Good and Bad[100]
Author Note: Woah, 100 parts! :o
I'm actually honestly really surprised the story has made it this far, as when I started it off, I didn't really expect it to last past more than maybe 20 parts. But here we are at three digit numbers. xD
And I don't really have plans to end the story yet any time soon so... I'm not sure how much longer the story will be. Haha.
I hope you guys enjoy this chapter, and that I hopefully wrote a good chapter for this milestone. I tried to make it longer than past parts considering it is part 100.
Also normally I don't include videos at the beginning of any of the chapters, but I've been listening to "Partners in Crime" nonstop while writing the past few parts, and trying to make Frisk a somewhat cooler character. xD
Anyway, I'll stop rambling now, but again, just want to thank you guys so much for the continuous support. Onto more chapters! >:D
Enjoy!

"Undyne, darling, I love you and all but this? This is stretching it a bit much, don't you think?" Mettaton was complaining at the fish monster, as she was busy strapping the anxious Papyrus up to the lie detector. While those two were talking between one another, Papyrus had to work on calming himself down. If he got so nervous, it would give away that he had been lying this entire time... Papyrus couldn't help but smile a little at how the robot was trying to argue with the fish about why this was a dumb idea, and it did cheer him up a little knowing the robot was trying to stick up for him.
"Mettaton, if he has nothing to hide, then it isn't a big deal." Undyne told the robot with an exhale of breath, wishing he would just step down so that things would not become more complicated than they needed to be. Undyne just knew that if it turned out this whole time Papyrus was telling the truth, and she had been accusing him for nothing... She would feel awfully guilty for being so terrible towards her friend. But right now, she couldn't let emotions get in the way of work, in the way of justice. She hoped that Papyrus understood, that he wouldn't hate her.
Exhaling and not being able to do a whole lot else to interfere with this decision, Mettaton flashed Papyrus an apologetic look, while Papyrus just smiled, trying to give him a look that said "Don't worry about it". He would be fine... Right? Somehow he had to pass this. He had to remain confident. Believe in his own lies. Maybe if he believed what he was saying was true, it would be enough to convince even himself at what he was saying. That Sans wasn't someone she should be suspicious of. There was something that wasn't a lie though. And that was that his brother wasn't an evil person. He believed in him, and he would show that, by keeping him safe.
He wouldn't let Sans go to prison.
"ya think ya can really handle it now, frisk?" Sans had been trying his best to train Frisk for as much as he could manage, in simulations, using guns... He had been weak about it at first, not finding it in himself to be able to help her do such things. To help her be less of a softy about everything, and to make her have a bit more of a punch. Even though he was teaching her all these things, how to shoot people, how to run away... She still remained her. He could tell she was nervous about everything still but... She hadn't changed in any of it.
"I think so... It's still difficult to imagine, if I was faced with such a decision... Having to shoot someone. Possibly Undyne." She gulped at the idea, frowning at the airsoft gun in her hand, as she and Sans were sitting against the wall of the training room they were in. Undyne was in charge of the CIA, or at least, she is Papyrus' boss. If they were caught, if they were found out, and she tried to put Sans in danger... If she shot at him... Would Frisk be able to do the same in return?
Still, she couldn't help but doubt herself. Think back to how her life was before she shot that first man, and stole his life away. For so long she had tried to think about it like that person was evil, and maybe deserved to die - but it never made her feel good about the whole thing. Undyne was a woman just trying to do her job. Was it justified that Frisk might kill her, just because she was trying to protect her future? Their future? She wasn't sure. But she might not be able to stop whatever might happen.
"it is scary... it's not easy to handle the first couple of times... frisk, if ya ever do have to kill someone, well, another person, don't let it change ya, okay?" He sadly smiled at her, hoping that she would always hold onto that advice. Being in the mafia, it didn't do him much good. It made him into the man he was before falling in love with Frisk, (especially with Blair fucking him over). Gently taking one of her hands into his, he gave it a small squeeze, while she weakly pulled the edges of her lips onto a tiny beam herself.
"anyway, i think we've been spendin' too much time trainin' lately. how about we actually spend a night out. the two of us, without the annoyin' fish lady botherin' us for once." He joked, causing Frisk to giggle and get up with him as he started to pull himself off of the floor. A night out sounded like it could be some fun. Sort of like another date. They hadn't had a real date since her birthday, since that wonderful night she would never forget. It was a time that had meant a world to her, a world to both of them.
"What should we do though? You want to go eat somewhere? I'm not wearing my nice dress." Frisk told him with a giggle, while Sans grinned and chuckled in return. On her birthday she had worn a wonderful black dress, similar to the one she had worn at that party. The one Sans had seen her in, seeing her like a princess for the first time where his jaw almost practically hit the floor. He knew it would have had it been possible.
"ya don't need to wear a nice dress. ya look amazin' wearin' anythin'." Sans told her, as they made their way to the elevator, waving towards Grillby on their way out once they had reached the main floor to head out onto the street, into the alley way. True, it was a bit of a walk to get to the car, but it's not like neither of them minded. Sans did keep a tighter hold of Frisk's hand though, considering it was starting to get dark, (and he was overprotective of her), there could be anyone about.
