.

"Soooooo, how did it go?" Elijah turned back to see the desire demon sitting on a rock looking at him expectedly.

"It was, interesting" Elijah replied

"Must have been your shaking" Elijah looked at his hands as they trembled "is that blood? Did you kill anyone?"

"Yeah" Elijah replied.

"Was it everything you wanted?" There was no answer.
