Author Note: Just want to wish all of you guys a Merry Christmas, and for those of you who might not celebrate Christmas: Happy Holidays! :D I hope the rest of this year is good to you guys, and I hope you have a great New Year!

Sans is a MONSTER and not a HUMAN, so he doesn't follow HUMAN biology like a HUMAN skeleton. Same with Gaster and Papyrus.

------------------------------------

It was finally here, the day that their children had been utterly ranting and raving about, (to the point they had trouble sleeping the night before because they were so excited): it was Christmas. Christmas day. A day where no one in this family would get to stay in bed late, especially not Sans and Frisk with two excitable children who were jumping all over them and their bed covers at 8am in the morning. Even if the parents tried their best to get Leo and Luna to snuggle with them for just an extra hour, (like they might try to do on other occasions when they wanted extra sleep), but this time it just wasn't happening.

"Come on, mommy, daddy! I want to see what Santa has given us!" Luna said excitedly, while Leo was agreeing with his sister, wanting to practically pull the parents out of bed if they could. This didn't make Sans or Frisk angry though, (as some parents might have got hairy at their children about such a situation), but it was easy to remember what it was like to be a hyper little kid, who just wanted to see what they got for Christmas. And besides, Frisk wanted to get up out of bed so she could be prepared for lunch. So, she wasn't really complaining.

"Alright, alright. Come on, lets get up, lazybones." Frisk giggled, going to lightly tap her fiance on the shoulder before going to pull the covers off of herself once the ecstatic children had climbed off of the bed to let the two of them get up. It was the funniest thing, seeing both Leo and Luna going down the stairs on their butts, one step at a time to get to the bottom. They were still only fairly little after all, so doing that was probably easier than using their small legs to walk down them. "You can both start off with opening one before lunch, okay? Then the rest we'll open later." Otherwise, if they opened all of them early in the morning, it would almost feel like Christmas was already over, seeing as they opened all of the gifts.

Just as Leo and Luna were deciding what to open from under the tree, a sleepy Sans was making his way downstairs, causing Frisk to giggle once more due to how cute he looked when he was half awake. "Hey, sleepybones." Frisk hummed, going to give him a kiss upon the cheekbone when he came close. "You wouldn't mind putting on some Christmas music would you, while I prepare lunch?" Frisk questioned, while Sans let out a tiny chuckle.

"sure, i can do that." He said, seeing Frisk looking thankful towards him as she gave him another kiss, this time on the mouth, before heading towards the kitchen. Just as Sans was going to put some Christmas music on, he couldn't help but smile at the excited sounds of the children, who had seemed to open their first gifts that they were allowed to open. Luna was jumping and squealing over what looked like a new girl-y princess doll that she had gotten, that had long flowing hair which could be brushed. The outfits looked like they could be changed too.

Leo on the other hand, was seeming to hug what looked like a plush of an axolotl - which was actually the gift that he had gotten given by Kyle's mom, saying that the little boy had picked it out for Leo. It made Sans grin, seeing how much the 6 year old seemed to love it, as he was hugging and squeezing the toy close to his face, clearly wanting to hug it tight. If that was a person, Leo would likely be squeezing all the life out of them right now.

With the Christmas-y music put on, gently playing in the background, Sans decided to sit down crossed legged on the carpet beside the two giddy kids, just watching them play with their newly opened gifts, as he leaned back on his hands, and smiled warmly. This was the thing about having two kids, it was always so soul warming to see them happy. Their happiness meant everything to the skeleton, and that's why his break up with Frisk had been all the more damaging; he saw how it affected them too, and that made it a lot harder to deal with.

He was glad that he and Frisk still managed to keep the Mafia a secret from them, even now, because something told him their lives would have been completely different if either of them somehow got mixed up in all of that. In all that negativity. Thankfully, they were able to have fairly normal childhoods, and live happier lives as a result of being kept away from the Mafia. Sans had the feeling that when they grew up to be teenagers, it would be a lot harder to keep such secrets from them, especially from someone like Leo, who was already not so easily convinced about certain things. It blew Sans' mind how a 6 year old who at other times seemed so carefree and laid back, could somehow be so utterly knowing without even maybe realising it. That's what made Leo his kid. Even as a child, he wasn't easily fooled.