"Should we go to the same place we went for my birthday?" Frisk suggested, while the skeleton agreed, liking the sound of that. That place had had a nice atmosphere to it. The music, the food, even the people chattering away had given a nice feeling to the building. What a lovely place it was to have another fantastic date. Though... It probably would be a date that would have to wait another time. Considering something just had to get in the way as they were walking down the street together, hand in hand.
"Don't move!" An unknown voice yelled from behind them suddenly, catching the human and the monster off guard. Spinning around to face the voice, they were confused and slightly startled when they saw it was a man, with a gun. Except he didn't look like some kind of strange robber, like a hobo trying to mug them upon the street. No, instead he looked like some kind of men in black figure - like the kind of cliche CIA men you saw in the movies... Wait.
"Hands upon your head, right NOW!" Another voice shouted at them, and it was out of nowhere that the couple found themselves surrounded by a couple of men and women with guns, and cars parked nearby with flashing lights. Eyes wide, Frisk did as she was told, and begrudgingly, so did Sans, glaring around at these strangers who were pointing guns at them. Man. He really hated to be on the receiving end of that.
"Good job! I knew it, that I'd never let that punk get away." A female voice. Once they came into view, it was very easy to see just who had thrown him under the bus. Undyne. How in the world had she managed to figure him out? He had been so sure that he had kept his secret well hidden. That he hadn't slipped up at all. He was confident on it. Not even a speck of doubt. So, how...? "You're probably wondering how I figured you out. Papyrus is slightly to blame for that."
"Wait, he told you?" Frisk blurted in shock, only for the fish to grumble and roll her eye, as if the human girl had said the stupidest thing all night.
"Not exactly. It took some measures. Drastic. But we got him to talk."
"what do ya mean by that? what did ya do to him?!" Sans seethed, almost seeming ready to step towards Undyne with hostility, at least until he felt someone knee him in the back of his knees and he fell over onto the ground, grunting in slight pain as he fell over. The fish glared down at him, standing over him with authority.
"Relax. We're the CIA, we're not scumbags like you punks are. I simply got him to do a lie detector test, and he tried very, very well to lie. He really did. It's sad, really. It's only because he admires you so greatly. But you're a failure of a brother to him. A bad influence. Someone who deserves to go to prison. This ends here, Sans the skeleton. Cuff him." Undyne ordered, towards one of the other CIA members, who were about to step forward, to put hand cuffs upon the skeleton.
"go to hell!" Sans barked, clicking his fingers, causing sudden magic bones to form out of the ground, knocking most of the CIA members, even Undyne, to the ground. "frisk, run!" Sans yelped, picking himself up to his feet as he grabbed her hand and at that moment, they began to sprint off down the road, hoping they would make it around the next corner, so that hopefully maybe somewhere they could hide and get away, just like their simulation training.
"Get back here!" Undyne shouted. "Get back here, or I'll fire!" Undyne continued on, pulling out her gun. She would have preferred to use magic, but unfortunately it was under strict rule that she wasn't really supposed to use magic unless absolutely necessary. And a small gunshot wound probably wouldn't be enough to kill the skeleton. Seeing as they were still running, she aimed the gun, and just like that, fired a couple of shots.
Hearing the gun shots go off, it was a shock. A huge one. A terrifying one. Knowing that bullets were flying and that they were coming towards them, made Frisk want to scream. Though, they weren't coming for her specifically. No, they had been aimed at the monster who she heard grunt, and then collapse to the floor, tumbling over onto his front. It had been a grunt of pain, of discomfort.
"Sans!" Frisk cried, going to kneel down at his side, turning him over onto his back to look at his face. The expression he had right now, it was heartbreaking. Clearly, he was hurting. She could see it in his eyes, even if he tried to hide it with a forced, pained smile. No. No, not like this. She couldn't let things end like her nightmare, she couldn't. She couldn't let Sans die!
Without thinking, Frisk picked up the gun that Sans kept hidden away at all times on him, and she turned off the safety faster than you could say any word in the English language. She didn't think, she didn't hesitate. All she did was begin to pull the trigger, aiming for anyone who she could gun down in her fury for shooting the man she loved. Quickly the people ducked for cover behind their cars, at least until her bullets ran out and she had nothing left. Just tears flowing down her face, while Sans was trying to tell her to run.
"Shoot her!" Someone ordered. Frisk dropped the gun to the floor, ready to accept her fate. All her training had been for nothing, hadn't it? This was really how things were going to end. They had been found out, and now their lives were over. They wouldn't get a happy ending. They wouldn't have a marriage, a family... They wouldn't get to die, cosy in their beds, happy over the life they had lived. Neither of them would get any of that... Would they?
