Alone Time [57]

No way. No way in hell was Frisk leaving things the way that they were after that stupid argument. She wanted a straight honest answer from Sans; she wasn't going to stop until she got one. Not even if he yelled at her. For once, she wouldn't back down. For once, she wouldn't get scared. She would stay determined.

Thanks to Papyrus driving her there (with directions from her), Frisk reached outside Sans' apartment. She hoped the others didn't mind that she had suddenly disappeared, but this needed to be sorted out and it needed to be sorted out now. "Thank you, Papyrus. If the others asked, just tell them we went for a walk. Sans can drive us back if I'm able to sort this whole thing out."

"OKAY, FRISK." Papyrus nodded. He knew that she was really the only person who could fix this problem with Sans. The whole issue did involve her, and while Papyrus wanted to tell her what Sans was mad about, this was his secret to tell, if he was going to.

Waving goodbye to Papyrus, Frisk got out of the car, watching him drive off. With a sigh, she turned on her heel towards Sans' apartment. Hopefully, this would lead to results. She could only hope though. The last thing she wanted was for them to go back to fighting, to not getting along, for things to be uncomfortable.

Getting to the right floor, Frisk found herself standing at Sans' door, waiting for a moment. Sighing, the human decided to slowly raise her fist to the door, knocking on it a few times. Then, she waited for some kind of answer. For a moment, she did hear movement inside, but no one opened the door. "Sans? I know you're in there."

"frisk, just go away." Sans answered back, sounding fed up. Frowning, Frisk answered.

"No. I want to fix this. It's your birthday, we shouldn't be fighting like this." She waited for some kind of answer, only to not get one. "Please open the door." Silence followed for a few seconds after her question, until she heard footsteps coming towards the door. The door was unlocked and left slightly ajar, but wasn't opened completely.

Assuming this was her invitation inside, she slowly pushed open the door, just to see Sans walking back towards his room, his back turned to her. "Sans." She spoke, closing the door. Hearing his name, he stopped in his tracks.

"why did ya come after me, frisk?" Sans questioned, before slowly turning towards her. Her eyes widened a little in surprise, seeing what looked like tear stains around the bottom of his eye sockets and down his cheekbones. Had he been crying?

"Because I'm your friend." She frowned when he scoffed at that. "I just want to try and be here for you. Clearly something is wrong. So just tell me."

"no." Sans bluntly said, irking Frisk somewhat.

"Sans..."

"i said no! how about ya go back to havin' andrew suck on your face!" Sans growled angrily, before realising what he had said. Shit. That wouldn't make her realise, would it? He saw her give him a look of bewilderment.

"What?! Why have you got to say something like that for? He just kissed me on the cheek, that's all. Then all of a sudden you randomly flipped out." Frisk answered back with her eyebrows furrowed at the skeleton. He growled.

"oh for fuck sake! fine! fuckin' fine! ya wanna know why i've been so mad today?! because i fuckin' realised i had feelings for ya, but ya decided to abandon me!" Sans barked.

Wait, what...? He...? Frisk was shocked. Speechless. Sans.... Was in love with her? She couldn't believe it. He had seemed like he had hated her. He had literally treated her like she was dirt on the bottom of his shoe, that she was someone who he wanted absolutely nothing to do with. That was what he wanted, right?! Ever since they met, he acted like that was all he wanted! So why was he getting mad at her over all of this?

"That's not true!"

"isn't it? as far as i'm concerned, ya started spendin' time with andrew after i rejected your confession. ya stopped talkin' to me for ages." Sans pointed out. Now that just wasn't fair!

"Well, unlike you, he was actually there to fucking comfort me!" Frisk snapped at him, seeing him frown a little, his eyes widening a tad at her snapping. "Yeah, when Toriel let him stay with us, I once broke down in front of him because of how much you hurt me. I told him everything, and he listened to me. He was sympathetic, and he gave a damn, he didn't judge. You? You just left me on the damn sidewalk to sob my heart out! Not just that, but it took you a pretty long time to apologise. How do you think I would feel?!" Frisk retorted, not even giving Sans a chance to reply. He had opened his mouth to answer, but she stopped him from saying a single word in response. She wasn't done ranting. "You broke my heart, Sans. If you were feeling that way about me, you should have just said so. Rather than being so arrogant!" Frisk finished, before going to turn around to head back towards to door, momentarily rendering the skeleton speechless.