Every now and then, the skeleton would get up to get off of the carpet, while the kids were playing and dancing around to the music in the background; he wanted to see how Frisk was doing, knowing how stressful it could sometimes be to prepare lunch for Christmas. Especially because it was an utter pain in the ass if things decided not to go right; it wasn't like many shops near them decided to stay open for Christmas, so you couldn't always buy extra items that you needed to fix the issue at hand. Sans wished he could have helped more when it came to doing this, but he wasn't exactly that great of a cook. After all, before falling in love with Frisk, all Sans would eat 99% of the time was a burger and fries, and it was the only thing he would ever cook.

So, he wasn't exactly qualified in this area. Frisk, on the other hand, seemed like a great cook, (and seemed to enjoy it, just like his brother), which was good; he'd hate for her to feel like she had to do it just because she had to, rather than doing it out of her own enjoyment, (even if eating was a basic necessity for living beings). "how's it goin'?" Sans wondered, going to wrap his arms around Frisk's waist from behind, to lightly nuzzle his chin into her shoulder. Frisk beamed.

"It's going okay. I'm just making sure I have all I need out and ready at the moment, then I'll start cooking at... Maybe in an hour?" Frisk said. She had to make sure she got all the food cooked and ready in time for lunch after all, so it was only reasonable she would start doing that a couple of hours before actual lunch time. "Are the kids enjoying themselves?"

"heh, yeah... they seem to like the first gifts they opened up." Sans told her, lightly kissing her on the neck, which caused Frisk to smile as a result of his action. She was glad that their children seemed like they were enjoying themselves, and that they already seemed happy. She knew it would likely keep them eager for the rest of the day, knowing that they would get to open more presents after lunch time.

"I'm glad."

After talking to Frisk for a short while, Sans went back into the living room to put his attention back on the children, who were dancing around to the music, with their toys in their hands. Luna was also trying to sing along to the lyrics, slightly off key, as she was singing way higher pitched than what was needed for the song. But rather than it being cringe-y and painful to listen to, (as  that's how it would be for an adult), Sans could only chuckle at how adorable Luna was being, singing along to the Christmas music.

They had awhile until lunch, so while singing and dancing to Christmas music was part of the way the children decided to entertain themselves, they also went out to have a little snowball fight, which Sans ended up joining them in. There were times when Sans was on Leo's team, or Luna's team, and there were other times where it was just Sans getting teamed up on by the two kids. It was actually a lot of fun, with them laughing and giggling, even if it meant him getting pelted directly in the face by a snowball.

"okay, okay! ya win! i concede! i concede!" Sans cracked up with laughter, trying to protect his face from the snowballs, as he was lying down in the snow. Giggling themselves, the two children eventually stopped throwing snowballs at their dad, only to tackle him in hugs together.

"We win!" Luna and Leo laughed together, causing the  group of three to be lying in a pile as chuckling messes. It had been a lot of fun to get to play together, but this had eventually led the group up to lunch, meaning they had to go back inside for Christmas dinner. Seeing it all laid out across the table, with a huge turkey sitting in the middle, with various other things sitting around it, like potatoes, vegetables, different sauces... Frisk always really outdid herself with the effort that she put in during Christmas. It was no surprise that Sans, Leo and Luna were all practically drooling over all that they could see, while Frisk laughed at their hungry faces.

"I hope  you enjoy. Tuck in everyone." Frisk beamed, going to take a seat at the table herself, to begin eating some food, as she was rather quite hungry herself. The other three nodded in agreement, going to take their own seats where their plates had been laid out, and they could pick whatever they wanted to put on their plates from what was sitting in the middle of the table. The family broke into chatter as they ate, with the Christmas music still playing within the background. While they were actually in the middle of eating their lunch, the family was joined by two other visitors - Papyrus and Mettaton - who was actually invited to have lunch with them. Papyrus would join them every year for Christmas, so how could he not this year?

With Christmas crackers being pulled, and with more chatter happening, this Christmas day really went how Frisk really wanted it to go. She had been so damn worried alongside her fiance that it would just be a horrible Christmas this year. She almost thought of not putting in any effort at all, with how glum that she had been feeling towards the end of this year. But everything was perfect. The rest of the day played out just how they wanted. Leo and Luna were happy with the rest of their gifts, Papyrus and Mettaton even stayed for awhile to enjoy some Christmas movies with them. Luna was beaming happily, laughing every now and then while watching Jim Carrey's version of the Grinch. Every time she watched that movie, she was always a smiley mess, and that made the parents glad.

It was just the best Christmas ever.
