"You know why Boss kidnapped and tortured your aunt?" Marie asked Chloe as she arranged dinner on the table for her.

Chloe looked at her and replied instantly with anger, "To show me that he's evil. I really hate him for doing that. How could he bring my aunt into this?"

"No, you're wrong."

Chloe narrowed her brows in confusion and asked, "What do you mean?"

"Boss did this because he wanted to keep you away from him. He thinks he's dangerous for you," Marie explained.

"I don't care about the reason. The fact is that he tortured my aunt for no fault of her own. I'm not going to stay with him. I'll run away," Chloe declared, boiling in anger.

"Your aunt was also involved in this plan. I saw them talking to each other," Marie revealed, causing Chloe's eyes to widen in shock.

"What! It means he didn't torture my aunt, it was all fake?" she asked, staring at her in utter disbelief.

Marie nodded. "Yes, they did this for your safety. Boss cares for you. You are special to him. Please, don't leave him."

Chloe said, "I hated him so much for torturing my aunt, but now, after knowing the truth, I'm not going to leave Mr Handsome."

A grin spread across her face. "Your plan was great to keep me away from you, but now it's my time to make you confess your feelings, Mr. Handsome," she murmured, staring straight ahead, her eyes filled with determination.

"Thank you so much for informing me about this, Marie," Chloe said, her eyes twinkling with happiness after learning the truth that Andrew didn't torture her aunt. However, she felt a bit angry too for what he had done.

"Could you please not tell the boss that you know the truth?" Marie asked her politely. Chloe just stared at her. "Because I don't want him to doubt me," Marie added.

"Don't worry, I won't tell him," Chloe assured her. They both exchanged small smiles.

"I hope the boss realises soon that you're perfect for him," Marie thought, looking at Chloe.

Marie cared for Andrew like a mother and she wanted to see him happy. She could clearly see that only Chloe's love could free him from his past and bring happiness back into his life.

After Marie left, Chloe called her aunt Zia, but she didn't pick up the phone. She messaged Andrew, but he didn't reply. She went to check his room, but he wasn't there. At last, she fell asleep, wondering about him and recalling how he had consoled her and gently kissed her forehead. She found so much peace in his arms. She was unknowingly falling in love with him.

The next day, Chloe made a plan to make Andrew confess that he cared for her. She woke up early in the morning and left the mansion after fighting with the guards. They didn't fight back as Andrew had strictly instructed them not to hurt her.

As she left, one of the guards followed her secretly, while another guard hurriedly called Andrew, but he didn't pick up as he was still asleep. The guard then went to Andrew's room to inform him.

He knocked on the door, and after a few minutes, Andrew opened it.

"What happened, Jack? What are you doing here so early in the morning?" Andrew asked.

"Bo-boss," Jack's lips trembled with fear.

Andrew frowned at him and shouted, "Speak up!"

"Boss, Chloe fought with us and went out of the mansion," Jack finally gathered the courage to tell him.

Andrew freaked out.

"What? Where? Why did you let her go?" he demanded, grabbing Jack's collar in fury.

"Boss, we were helpless. We didn't want to hurt her, so we didn't fight back. She snatched a gun from one of the guards and pointed it at us," he explained, while Andrew glared at him. "But one guard is secretly following her," Jack added, and Andrew released his collar.

"Jack, call that guard immediately and ask him where Chloe is," Andrew ordered, running his hand through his hair in frustration and anxiety. Jack hurriedly called the other guard to find out Chloe's whereabouts.

"Why do you always test my patience, Chloe?" Andrew muttered.

"Boss, she's in the Feel Good Garden," Jack informed him.

"Wake everyone up and have them ready in ten minutes. Also, tell the drivers to take out the cars," Andrew instructed Jack before marching back into the room.

He hastily put on his black suit, as he had slept in only his boxers. He tucked a gun into his pocket. He didn't know why, but he felt as if her life was in danger. He was apprehensive about her.

Three black Mercedes cars came to a halt in front of the Feel Good Garden. Andrew hastily stepped out of the middle car, his tension for Chloe vividly visible on his face. He instructed his men to stay outside and not let anybody come in.

He dashed into the garden, his eyes scanning for Chloe. When he saw her playing with a few kids, he rushed to her and engulfed her in his warm arms without thinking. She widened her eyes, taken aback by the sudden tight hug, but she felt snug in his embrace.

"Thank God, you're fine," he sighed with relief after seeing her.

The next moment, he frowned and pulled away from her. "Why did you come here without informing me when you know that you're not safe?" he rebuked her.

"Why do I inform you, Devil?" She sarcastically called him, a goofy grin flashing on her beautiful face.

"You do become you don't have any other option." He instructed her in a stern tone, wagging his finger at her.

She moved closer to his face and uttered, "Then you're highly mistaken, Mr. Handsome."

He grasped her arms and yanked her to himself. "Why do you never listen to me? Why do you force me to show my evil side to you, which I don't want?" He asked, coming dangerously close to her.

"Why should I listen to you? How many times do I have to tell you that I only listen to myself? You can't control my life," she retorted.

"I'm doing this for your safety, and you have to listen to me, or else I have my ways, but you will regret it later," he warned her in a curt tone.

"I'm so scared of you," she rolled her eyes.

He glared at her, but suddenly his eyes dilated in horror, and his face became pale as he saw a man standing behind a pillar, pointing a gun at Chloe.

Before Andrew could do anything, the man pulled the trigger and fired at Chloe. Without caring about his life, Andrew hurriedly pushed her away. He was just thinking about protecting his badass girl at that moment.
