Part: 34 The Nightmare
In the evening, Chloe and Andrew lay in each other's arms on the net swing, watching the sunset. There was a soothing calmness in the moment, and their lips curled into contented smiles. Chloe was wearing a one-piece red lacy bikini, and Andrew was in only shorts. The cold breeze caressed them, sending chills down their spines as they were utterly lost in each other's warm embrace.
"I never thought watching the sunset could be this beautiful until now," Andrew broke the silence and whispered huskily in her ear. She simply smiled at him, gazing into his intense eyes.
She softly and chastely kissed his lips after clasping his face before whispering, "And I never thought being with someone could make my heart smile."
"Could I ask you something if you don't mind?" Andrew asked in a serious tone.
She pecked his lips. "Of course."
"First promise me you'll never push me away, ever," he asked, stroking her cheeks and fixing his eyes filled with profound love on hers.
Her eyes softened as she heard him. She just gazed at him lovingly. This was the first time someone had asked her to stay, the first time someone had asked her not to leave or push them away.
She hugged him, resting her head on his chest, and as she listened to his soothing heartbeat, a smile appeared on her face.
She whispered, "Even if I want to, I can't stay away from you, Andrew." She softly kissed his chest.
As her lips touched his chest, electricity coursed down his spine. He embraced her in his warm arms with a blissful smile on his face and kissed her hair. He never thought his life could be so beautiful. Now, he didn't want to lose her, ever. She was the only happiness in his life. She was truly his sunshine.
"You know, I didn't like the sunset before," he spoke as they pulled apart.
"Why?" she asked, raising her brows.
"Because it symbolizes the end. But now, having you as my sunshine, I'm finding it beautiful," he purred with so much love, gazing into her eyes. She was speechless and captured his lips in a passionate, loving kiss, clasping his face.
Then they lay down in each other's arms, feeling each other's warmth, not realising when they fell asleep in the swing.
After some time, he woke up and smiled at her. "She looks like an angel while sleeping," he thought, tucking her hair behind her ear and placing a soft kiss on her forehead. She smiled blissfully in her sleep in response to his kiss.
The cold breeze was blowing rapidly, and she was shivering in his arms from the chill, so he stood up and scooped her into his arms to take her inside the yacht's room.
He laid her down on the bed of the lavish room and lay down beside her, hugging her close to his heart. He pulled the quilt over them and fell asleep again, gazing at his beautiful sunshine.

"No! No! Please, don't shoot her! Please!" Andrew woke up from the nightmare, screaming Chloe's name. Tears were continuously falling from his eyes. He was sweating badly, breathing heavily, and shivering with fear. He felt immense pain in his heart as he recalled that incident. After so many years, this was the first time he woke up from a nightmare. It was also the first time he had felt this much fear of losing someone.
Chloe woke up as she heard his screams. Her eyes widened in shock when she saw him in such a devastating state—something she had never wanted to see.
"Andrew, what happened?" she asked anxiously, cupping his face in her palms. Hearing her voice, he engulfed her in his strong arms as if his life depended on that hug. Tears continued to trickle down his cheeks as he tightened his hold, assuring himself that she was with him and that it was just a nightmare.
"I don't want to lose you. I thought I lost you," he cried out, pulling her closer to himself as if he wanted to keep her in his arms forever. Chloe was in shock to see him like this.
"Andrew, baby, relax. I'm here. You'll never lose me," she reassured him in a calm tone, rubbing his back. Though witnessing his condition, her heart broke down, she wanted to calm him down first. Her priority was to make him understand that, no matter what, she would never leave him. She would stay with him.
She started kissing his shoulder softly, rubbing his back to calm him down. Her soothing kisses brought him some relief. She knew these nightmares never let people stay in peace; she was utterly aware of it herself. She knew that right now, all he wanted, all he needed, was assurance.
He sobbed like a small baby in her arms, and her heart broke into a million pieces. Seeing his vulnerability made her heartache. She was determined to calm him down at any cost because his condition was breaking her heart and driving her insane.
She didn't try to break the hug, knowing he needed it. She vowed to herself that this would be the last time he cried because of a nightmare—she wouldn't let it happen again.
After what felt like an eternity, she tried to break the hug, but he wouldn't let her. She took a deep breath and whispered, "Baby, let me see your face."
He shook his head and murmured, "No, I won't let you go," sobbing like a child.
She gently broke the hug and clasped his face. "I'm with you, and I'm not going anywhere," she stated, then started kissing every inch of his face. After each kiss, she assured him that she was with him.
"But what if you go away from me? I can't live without you, Sunshine," he cried out, gripping her face tightly.
Exhaling a deep breath, she cupped his face again and said sternly, "Look into my eyes, Andrew."
He gazed into her eyes like an innocent child, his own eyes filled with tears. Her eyes softened as she saw his innocence and vulnerability.
"Until your heart stops beating, mine will keep beating," she whispers, placing his hand on her heart. A small smile flashed on his face as he heard her soothing heartbeat. "Our hearts beat in sync, don't they?"
He nodded in response to her question, a small smile forming on his face.
She climbed over him and straddled his hips, her body pressed against his. Then, she leaned in and captured his lips with a gentle yet passionate kiss, her fingers ruffling his hair.
