Mission [9]
Pulling up to the kerb, Sans brought the car to a stop, stopping the engine once they were stationary. They had arrived upon their destination, and that was pretty obvious by the fact that Sans had gone to take off his seat belt, before grabbing a gun out of the glove compartment that the skeleton had decided to bring. Frisk gulped when he took out the pistol's clip, checking he had enough bullets, before simply slotting it back in place and making sure it was reloaded. "alright, now, if ya want, ya can stay in the car like i told ya." Sans simply said, glancing towards Frisk. "but if ya do need to defend yourself at any point, if anyone comes out here and you're discovered, there's another pistol in there." Sans pointed towards the glove compartment. Silently and fearfully, Frisk nodded.
"A-Are you going to... Be okay?" Frisk stuttered, feeling worried that he would end up getting himself hurt. Sans was almost ready to get out the car, but hearing the concern in her voice stopped him. He was surprised that she was worrying about him. He simply rolled his eyes, before looking back towards her.
"i'll be fine. this ain't the first time i've had to do somethin' like this by myself." Sans reassured her, before now climbing out of the car and shutting his door. Using a button on his car keys he proceeded to lock the car, before rushing off into the shadows of the night, so if anyone was around he would hopefully not be so easily spotted as he was using the darkness to his advantage. It was only a small group he was dealing with anyway, so they likely wouldn't be too much for him, a single monster, to handle.
Upon coming close to the building, Sans noticed there was a security camera at the entrance. Aiming his gun carefully, he fired a single bullet and took the camera out in silence. Having a silencer on the end of the gun was extremely useful for times like this when you wanted to just sneak around. Sans didn't feel the need to make his presence known unless he truly had to. So, for now it was a better idea to be undiscovered until otherwise.
Going up a first flight of stairs and opening a door, Sans came to a long hallway, which actually had big double doors at the end of it. And standing in front of it, appeared to be a guard, armed with a gun. Sans quickly ducked, remaining upon the stairs, low enough so that the guard couldn't see his head. But he could hear the man's confusion when he had seen the door open, but no one had come through. "Who's there?!" They demanded, seeming to ready the weapon in their hands, aiming carefully for anything that might have come through the door. Sans knew he had to take out everyone anyway, but he needed to take this first person out silently. If they were guarding that door, it had to be important. Perhaps everyone else was inside there.
When he was sure the guy was close enough, Sans quickly lunged up the stairs, going to tackle the surprised man to the ground. It was risky when he had a gun, but risk was practically Sans' middle name. He covered his mouth so he couldn't scream out for his friends, before slamming the bottom of his gun into the side of his head, knocking him out instantly. Standing up, Sans then carefully aimed the gun at his head, before pulling the trigger. That was one down.
Seemingly, no one else had been alerted yet, which was good. However, if there was more than one of two people in that room, it was going to be difficult to take them all out. Luckily, a smoke grenade would be useful for this situation, and Sans made sure to come well equipped to any mission. Placing his feet carefully, Sans made his way towards the room, holding the gun in one hand while readying the smoke grenade in the other. He mentally counted down from three within his head, before kicking in the doors, and throwing it inside, hearing shocked shouts and gasps from at least several men and even a woman.

Frisk had been sitting inside the car for probably half a hour already. Though, even if time had seemed to go insanely quickly, for Frisk it felt like it had dragged on for quite awhile, especially with how anxious she was feeling. She could remember seeing the sight of Sans making his way towards the building, before disappearing from her sight. What she hated about this whole thing was that she had no idea whether or not Sans would be okay. She couldn't contact him, and she sure as hell didn't have the guts to go in after him. That would probably anger him anyway, because she'd likely only get in his way.
Her two eyes trailed towards the glove compartment, where Sans the skeleton had told her he left a gun. Leaning forward, she carefully went to open it. Inside, she could clearly see the gun sitting there, and when she took the heavy life taker into her hands, she saw that the safety had been turned on. Which was likely a good idea for when it wasn't in use. Gulping, she took the safety off, and just sat there, not really sure what to do next. She hated how much this thing made her hands shake and quiver, how much it made her sweat from nerves, and the idea of stealing someone's life away with this thing. How did Sans so easily do it?
