Part: 50 Our Happily Ever After (Final Part)

After mourning her aunt's death, Chloe fainted into Andrew's arms.

"Hey, Sunshine." He patted her cheek, anxious.

He draped his blazer over her and hurriedly carried her to the bed before calling the doctor.

Sitting beside her, he entwined his hand with hers. "I wish I could have fixed everything in time. I'm so sorry for your loss, Sunshine," he whispered, tears welling up as he gazed at her pale face before pressing his lips on her hand.

In no time, the doctor arrived. She examined Chloe and did some tests while Andrew sat there, silently shedding tears, holding Chloe's hand close to his heart.

"Sir, she's pregnant," the doctor said, giving him the unexpected news. He stared at her in surprise and disbelief.

"Really?" He asked, his voice laced with astonishment. Fresh tears rolled down his cheeks, and a smile appeared on his face, almost automatically.

The doctor nodded. "She fainted because she's weak and will need extra care."

Andrew nodded, smiling broadly at Chloe. After the doctor left, he turned his attention back to her.

"I just hope this good news eases your pain a bit," he murmured, stroking her cheek with his thumb.

He leaned down and kissed her forehead. "Thank you for this." He placed his hand on her belly.

"Hey little one, bring lots of happiness into your mom's life and take away all her pain," he whispered, kissing her belly. "You know, Daddy is so happy to know you're coming into our lives to complete us. Thank you. I can't wait to hold you in my arms."

He lay down beside Chloe, placing his hand over her belly, gazing at her with fondness.

After a few minutes, Chloe regained consciousness. Andrew was still watching her.

"How are you feeling now, Sunshine?" He asked, caressing her cheek, his eyes were filled with concern.

She gave him a blank look. "I don't know. I'm not feeling anything right now."

"I understand. Everything will be fine with time," he reassured her.

She shook her head. "I can never forgive myself, Andrew. She died because of me."

"No, it's not your fault. We both did everything to protect her, but sometimes, destiny is out of our hands. It was written in our fate. Life is like that—every pain makes us stronger. Death is something we can't control; we can only try our best, and we did that. I understand it's hard to accept right now, but I'm here for you. I'll help you through this pain," he explained, squeezing her hand. She stared at him blankly, which hurt him deeply.

"I wish this were all just a bad dream and that my aunt was still alive." Chloe closed her eyes dejectedly as tears streamed down her face. His heart broke seeing his Sunshine in so much pain.

She opened her eyes and stared at him with immense pain in her eyes. "You know, I wasn't strong as a child—I was scared. She made me strong. She taught me how to fight back. After my parents died in a car accident, my dad's brother took custody of me. He was like Dan; he and his wife tortured me, locked me in the storeroom, starved me, tied me up, and beat me. Even now, the memories of those tortures haunt me. Aunt Zia protected me from those devils and made me the strong, independent woman I am today. And in the end, she died because of me. She saved me as a child, and when it was my turn, I couldn't save her."

Andrew wasn't shocked by her past—he had expected it—but it still hurt to know his Sunshine had endured so much. He didn't know how to console her or assure her that everything would be okay. They silently stared at each other. He stood up and handed her a glass of water.

Andrew decided to tell her about the pregnancy later when she was more stable.

They had just returned from Zia's funeral. Chloe hadn't shed a single tear, not feeling anything. Her detached state was breaking Andrew's heart.

After a while, Andrew lay beside her on the bed, hugging her from behind. She stared at the walls with a blank expression, like a lifeless soul.

"Sunshine, talk to me. Don't stay silent like this. I'm here to listen," he whispered, stroking her hair.

"I feel so lost, Andrew. I don't understand anything. It's like I've lost myself. There's no strength left in me. I feel so devastated and empty inside," she muttered flatly, her words causing tears to slip down his cheeks. It was becoming unbearable for him to see his strong Sunshine in such a state.

"It's completely normal to feel this way right now, but trust me, everything will be fine. You'll find yourself again, and when you do, you'll be even stronger and braver. You'll shine even brighter. Just give yourself time, and remember—you're not alone in this. I'm with you," he whispered, kissing her temple from behind.

She finally turned her gaze to him and said, "I'm lucky to have you by my side during this hard time."

"I'll always be here for you, Sunshine," he whispered, placing a soft kiss on her forehead as a promise of his unwavering support.

"I want to tell you something. Maybe it'll help heal your broken soul." As he uttered after a few seconds of silence, she stared at him blankly, lost in her despair. He gently placed his hand on her belly and told her, "There's a life growing inside you, Sunshine. You're pregnant."

