Tell The Truth [38]
Since he had been doing a lot of resting, the oldest skeleton - W.D Gaster, was able to get up and out of bed, seemingly to everyone's delight. It made Frisk smile, the way she saw people interact with him, when they saw that he was doing okay. He really was quite popular here it seemed. Perhaps Gaster was one of the people that held this whole place together, unless you were talking about Asgore who was the boss and all. But that man just seemed to spend a lot of his time in his office. Frisk never really saw him much since her very first day here. Then again, since he and Toriel had likely been arguing, it was probably no surprise that he didn't seem very cheerful.
Gaster had heard about Sans' nightmare, considering he had been awake the entire time he heard Sans complaining at Frisk, while sounding so shook up. He knew that he wanted to comfort Sans during that time, but Frisk was trying her best to do that herself. It was clear to Gaster that Frisk cared greatly about his son, and she wanted to get on good terms with him. He decided to thank her, when he found her at Grillby's, seeming to ask Grillby to cook some food for the both of them - her and Sans.
"Excuse me, Frisk?" Gaster spoke, catching the attention of the human girl who tried her best to give a polite smile back to Sans' father in return. This was the father of her crush, so if anything she wanted to try her hardest to make the best impression. "Listen, I wanted to thank you for being there for Sans when he sounded so distraught the other night." Frisk rose her eyebrows at him. "I heard what was going on. You seem to care a great deal about him to be so patient with him."
"Y-Yes, well... He's like family to me." Frisk spoke, before she stammered, embarrassed. "I-I mean, you know-- He's a good friend." She laughed, nervously. It didn't help when Gaster chuckled, a knowing grin on his face. Had he worked it out? Probably. The man was quite intelligent it appeared - not that Sans wasn't. But with Sans seeming to try so hard to block her out, her feelings likely weren't so obvious.
"I see." Gaster replied. It was clear to him that Frisk had a kind heart. "Well, again, thank you."
"Of course." Frisk slowly nodded, before turning towards Grillby, thanking him when he handed her the warm plates of food, and she headed to the elevator to go and give one to Sans. Gaster glanced towards the flame monster, who appeared to give a small smile. Gaster managed a weak smile in return, before it turned to a frown. He was glad that there was yet another person who was trying to care for Sans. He just knew that it might not last, because all Sans wanted to do was push her back.
Arriving back in the room that Sans was in, Frisk was surprised to see Andrew trying to create conversation with the skeleton, who on the other hand appeared quite hostile, and uninterested. Andrew seemed relieved when Frisk reentered the room, and that the conversation was stopped then and there, because he wasn't quite sure of what to say when he was stuck alone in the same room as the guy who had attacked him. "Hey Frisk." Andrew spoke.
"Hey." Frisk faintly smiled towards him, before looking towards the grumpy looking Sans. "Here, I brought you some food." She held it out for him, smiling when he silently took it from her grasp. She wasn't even going to get mad that he hadn't said thank you, she knew he was having a hard time. "Are you okay?"
"i'm fine..." Sans exhaled. "i'm just... sick and tired of lyin' around in bed, that's all." Hell, he remembered before he was in the Mafia, he used to be a pretty lazy guy. He'd kill to be able to lie in bed all day for days on end. But now, he was practically a different guy. Being in bed like this caused him to get impatient and he would get so god damn bored. The fact that he couldn't sleep properly since that terrible nightmare didn't help. He just wasn't really that lazy skeleton anymore, he hadn't been ever since being in the Mafia.
"See it this way, soon you'll feel well enough to get out of bed." Andrew spoke from where he was sitting, causing the skeleton to glare at him.
"who said ya could get involved in the conversation? no one was askin' ya." Sans said harshly. Andrew frowned. He was just trying to be nice, but apparently Sans did not quite like that. "why are ya even here? shouldn't ya be in the stupid cells where ya belong?"
"Sans, that's not fair." Frisk told him. "You know Andrew is innocent. Just because he is family of a few people in that group, doesn't mean he should deserve to be left in a cell to just die there."
"so ya can just trust that he is an okay guy, that he wouldn't try anythin'?"
"Don't you think I would have already tried something by now while you were sleeping if I wanted to do that?" Andrew retorted. "I'm not a bad person." He spoke up. All it was that he had been brought into this whole thing when he never wanted to be. If he could, he would just be at home, doing his own thing, minding his own business, pretending as if none of this ever happened. It's what he had done with his own family, pretending they were normal people and not murderers. So, why couldn't he do it in this situation?
Sighing, Sans knew the guy had a point. That didn't make him much less suspicious of him though. For all he knew, he could have just been waiting for the right timing to do something. Sans was just trying to think of any possible scenario where the guy could be guilty. It was how he was programmed now. He couldn't think about making friends, all he could think about was what they could possibly do to cause him harm.
"Just try to get some food in you. You'll be able to get out of bed before you know it." She smiled.
"i fuckin' hope so... otherwise i'm gonna go insane."
With that said, Frisk also decided to quietly eat, enjoying her own food, having small talk with both Andrew and Sans here and there. She was just hoping that by the time Sans was healed, that she had the guts to just tell him how she felt. She wanted to get it out in the open as soon as she could, because she didn't want it to sit for too long. Otherwise it would drive her crazy.
So, she decided. When she could, she'd tell him the truth.