He justified it, saying it was what they did. He even told her when they first met that they helped others - that they weren't the villains she thought they were. But how was this justifiable? Killing off another group of people who were apparently a threat to them? Yeah, they were maybe bad people and probably hurt innocents but... Frisk wasn't sure how she felt about all of this. Didn't know how she felt about the Mafia. Didn't know how she felt about her newfound... Friend? Well, Sans likely didn't see her as a friend. To him, she was probably still a pest, a nightmare he couldn't wait to get rid of.
Probably. She wasn't sure. She wasn't sure what Sans was thinking about her. One minute he was kind, the next he was telling her to go away, not wanting to be anywhere near her. He was extremely confusing. Though, Frisk's thoughts were soon interrupted when she saw a man appear from the building that Sans had gone into. He seemed to be looking around for a moment, before looking towards the car. Frisk felt like she wanted to scream, and quickly ducked for cover so that he wouldn't notice her. Who was that? Why was he there?
Shaking with fear, Frisk closed her eyes and just wanted everything to disappear. But then she thought. Wait, what if he had come out here to do something to the car? Maybe ruin the tires so Sans couldn't get away or... Blow it up? Quickly, she shot up in her seat, and instantly the unknown figure's eyes landed upon hers. His pace quickened and he seemed to be pulling out a gun. This was it, it was now or never.
Hearing gunshots ring out from the building that Sans had went into, Frisk went to put her finger over the trigger, aiming it at the guy through the windshield. But her hands continued to shake, and she couldn't bring herself to do it. Letting out a scream, she ducked once more as the front windscreen was shattered with a bullet that was aimed straight for her. From where she was sitting, she could see him making his way around the front of the car, going to the side front window, aiming the gun right for her. This was it, wasn't it? She was going to die.
Closing her eyes tightly, Frisk waited for the bullet to connect with her forehead, killing her in an instant. Instead, she heard the man let out a small grunt, before seeming to fall to the ground. She opened her eyes and sat up, seeing Sans seeming to run towards the car. He turned around, shooting towards two guys who had appeared to chase after him. He took one of them out, before dodging bullets from the second guy and then he followed the same fate as his friend.
Racing back to the car, Sans climbed back in. He shot the key into the key slot, before starting the engine and speeding away from the kerb. He appeared to be out of breath for a moment, leaning back into his seat as he was recollecting himself after everything that just happened. It had been awhile since he had felt that much adrenaline from something, but he thought he had almost fucked everything up. For some reason, his gun had decided to jam on him in there and wouldn't work. When that happened, he had to try and take a gun from one of the others. He almost got himself shot in the process. "are ya alright, kid?" Sans asked, glancing towards her once he had seemed to calm.
"Am I okay? Are you okay? You seemed unsteady." Frisk pointed out, calming down herself as her life had been in the balance. But once again, Sans had saved her. And she had failed protecting herself because she couldn't pull the trigger. She was useless.
"i'm fine. perfectly fine. that just ended up bein' a bit more difficult than i thought it'd be. sorry about that guy that tried to take ya out. he slipped past me without my knowledge."
"It's fine... You saved my life again... All because I couldn't pull the trigger." Frisk sighed with a frown. Sans was quiet for a moment, until he spoke again.
"ya gotta learn to do it, frisk. ya coulda been killed today had i not shown up at the right moment. and toriel wants ya to remain alive, so at least try for her." Sans frowned. "i know ya may question why ya have to do that for someone ya hardly know but... toriel is kinda like the mom of the mafia in a way. yea, she quit, but that doesn't mean she still doesn't want us all to remain safe. and you're one of us now, so that includes ya." Sans explained. Slowly, Frisk nodded, taking all of this in.
"I'll try... I'll try to learn." Frisk sighed. She didn't want to. She really didn't. But it wasn't like she really had a choice, was it? "Hey, can I turn the radio on?" She wondered, and upon getting a simple nod, she leaned forward and tried to find something relaxing to play. Eventually, she settled on one of the radio stations, and from then on the two didn't talk. They just sat, listening to the music and stared forward towards the road.
It was crazy to think that once again, Frisk could have probably almost died today.
