Part: 21 A Blissful Kiss

Chloe mistakenly placed her hand on Andrew's wounded arm, and he hissed in pain.

"I'm sorry." She apologised, coming back to her senses, and then she moved away from him.

"It's okay," he responded, and she sat beside him.

They both thought about their accidental kiss and how they felt when their lips met. Now, they were craving more, finding it hard to resist each other.

Andrew took out his phone to call Mike. "Shit, there's no network. How will I contact Mike now?" he muttered in frustration, sliding the phone back into his pocket.

"Wow, thank you so much, God. Now I can spend more time in this dense forest with Mr. Handsome." As Chloe thought, a goofy smile flashed on her face.

After a few minutes of silence, Chloe spoke up, "Mr. Handsome."

He instantly turned his head toward her. "What?" he raised his brows.

"I'm feeling sleepy. Could I rest my head on your shoulder?" She asked, and he slightly nodded his head in response.

Her eyes shone, and she placed her head on his shoulder. She soon fell asleep because she was exhausted after a long day.

She slept peacefully while he gazed at her fondly, feeling as if an angel was resting her head on his shoulder. For the first time, he admired her while she slept, feeling a kind of peace he hadn't known before. His lips drew up in a contented smile. He could gaze at her angelic face all his life. He wasn't aware of what was happening to him.

He gently tucked her hair behind her ear, which had fallen over her face, disturbing her peaceful sleep. In the heat of the moment, he leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

As his lips touched her forehead, she instantly opened her eyes. He was only a few inches away from her. They gazed into each other's eyes intensely, and their warm breath caressed each other's lips, arousing their desires.

"When will you satisfy my longing for a kiss?" As she whispered, he snapped back to reality and moved away from her.

He stood up and said, "We have to find a network. Then my men can track our location."

She also stood up, smiling. "Couldn't we stay here longer? The weather is so nice, and you're so hot—what a deadly combination." She chuckled after saying this.

He stared at her sexy body again. He couldn't resist her, especially since she looked so tempting in a black lacy bra.

"Right now, you're looking hotter than me, Miss Walker," he said hoarsely, moving closer to her. Her eyes widened in surprise because she wasn't expecting this.

He grasped her bare waist and yanked her to him, smirking. She stared at him in disbelief and shock.

He moved closer to her, accelerating her heartbeat. "You know, ever since you took off your top, I haven't been able to take my eyes off your exquisite and luscious body," he whispered in her ear. Her breathing quickened, and goosebumps rose on her skin.

"You have a perfect and flawless body, Chloe." He stroked her belly, melting her with his touch. Her eyes closed, and she was utterly lost in the sensation. His touch sent chills down her spine and awakened her inner desires. She wanted to feel his hands all over her body. His touch was like heaven on earth for her. Only he could set her body on fire with a mere touch. He had such a profound effect on her.

They snapped back to reality as rain droplets fell on them. He released her waist and instantly pulled away. She cursed the rain for spoiling their intimate moment.

"I have to find a network." He took out his phone and waved it in the air, trying to catch a signal.

"I hope he never gets a signal and we stay here in this forest forever." As she wondered, a naughty grin flashed across her face.

Andrew looked at her and narrowed his eyes in confusion, seeing her smiling. "Are you mad or what? Why are you smiling like a fool?" He asked, irked.

"Yes, I'm crazy for you." She teased him and winked, annoying him more.

"Oh, God! Why do I always end up with her?" He murmured, frustrated.

"You are lucky, I guess." She chuckled.

"Shut up, just shut your mouth. One more word and I'll kill you." He warned her.

"Oh, I'm scared." She raised her hands, grinning at him.

"Argh! You're crazy," he groaned, shaking his head in disbelief.

"Only for you." She said in a husky tone, moving closer to him.

He rolled his eyes and took out his gun before pointing it at her, just to scare her.

"Shoot me if you can." She grasped the gun and placed it against her forehead, staring at him with no fear in her eyes.

She flinched as they heard a gunshot from far away.

