13: THE CELL

AUTHOR'S POV

Hunter's Mansion,
02:06 am

Hunter grabbed Draven's collar and slammed him against the wall behind him. His eyes were full of rage which was piercing through Draven's terrified eyes.

" S-sir, I swear I don't know where she is. I was only treating her as a patient. I didn't even know her real name until-". He paused gazing at Dash who was standing a little away from both of them, having his hands in his pocket with a tilted head. " ...h-he mentioned it during the investigation". Draven said swelling his saliva to wet his dry throat.

He haven't got a drop of water since he had stepped inside the mansion. He was treating Vi's wounds since evening but suddenly Hunter and Dash decided to show up.

Dash sent some of Hunter's men to the orphanage home where they had brought Vi from and came to know about his sibling Caden. Dash was right for thinking that they are related after hearing their surnames.

They are siblings but Dash and Hunter's mind isn't processing how's Caden connected to Grace?

They have no idea that it was just a coincidence. Only if Vi and Grace would have run in opposite directions that night. Then Vi would have got into the accident with Caden and he would have found his sister. On the other hand instead of Vi who got caught while selling the ring Grace would have got caught and sent back to Hunter's mansion.

But there's something called destiny. The cruel fate of Grace leads her to the robbers who are using her without her knowing. And that's the reason Dash and Hunter are now behind Caden because they know that he's gonna use Grace against them to approach Vi.

But again the question is... why is Grace supporting Caden? Did she know Torres siblings before she was taken to Hunter's Island? Because she supported Vi to escape first now living with Caden without any complaint.

If it's not like that... then it means she hate Hunter so much that she's ready to live with a stranger or that stranger has captivated her.

They are only able to join clues like this because for Dash and Hunter, Grace hasn't lost her memories. Draven has never mentioned it nor it was on his laptop to be found by Hunter's men in the Hospital as Scott has deleted all the data about Grace's mental health.

In their conclusion, only three people can answer their questions. First is Caden who isn't a cup of tea to be found so easily. He's been dodging cops for years now, hiding is what he has become an expert in.

Second is Draven who isn't opening his mouth and keeps on repeating the same sentence that he have no idea about Caden and Grace. That is true he really doesn't know where Caden lives and all. He only supports Caden because Caden has favored him before.

The third one is Vi who's unconscious. Hunter has been asking Vi about Grace since she has got caught and he knows that she has no idea about Grace but now they need her as she's connected to Caden. Caden will hand Grace back to him only in return for Vi.

" Wake her up at any cost. Otherwise I'll rip you apart". Saying that Hunter pushed Draven then left the room followed by Dash.

Draven slide down the wall and palmed his forehead. His chest was moving back and forth out of fear. It was the first time he saw Hunter. Only in a meeting, he understood why the whole world fears him.

No one knows Kings by their faces. But Draven has seen Hunter now. Not only this but he also has taken to his mansion. There's no way he's gonna get out of this Island alive.

He glanced at Vi who screamed even though she was unconscious. She's been doing this from time to time. That's because she was getting panic attacks even in her sleep.

He had no idea that Caden has a sister. Neither does he know where Caden lives and what the trio has planned to do with Grace.

He only know that he have a wife and three years old daughter in New York who must be waiting for him to come back home. Only if they know that he is in another corner of the world.

Soon the door clicked opened again revealing some worker sent by Dash with a stretcher. They picked up Vi and made her wounded figure lay on the stretcher. They also took Draven with them downstairs.

After a few minutes of walking, they reached the end of the mansion. Only by looking at the door, Draven concluded what it can be.

It was the dark basement where Hunter keep his prisoners. But because Vi was nearly dead and Draven had to treat him Hunter decided to give them a little service.

There were some lock-ups. They pass by some. Draven was looking at a lot of helpless people. But he couldn't help them.

Soon they stopped inside an empty lock up. It has a bed with a worn-out sheet and a pillow.

Those workers carefully made Vi lay on it and signalled Draven to get inside.

They all seem robotic. They speak when it is too necessary otherwise only nod their heads. Entering inside he turned to see the hard gate getting close and those workers left the basement.

He removed his doctor apron and was about to place it on the bed but he felt something in its pocket. Knowing what's that object was he immediately pulled it out.

Mobile. They forgot to take it from him. He breathed out looking down at the wallpaper. His daughter was on it he smiled.

" Doctor". Draven's blood ran cold when he heard a manly voice. He raised his head to see a worker standing outside the gate with a food trolley.

Draven thought it was some of his last breaths but that worker seemed calm. He simply opened the gate, pushed the trolley inside then glanced up at Draven who was frozen on his spot.

" There's no network connection except for King". Saying that he expanded his hand.

Draven looked down at his mobile before handing it to that worker who left the cell after that.

Draven sighed heavily finding himself completely helpless. He knows until Vi will get her consciousness they won't show up.

He took a seat on the dusty floor, grabbed a water bottle from the food trolley, and gulped half of it down in one go. He had no appetite. He closed his eyes and rested the back of his head on the wall.

Suddenly he heard some weird noises. He opened his eyes only to see some movements in the cell which was opposite from his. All the cells were lightless only a golden blub was in between the passage was on.

His lips parted when he saw bloodied hands with handcuffs in his wrist grabbed the rod of the gate. Soon his left body came towards the light.

Draven audibly gasped looking at the teenager's condition. Brown messy curly hair was falling on his face hiding his eyes, dried blood from his mouth to his neck, he was shown in blood and bruises.

" T-that". He Painfully uttered looking at the food trolley in Draven's cell.

Draven grabbed a plate from the food trolley and filled it with some fruits and meal before pushing it from a few inches' place under the gate. He forwarded it as much as he can towards the boy who expanded his hand towards the plate.

Draven's shoulders relaxed as that boy's hand reach the plate but not a second later his eyebrows crashed looking at him as he grabbed the fork from the plate tightly and brought it closer to his wrist.

He started twirling it in his handcuff's keyhole. He tried and tried but it was of no use. His breath got uneven because of the continued failure. He threw the fork away and groaned so loudly that it echoed it the whole basement.

Many prisoners came towards their gates hearing the helpless boy.

" No...no...no...no...NO". Draven shouted grabbing the rods of the gate as the boy bit his own wrist.

His blood started oozing out of his wrist veins and life started leaving from his beautiful Hazel eyes.

" GUARDS". Draven shouted, beat the gate for help looking at the boy's body falling back on the freezing floor of the basement.

Well, no one came.

A silent tear escaped Draven's eye witnessing the miserable condition of the fluttering boy. Soon the moment calmed indicating another innocent death.

It's nothing new for the old prisoners to see people dying like this but hard to witness for the new ones, especially for Draven as he's a doctor but couldn't be able to help him.

This is not even a vexer of what Hunter King does with his betrayers and those who disobey him. He don't kill everyone... instead he leave some to die by themselves.

He's the God of his Island and the people who live there. That place is own by the devil who doesn't know what forgiveness and mercy is.

Be a mess that no one dares to mess with.