Was that it then? Was he just going to lose his chance with being with her? Was this her rejecting his love? To him it sure seemed like it. Honestly, he didn't know if he could take that. The pain of being rejected by the person he cared so deeply about. She drove him crazy and he didn't know why. He never asked to feel this way, at the beginning he had never wanted to feel this way. However, the last thing he wanted was to watch as Frisk continued to be with Andrew. He really couldn't stand it anymore. He wouldn't take it!

"frisk!" Sans called after her, causing her to stop and look towards him.

"What?!" Frisk snapped, glaring at the skeleton. She had tried so hard to bury down the things she felt, but now Sans had to ruin everything. He had to upset her again. He had to blame everything on her like he always did when a problem occurred.

With narrowed eyes, Sans had paused for just a second, before making a decision. He paced towards her and she gave him a slightly bewildered and somewhat scared look that he was going to hit her or something, like maybe he had just finally been fed up with her and he'd break that promise to Toriel he always spoke about. Not that she wanted to believe he would do such a thing to her, but... She had almost opened her mouth to tell him to stop, to not hurt her. Instead, he had done something completely different.

Standing in frozen shock, Frisk found Sans' mouth placed upon hers in a kiss. Her eyes were wide with surprise, wondering what she was supposed to do. Right now, she was actually kissing Sans. This was something she had dreamt about for the longest time, but... Andrew.

Despite the thoughts that were whirling around on the inside of her head, slowly she sunk into the kiss, going to carefully bring her hands up, wrapping them around the back of his neck. For a moment, Sans opened his own eyes a little, seeing Frisk's closed ones, and her red blushing cheeks. Did she... Really still love him then? Was Andrew just a rebound to her like Chara had said he likely was?

"frisk... i... i love ya." Sans said, staring back at Frisk who had now blinked open her eyes. "i... i love ya so much... as scary as it is for me to say it. but i just can't take it anymore! i can't keep keepin' what i feel to myself anymore. it's been drivin' me insane... i know before i treated ya like shit, i know i wasn't a good person to ya. i've never really been good at bein' a good person to anyone, not anymore... but ya... somehow ya made me fall in love with ya. and i don't just want to stand on the side lines and pretend i'm not feelin' what i'm feelin', frisk. it hurts too much... so, i'm tellin' ya the truth. i love ya, so much.

She didn't know what to do or say. Hearing him say that, it... It was amazing. It was mind blowing. It was something she never imagined him saying to her. She felt like she still cared about Sans too, that's why her heart was beating rapidly in her chest like she had ran a marathon. She wanted to be here with him, but then at the same time, she felt terrible for it. She was betraying Andrew, someone who clearly cared about her.

"S-Sans..." She was cut off by another kiss from him, not just that but he appeared to softly growl into her mouth as an invitation to shush and let him enjoy it. Somehow... She didn't say no and once again, she found herself feeling like she was just floating, like she was just far, far away from all the world's troubles and worries.

The kiss, it was definitely passionate for their first, well, now second kiss. Not that she wasn't returning the passion in the long overdue kiss that they were sharing, their mouths moving in rhythm with each other. To tell the truth, the human was surprised to find that Sans was a pretty good kisser. Not just that but it suddenly felt like she had become better at it herself, just because she was with Sans.

How things were now, it was almost like they had never had an argument a couple of seconds prior. Moments ago, Frisk thought that maybe Sans was going back to wanting to hate her, that he wanted to get rid of her. Instead, he admitted he was in love with her, which sent what felt like adrenaline rushing through her veins, and it caused her heart to hammer in her chest.

Continuing to show how much they meant to each other with the movement of just their mouths alone, Sans carefully went to wrap his arms around her, while her arms were still held around the back of his spine, and she felt like her feet were being lifted somewhat off the ground, because they were. For a moment, Sans had pulled away from the kiss as he was lifting Frisk up into his arms, holding her body close to his, and they both stared into each other's eyes, before entwining their mouths once more.

She didn't even complain when Sans started to move, still holding her close, and she had a feeling she knew exactly where he was heading with her still being held in his arms. His room. Her cheeks began to madly burn at the thoughts going on inside her head, the possible things that could happen right now, with both of them practically yearning for each other.

Her thoughts were trying to block out the screaming voice inside her head, reminding her of Andrew. But that voice was too far away now for her to listen right now. She knew how she felt for Sans, how she never stopped feeling for him. She adored him. Truthfully, part of her never understood why, but it was what she felt.

And when Sans had reached his room, the last thing he did was that he made sure to kick the door carefully shut with his foot, rendering the two completely alone.