Her eyes brightened slightly, and a small smile appeared on her face, almost instinctively. "Really?" As she asked, a lone tear rolled down her cheek.

He nodded and cupped her face. "Yes, Sunshine, the symbol of our love is growing inside you," he smiled, pressing his forehead to hers.

"I can't believe it. In one day, God gave me both the worst and the best news. I don't know whether to be happy or to cry. Life is unexpected," she said, her tears now flowing from a mixture of joy and sorrow. The good news had given her a glimmer of hope, mending her broken soul like magic.

"That's why we should never lose hope. Happiness always comes after the darkest days," Andrew said, hugging her. "Our happiness is returning with our little one." Both of them now wore a beatific smile as she snuggled in his warm arms.

"You know, after watching my parents die in front of me, I never wanted to have a family because I was terrified of losing them again. But with you, I want to have our own little family and experience everything with you." She confessed as they pulled apart.

"Sunshine, I don't want to be part of the Mafia anymore. I don't want to live in fear every day of losing you or our baby. I want to go somewhere where nobody knows us and start a new life with you. I don't want this empty power where I can't even protect the people I love. I want a normal, happy life with you and our little one," he said, placing his hand on her belly. "And I want to have more babies with you."

She chuckled, and Andrew felt immense relief, grateful to see her smiling and laughing again. He silently thanked God for bringing them happiness at the right moment.

"Yes, Andrew, let's go somewhere else. I can't afford to lose you after my aunt. I don't want to wake up every day with the fear of losing you."She touched her forehead to his.

"You won't have to suffer anymore, Sunshine. Happiness is waiting for us." He whispered, kissing away her tears before gently kissing her eyelids. Then he kissed her lips softly and tenderly, pouring all his love into that one kiss as he cupped her face. She kissed him back with equal softness and love, running her fingers through his hair.

"I love you so much, Sunshine. You're the reason I'm becoming a better version of myself every day." He murmured against her lips, gazing deeply into her eyes.

"And I'm falling more in love with you with each passing day." She replied before planting a lingering kiss on his lips.

Eight Months Later

Andrew and Chloe started their new life in another country, where no one knew them. They set up their fashion company, which became famous within just a few months. Andrew handed over all his business to Mike, making him the new Mafia boss.

Chloe gave birth to a little baby girl. Andrew sat beside her bed, cradling their little princess close to his heart. Chloe was still unconscious. He admired their daughter's beautiful features, tears of happiness trickling down his cheeks as a beatific smile spread across his face. He had eagerly awaited this day, and now that she was finally in his arms, he was speechless. Their baby girl, wrapped in a white sheet, had an angelic face—big eyelashes, a tiny nose, thin lips, and soft cheeks.

"You're so beautiful, my little sunshine." As he kissed her forehead, she smiled in her sleep.

A few minutes later, Chloe regained consciousness and saw Andrew pacing across the room, holding their little angel. A smile flashed on her face as she took in the beautiful sight. Today, their baby had completed their family.

Andrew noticed her awake, and they beamed at each other with profound happiness. He walked over to her, the baby still sleeping soundly in his arms.

"Our princess, our symbol of love, is finally with us." Chloe sat up, and Andrew gently handed their baby to her. As soon as Chloe laid eyes on her daughter, a contented smile spread across her face, and a lone tear rolled down her cheek. This moment was even more beautiful than she had ever imagined. She felt incredibly lucky to hold her daughter and become a mother. It was as though she was holding the entire world in her arms.

"Hello, my little princess. Welcome to the family." Chloe brushed her nose against the baby's. Their smiles grew even wider as their daughter responded with a precious smile.

Chloe glanced up at Andrew. "Andrew, she's so beautiful."

"She's as beautiful as you, Sunshine." He replied, gently running his fingers through the baby's soft hair. "Thank you so much for bringing her into this world." He leaned in and kissed Chloe's forehead.

"Andrew, could we name her Zia?" Chloe asked. "I want her to be like her aunt—brave and strong."

"Of course, Sunshine," he agreed. "But I also want her to be like her mommy. You're so strong and brave too. I want our daughter to be a fighter like you. My little sunshine." He leaned down and kissed Chloe softly on the lips.

Together, they gazed at their little baby, smiling with utter contentment. She was the light of their lives, the one who had completed them. They didn't need anything more. All they wanted now was to enjoy every little moment with their daughter. They wanted to laugh with her, cry with her, scream with her, sing with her, and dance with her. They wanted to do everything with her and cherish her for the rest of their lives.
