"Rose let's go!" Manik said as he got ready.

Nandini was sitting on the bed lost in her thoughts when she heard his voice. She looked up and saw him standing infront of the mirror setting is hair.

She nodded a no.

"What? You don't want to go college?" He asked as he saw her nodding a no from the mirror.

She again nodded.

"Are you sure?" She nodded a yes.

She still had to clear her mind from all what she saw yesterday. It just couldn't vanish in one night right?

"Okay! Stay at home! Don't step out of the mansion! I'll be back soon!" He informed as he spared her a last glance and moved out.

Now she was all alone in the whole mansion and this quite didn't go well with her. She moved out of the bed and started to roam in the mansion.

Unknowingly while roaming she found herself in the basement of the mansion.

From a little far she could hear grunts and groans of pain. Being curious she started walking in that direction.

But before she could push the door open and actually see what was inside a hand clasped her wrist stopping her to do so. Her eyes widened with fear as she realised it maybe Manik who saw her intruding.

Slowly gulping she turned around only to sigh in utter relief that it wasn't Manik. But wait! She had seen him somewhere.

She looked at him with confusion in her eyes trying to remember where she had seen him.

"Nandini! What are you doing here?" He asked seriously.

"I-I was j-just ..."

"Come lets go!" He said and tried to drag her but she resisted.

He stopped and looked at her confused and fearful state.

"You don't remember me?" He asked and she nodded a no.

"I'm Cabir! Manik's buddy? Remember?" He said and looked at her expectantly.

It then clicked her. He had come to meet her on the first day when she was trying to run away. She immediately retrieved her hand and stepped away from him in fright.

Now it was his turn to look at her in confusion.

"Nandini what -" He took a step forward but stopped hearing her.

"D-Don't c-come near m-me!" She was starting to sweat.

"Okay! Okay! I won't come near you! Relax!" He surrendered raising his hands in the air and taking a step back when he saw her shivering figure.

She moved away from him and then suddenly ran away from there to her room.

Cabir called her out but she paid no heed and kept running. He too followed her to her room. When he reached there he knocked on the door worried for her.

"Nandini! Are you okay? Listen I'm not going to harm you!" He tried to convince her but she didn't reply.

"Nandini please let me in!" He said softly but still got no reply.

"You're like my sister Nandini! Let me be there for you!" He whispered but still heard nothing.

With a defeated sigh he turned around to leave when a click sound made him halt in his steps. He slowly turned and saw Nandini standing there looking at him with tears in her eyes. His heart merely melted at the sight. She looked so fragile like a doll. So innocent to harm.

He smiled at her but she didn't.

She moved inside and he followed her. Once they were inside she started fidgeting nervously.

Cabir sighed.

"Nandini relax! Why are you getting scared?" He asked and she looked at him with the same fear.

"You can share you know! I'm not that bad!" He wiggled his eyebrows and she laughed a little making him relieved.

"I don't want to stay here!" Her voice was so timid that he swore if the room wasn't silent it would have gone unheard.

"I know this is all very new and scary to you! And the way you were suddenly brought in this world didn't really help but, but when I say this I'm completely being neutral about it. Manik is not that bad! He is just that broken that he thinks happiness is a myth! And I'm not saying this because I want to favour him but because I want him to be happy in his life for once!" He completed and looked at her face which was completely blank.

Suddenly she chuckled. He didn't quite like that.

"You say he's not that bad! You're right he's not that bad but he kidnapped me and caged me here! He's not that bad but kidnapped a son's father who just happened to be my ex-fiance! He's not that bad but he killed a guy just because he touched me!" She said with fire blazing in her eyes.

"What are you talking about?" Cabir asked.

"Well your bestfriend killed those people yesterday when we were driving back. He killed all of them. He killed a guy just because he touched me and this got him crazy. Can you believe that? I mean he's so heartless and cruel!" She spat with venom.