"Hey, I was just joking!" She said, closing her eyes tightly.

He laughed hysterically at her adorable facial expression. She opened her eyes and got lost in his carefree laugh. For the first time, she saw him laughing like this and felt so good. He stole her heart all over again.

"So, finally I became your laughing medicine." She said in a teasing tone while he just faked a glare at her.

"You were scared, and I like it when people get scared of me." His lips curved into a smug smile.

"I wasn't scared." She responded, shooting him a glare.

"You were." He insisted, the smile not leaving his face.

"No, I wasn't. I was just playing around." She shrugged.

"Why?" He asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Well, didn't I get a beautiful reward for my acting?" She asked, pointing at his lips.

They heard the gunshot again from far away.

"Andrew, I think they're back." Her tone became serious.

"Shit. Chloe, you stay here, I'll go and check."

"No, I'm not going to leave you alone. In fact, you stay here, I'll check." She said, snatching the gun from his hand.

"Chloe, are you out of your mind? Shut up and, for once, listen to me." He shouted, taking her shoulder in a tight grip.

"Am I injured here?" She asked, shutting him up. "Tell me," she demanded, raising her brows at him.

"Still, they're my enemies and I don't want you to land in any trouble because of me. Is that so difficult to understand?"

"And then you say, you don't care." She rolled her eyes.

"Okay fine, I don't know why but I care for you." He confessed loudly, drawing her toward him by grasping her bare waist, and she gasped at his sudden and unexpected confession.

"Yes, I care for you." Now his voice softened and his hands reached for her face. Their intense gazes fixed on each other, and their hearts pounded in their chests.

She was surprised by his sudden confession that he cared for her. She felt like she was dreaming with her eyes open. She had seen the genuine concern in his eyes for her from the first day, but today he confessed it with his mouth, and she was in utter disbelief.

"I just want to keep you safe with me." He admitted, placing a soft kiss on her forehead. She closed her eyes in response as his lips touched her skin. "Forever." He added, fixing his eyes on her. She opened her eyes, deeply touched by his genuine confession. Nobody had cared for her before him. His words brought immense happiness to her heart.

"Really?" She asked in utter disbelief.

He gave her a slight nod. "Yes, and this is the first time I care for anybody. In fact, I never cared for myself. I never cared for anybody in my life. That's why I'm keeping you with me because I want to protect you." He stroked her soft cheeks with his thumbs, gazing at her with affection.

She was utterly lost in him. His soft touch sent chills down her spine. She had never felt like this before in her life. This moment was so peaceful that she wanted to stop time and get lost in this moment forever.

"And what if I say the same to you?" She asked him in a serious tone. "What if I say that I also don't want you to land in any trouble?" She didn't even realise when these words slipped out of her lips.

"But the difference is that you're in trouble because of me, and if something happens to you because of me, I'll never be able to forgive myself. For now, you're my priority, Chloe. I—"

She suddenly grabbed his collar and pulled him down. "We will fight together and protect each other." As she whispered against his lips, a rush of desire coursed through him, and he instinctively captured her sensuous lips, which had been craving his since the day her eyes fell on them.

As their lips met, everything around them disappeared. They felt like they had gotten their breath back after ages. They felt incredibly alive for the first time in their lives. They kissed each other so softly and smoothly as if their lips were made of glass. Her hands left his collars and moved up to his face. His long fingers curled around her neck below her ear, and his thumbs stroked her soft cheeks. They felt like their heartbeats were merging and their souls were murmuring sweet nothings. They were utterly lost in the kiss, tasting the sunshine on each other's lips. They felt the fire between them, the air around them growing hotter.

With this kiss, he realized that all his life he had been waiting for this moment and her. He had kissed before but never felt alive like this. The intensity of the kiss burned him alive and set her body on fire. This kiss was pure bliss for them, giving profound peace to their minds and souls and healing all their deep wounds.

Suddenly, they heard a gunshot nearby and were instantly pulled apart, their eyes widened in shock.
