Thieves and Romance [72]
Today was another day. And in all honesty, it made Frisk wonder what possibly made Sans want to spend an entire day off work, so he could be at her side, just watching movies with her at home. As that's where they were - they were at Toriel's. And everyone was gone, except the two of them, which gave them some time to spend some actual quality time together as a couple. Sans cared more about Frisk than he did about his actual job anyway, unlike that bitch, Blair. So, he would gladly stay here, cuddling with Frisk as they were enjoying just watching movies together in her room.
"This is nice... Being here with you." Frisk smiled towards Sans, as she snuggled a little closer to him, and he was holding her in his arms as they were laying together on her bed. He beamed back at her, seeming to think the exact same thing. He enjoyed Frisk's company without a doubt. "What made you want to spend time off of work anyway?" Frisk asked, which got Sans rolling his eyes in response.
"what kinda dumb question is that?" He asked, at first sounding a little annoyed, which worried Frisk that she had maybe ticked him off. The last thing she wanted to do was ruin the day that they had so far been spending together. She didn't want to annoy her boyfriend so that he did decide that maybe he was better off going to work. She rose her eyebrows when he looked directly at her. "maybe it was so i could spend time with ya, silly." Sans teased, before a small grin fell upon his face, and he decided to plant a caring kiss upon her lips. Frisk couldn't help but smile into the kiss in return, before deciding to wrap her arms around the back of his neck, just seeming to want to pull him closer.
Moments like this were nice. Where they could show how crazy they were about each other through their mouths, rather than through all the words they could say to each other. Frisk remembered the days when she had first fallen so hard for the skeleton, and she had nights where she had dreamt about wanting to kiss the man, where she had wanted to tell him how much she cared. And of course, Sans had the same kind of dreams, where he so badly had wanted to tell her his feelings.
Pulling away, Sans stared down at the now blushing Frisk with a warm smile, as he was now towering over her. He couldn't get over how beautiful she looked. Ever since falling for her, he couldn't stop picturing her as the most amazing girl he had ever seen. Like he had said to Frisk when they were trapped in that prison cell together, he felt it was possible he loved Frisk even more than he had loved Blair. Somehow, he had fallen deeper for this human girl than he had for his first love. That made it all the more scary if something were to go wrong. However, he believed in Frisk. He wasn't going to doubt her.
"Hey, Sans?" Frisk spoke up after a moment, breaking the silence, while Sans was gently playing with a strand of her hair. When he simply let out a small "Hm?" as a yes, she went on. "You know the day when we were kidnapped, and you told me all about your past? It got me thinking..." Frisk paused for a second. "How I want to tell you more about my past life, you know, before I met you, and everyone else. Because I realise you don't really know a lot about me."
"oh, right." Sans said. "well, i remember ya mentionin' about your parents... and how ya used to live on the street... that couldn't have been easy." The skeleton muttered, while Frisk shook her head. It hadn't been easy. Not in the slightest. Hell, she truthfully believed that one day she was going to die out there. Before she had been picked up by Sans and Asriel, she was getting skinnier and skinnier as the days went on. Running into this skeleton changed her life. Not only did it earn her a place to live, and all the food she could eat. It gave her the most amazing boyfriend she could ask for. She wouldn't trade him in for anyone else.
"No, it wasn't easy. I probably would have died out there if it wasn't for you running into me." Frisk admitted. At first, she had been scared that this skeleton would kill her; instead he had done the exact opposite, without even realising it. "You saved my life." She said, feeling her heart melt a little when her comment had got a surprised look from the skeleton, which soon broke into a touched smile.
"The whole thing about my parents though... They were actually killed right in front of me. I remember seeing it happen, and honestly... I still have nightmares about it sometimes. If I'm not having nightmares about that time I committed murder to save your life, then it's about that." She frowned, also earning a now saddened look from the monster. "It happened when my house was being burgled at night time. My parents told me to hide in a little cupboard where we tended to store things. And there was a tiny little hatch where I could see through the door, and I watched through that. I don't think they planned to kill anyone originally, maybe they just reacted out of fear. But my mom and dad were shot dead right in front of me, and straight afterwards the thieves panicked and left, without taking a single thing." Frisk started to become teary eyed as she told this story, which caused Sans to gently put a hand to her cheek, gently wiping away the tears every now and then with his thumb.
"man... if i knew who those thieves were i'd beat them down into the ground. it's terrible ya had to see somethin' like that. i couldn't even imagine how i would react if i saw my dad get killed before me." Sans admitted. It had just been bad enough when Gaster had been taken from them, and he had been terrified that he would have been killed. During that time, he had hoped with all his soul that his father was still alive. He didn't want to accept that he could be dead. Otherwise he would have given up looking for him. But he didn't.
"Yeah... I almost wanted to give up right then and there. For awhile I always thought I should have just died with them." Frisk answered, staring into the skeleton's eyes as she said this. "But then I thought, no. Somehow, I had to keep living for them. If I was able. It was what they would have wanted. And I'm glad I was able to survive. I'm glad that I didn't die, that I wasn't killed that day with them. Because then I met you." Frisk beamed, as Sans wiped away a couple more tears from her lightly blushed cheeks. It was difficult not to smile in return. There were things that could have gone wrong in Sans' life too, things that could have led him to dying, that could have stopped him from meeting the girl of his dreams. Frisk was someone who made him glad he had made it this far. That he was still among the living.
"heh... i love ya." Sans murmured, lightly nuzzling his nose against hers. "i was actually thinkin' we should have another date, though maybe a more fancy one than just eatin' at mcdonalds or somethin'." The skeleton said with a chuckle.
"Oh? Did you have something in mind?" Frisk asked her boyfriend, going to gently reach a hand up to place it on one of his cheekbones, going to graze her own thumb against the bone every now and then. She knew since meeting this skeleton that he had never been a terrible person. Ever. He had just been someone who had gone through terrible things. That was clear to her whenever they had moments like this. Moments where Sans was thoughtful, and kind and just utterly loving. This was the man who Sans was. He was the best thing to ever happen to her, he was her protector.
"well, i thought we should go out on your birthday, whenever that is. seein' as we ate out on my birthday." He explained. "we could maybe go to the same place, or a different restaurant, but this time it'd just be the two of us." He smiled at her. "would ya like that? for me to be able to treat ya like a princess on your birthday?" He quietly teased, which got a small giggle out of her.
"I'd love that idea, Sans. To be able to spend the evening with you." She agreed with a nod. Just him and her, on her birthday. It sounded perfect. As much as she would have loved the idea of also getting to celebrate it with her friends, really the idea of just being with Sans for that day truly appealed to her. Because they could be as lovey dovey as they wanted without annoying any of their friends. Their evening could be truly romantic. A romantic evening on her birthday is truly what sold the idea of spending her day with her boyfriend.
So, she gladly agreed.