"Well for a fact I agree he is heartless and cruel but not as you think Nandini! Did you notice the guys having any weapons?" He asked.

"Yes they were having different weapons!" She answered.

"So tell me how are you not supposed to kill them when they could clearly slit your throats off and then bury your bodies somewhere in the jungle so that no one would know?" At his question her eyes widened as she looked at him.

She thought of the possibility and gulped.

"But he could have just beaten them up and leave! Why kill?" She whined.

Cabir took a deep breath and then settled beside her.

"Look Nandini the guyss whom you are trying to show pity are not worth it! In this Mafia world no one is a pure or an innocent soul. People kill. People murder. The guyss over whom you are mourning were also killers. They also had killed many innocent lives. And if you want to know then our Mafia kingdom runs differently from the others!" He said.

"How?" She asked.

"Well that you can ask Manik! All I will say is we are the good Mafia's!" He stated proudly making her giggle.

Once more he smiled at her seeing her giggling.

"You'll eventually start to understand things Nandini. Just be patient with what you see or deal with. Be it Manik or Mafia things!" He patted her head and she nodded sighing.

All of a sudden she moved close to him hugging him by his waist startling him. Nonetheless he hugged her back smiling.

"Can I call you Bhai?" She choked while asking him.

"You can call me anything you're comfortable with my sweet little sister!" He whispered back smiling from ear-to-ear.

"Thankyou Bhai for being there for me! You know I feel so alone in this mansion!" She confessed emotionally.

"Not anymore! I'm there na! I'm there for you whenever you need me! Just call me and I'll be there!" He said as he pecked the top of her head while caressing it.

She just hummed hugging him tightly and hiding her face in his chest.

"You know I so want you to meet my wife!" Cabir said in a daze.

"Wife?" Nandini broke apart and looked at him shocked.

He nodded.

"Who is she?" She asked excitedly like a child and he chuckled.

"Yes she is a girl!" He teased while she glared at him.

"Okay! Sorry! Her name is Navya! And she doesn't stay here!" He informed and she pouted.

"Why don't you both stay here!" Nandini whined making Cabir laugh.

"We can't Nandini! This is Manik's house and so we stay at ours!"

"But Manik is your best buddy right! Then he won't say anything! Please please stay here no!" She pleaded.

"Nandini we can't and besides Navya can't do much up down in this state. It isn't good ..."

"One sec! What do you mean by in this state?" She narrowed her eyes at him.

"Um well she is - she is kinda pregnant now!" He said sheepishly.

"Oh my god Bhai! Congratulations!" Nandini squealed jumping on the bed.

"Calm down sis!" Cabir said but suddenly Nandini stopped and sent him a hard glare.

"What?" He asked.

"She is pregnant and you left her alone!" She accused him and he rolled his eyes.

"My baby sis we just found this out two days back! I know my responsibilities and will take care of her!" He smiled.

"No now you both are definitely going to stay here with us!" Nandini announced stubbornly and his smile dropped.

"Nandini we -"

"Bhai just think if you got some urgent work and you have to leave then will you leave her alone? What if she needs something and you won't be there? Someone has to be there for her right?" She explained and he thought about it.

Surely their lives were most unpredictable. He couldn't agree more with her on this.

Sighing he nodded and she jumped in excitement.

"I can't wait to meet her!" She squealed.

"I'll just have a word with Manik!" Cabir said and just with that her all happiness died by listening his name.

"Bhai wait! Does he know?" She asked.

"Know what?" He asked confused.

"That your wife is pregnant?" She asked and Cabir nodded a no.

"We just found out and I had come here to tell you guyss this only!" He stated.

She looked at him in disbelief.

"You came like this?"

"What?"

"I mean you came to tell us about the most happiest moment of your life and that too without any cake?" She shot daggers at him.

Before he could reply they heard a roar.

"What the hell are you doing in my room Cabir!" Manik's voice boomed in the empty mansion.

Nandini looked at Cabir wide eye while Cabir had a bored expression.