Closing her eyes tightly, Frisk heard Sans scream "NO!", before hearing gunfire. Except... She didn't feel anything. She didn't feel any pain, no stinging, nothing. No bullets had hit her, but... Why? Slowly, she opened her eyes, shocked to see that a big truck had pulled up, pulling up in front of them to keep them safe. One of the doors that was on their side opened, and it revealed... Papyrus in the front seat! And in the other seat, who was currently getting out was... Gaster.
"SANS!" Papyrus ran over as fast as his legs would take him, kneeling down to his brother's side, while the oldest skeleton stared at his little brother with shocked eyes. The burning sensation from the bullets hitting and breaking his bones was the least of his worries right now, when he saw his little brother before him, not seeming to be on the same side as the others.
"w-what are ya doin' here?"
"NEVER MIND THAT. FRISK, HELP ME GET HIM INTO THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. DAD WILL KEEP US DEFENDED." Papyrus mentioned, while Frisk nodded, as she and the tallest skeleton went to either side of Sans. Frisk took his legs, while Papyrus went to lift him by the shoulders. While they were fussing about, trying to get Sans into the truck, Gaster glared back at all the CIA members who were standing in newfound shock. They hadn't been expecting Sans to have people to help him.
"You want to get to my son? You're going to have to get through me first." Gaster seethed, his eyes glowing with magic, as he was very, very angry with the way they had been treating his boys. When Papyrus had the whole incident with Undyne, he had managed to escape out of the building after failing the lie detector, and he had gone to Gaster for help. He had been lucky to be able to track him down. Gaster was horrified that Papyrus had such pressure put on him, and it wouldn't go unpunished.
"You're interfering with the law! Get the fuck out of the way!" Undyne seethed, while Gaster just smirked, letting out a small scoff at Undyne's words. Did she really think that yelling at him in such a way would frighten him? Because it wasn't working. Matter of fact, these monsters and humans that were standing before him were actually pretty puny in his eyes. He would gladly take them on for the sake of his sons.
"Heh. You think I don't know that? But I would gladly go against the law the moment you hurt my family." Gaster bluntly told her, seeing the anger build up within her face. Upon the order to fire, the CIA began to try and shoot the skeleton, only for him to raise a hand with minimum effort and he formed a magic shield before him. Swinging his other hand, he formed a Gaster blaster, aiming it for majority of those who were opposed to them. Just as it fired, many of them tried to run, or jump out of the way, to not much avail.
"Dammit! I'm not going to let him get away again!" Undyne screamed, forming a spear and running up to smash it against Gaster's magic shield. Seeing the shield began to crack, and the spear was breaking through, the skeleton man formed a bone within his hand, having it just in time to deflect the spear that could have stabbed him in the eye had he not brought it up fast enough to hold her attack off. "What is the matter with you? How could you even let your family be involved in such things?"
"Why? It started because I love them. Because I want to protect them. I wanted to be able to feed my family, even if it meant getting my hands messy. You? You have a well paid job, you're praised for what you do. Me? Us? People like my family are just those that people look down on in society because we're not good enough. I was doomed to be judged from the start. It's not like I have a reputation to keep sturdy, is it?" Gaster grinned, before forming another Gaster blaster to quickly make her jump away. He could hear the truck beginning to roar into life behind him, getting ready to drive away.
"HURRY DAD!" Papyrus called to him, while Gaster chuckled.
"Don't worry, son. I'm right behind you." He told him. Starting the truck, Papyrus began to drive forward, going as quick as he would be able to down these roads, in this truck, while Gaster quickly threw another attack, and then jumped upon his Gaster blaster, flying away after the truck, while Undyne screamed after him in frustration.
Teleporting inside the truck, Gaster saw Frisk and his oldest son, sitting inside. Frisk was just sitting on the floor, as Sans was resting his head in her lap, his eyes closed. Frowning, Gaster went to look over his unconscious body, wondering how he was doing. He glanced towards Frisk's face, that was staring down at the skeleton, clearly worried for him. "...He's going to be alright. By the looks of it, Papyrus tried to heal his wounds some."
"Yeah, I know..." Frisk sighed sadly. "It's just... Where do we go from here? We've been found out. We'd have to hide forever to escape from Undyne. Our lives are practically over." She whispered. Was having a happy life even possible after something like this? True, they were all still alive, only just but... How long would this whole thing last? Would they be on the run for weeks, months, years before they would get caught eventually?
"We'll get you out of town. Away from here. Keeping you hidden away in the headquarters might not be too difficult for awhile until we are able to get you away. They won't be able to arrest you or Sans." Gaster explained. He was willing to do such a thing to keep his son safe. Now the question was what would Papyrus do? He would have to hide away with them.
"But what about you? She knows you now too. Which means you'll have to keep hiding away." Frisk murmured, going to stare back down at the unconscious skeleton, while Gaster weakly chuckled and shrugged, not seeming that bothered. He had already lived his life, had his time outdoors. He wouldn't mind spending most of his time hiding away. Especially if he still got to stay with Grillby. It wouldn't be all bad.
In the events of every bad thing, there could be a good thing.
