43: Sandra Grace
"Sandra Grace, age 23, the eldest daughter of the Grace family. She is the sister of Kevin Grace, who we all know by now," Mateo stated, reading the information on his laptop regarding the true identity of Dar Rose, per Kidrey's request.
Kidrey didn't say anything as he listened closely to his comrade.
They were in the fraternity house, sitting on the big couch while Mateo read the information Kidrey wanted to know about Dar Rose's true identity.
"It's amazing how I couldn't find her real name, 'Sandra Grace,' in any search engines here in the USA...as if someone restricted access to it," Mateo continued, wondering. "But if you change the computer's VPN, her name appears in search results from other countries. Her profile shows she was a model in Japan, and it seems she was supposed to be in a reality show in the Philippines this year, though her name is labeled 'unconfirmed' on the website. God, this is getting bizarre!"
Mateo shook his head in disbelief. The only female member of Mad KingZ Fraternity was not who they thought she was.
He even showed Kidrey a few of Sandra Grace's modeling pictures on his laptop.
There were pictures of Sandra in solo shots, group shots, print ads, and many magazine covers. Kidrey looked at them intently, imprinting the photos in his mind. This was the same woman who ensnared him to the point of no return, the same deep brown eyes that were as captivating during her deceit. What a beautiful, cunning woman. She had completely bewitched him. Kidrey gritted his teeth at the facts.
Mateo shared more information. "When you asked me to look for Dar Rose's information before, I was given a fake background. It's like she already expected us to check her background at some point, so she prepared a fake one for us. God, she's one calculating woman! She played this 'game' too seriously. No wonder you couldn't figure her out." Mateo said, caressing his chin.
"Definitely someone big was helping her with this. I used my connections in the CIA, and even with my father working as the current assistant director there, the data still gave me the fake one." He looked at his quiet leader, who was in deep thoughts. "It's like someone from 'higher up,' bigger than my father in the CIA, restricted access to anyone searching for 'Sandra Grace,'..." He squinted his eyes, theorizing. "Her profile had been erased from national data on purpose, and a fake one was intentionally created for us to find. This is all for her mission to exact revenge on Mad KingZ, of course. Whoah, Dar Rose—I mean, Sandra Grace—is scary!" he ended in amazement.
Kidrey closed his eyes after listening to Mateo. He was suddenly having a headache. He massaged his temples as he thought of Sandra Grace. She was one hell of a woman.
Mateo wasn't finished talking yet. "I could write a whole fanfiction out of this, you know." Kidrey's headache worsened at Mateo's mumblings. "A mysterious woman attending a famous school to get revenge on the most popular group with handsome members and making the scary leader fall in love with her as part of her plan. This is the best fanfiction ever!"
Kidrey glared at Mateo to shut him up. Mateo complied right away. Kidrey knew Mateo was only trying to ease the heavy atmosphere, but it wasn't funny at all.
Kidrey continued glaring at him. "Her revenge is baseless. Mad KingZ didn't kill her brother." Kidrey's voice was mixed with disappointment and anger. "It's pointless." He added. Sandra Grace had used and manipulated him so well.
"It wasn't baseless," Jon chimed in, joining them in the living room. He had gone upstairs earlier to check on something. He already knew about Dar Rose's real identity, too.
Jon smacked Mateo's head, and Mateo only groaned a bit. "Your fanfiction is boring. Stop joking about this serious matter." Jon scolded as Mateo only pouted while massaging the bump on his head.
Jon shook his head before facing Kidrey. "I contacted someone from the Madtown Media TV Network and asked for Reporter Terry Johnson's source about the news she reported a few days ago. They said anonymous sources remain confidential in their network and wouldn't share it with me until," he shrugged, "I reminded them that my uncle Deon Yamanouchi is the director of the country's Hollywood Media Corps., and he would cancel their business agreement with Madtown Media TV if they didn't help me. And as always, money and connections work, so they gave me Dar Rose's name along with this photo in the end." Jon then showed his phone to Kidrey and Mateo.
Mateo's eyes widened more as his jaw dropped. "What the hell?" he uttered in shock.
Kidrey clenched his jaws at the photo. Sandra hadn't mentioned this to him during their confrontation. 'And why would she?' His subconscious was asking sarcastically. Kidrey had been angry with her that night, and she knew he wouldn't believe whatever she said at the time. To forget that memory, Kidrey glared at the photo instead.
It was a picture of TOP and Kevin Grace. The two looked so cozy in the picture it was impossible to think that nothing was going on between them.
"This must have cemented Miss Grace's suspicion that Mad KingZ had something to do with her brother's death," Jon sighed. "The two seemed to have a relationship before, too. If it's shocking to us, how much more to her."
Mateo shook his head again in disbelief. Bomb after bomb was being dropped on them. Were there more coming? "Come to think of it, during the court hearing last year with Kevin Grace's family, we didn't see Dar Rose there...I mean, Sandra Grace."
"She could have been anywhere at that time," Jon pointed out to him.
Kidrey thought back, and a vivid memory flashed in his mind. There was a sudden bitter taste in his mouth recalling this. "She was there," he simply stated.
"Where?" Jon asked him. "I didn't see anyone in the courtroom aside from the mother and the other sister."
Kidrey fisted his hands at the memory. "She was outside the courtroom. I bumped into her."
Mateo sighed dramatically upon hearing that. He seemed to understand something clearly about Dar Rose's side. "Knowing you, you probably didn't apologize to her." He was right, based on Kidrey's regretful expression. "And we must have acted like assholes to her back then. I remember we were cheered up when the boring hearing was done. That must have been very insensitive to the other party. No wonder Sandra Grace hated us more since then. We showed no remorse about her brother's death." Mateo said, regrettably.
Jon sighed, too. "I wish we could've handled that case properly. I also thought the happenings were nonsense before, but now it does make sense."
Kidrey and Mateo looked at Jon.
"What do you mean?" Mateo asked him.
Jon looked at both of them seriously. "The tragedy happened during The Selection Day. On the surface, it looked like an ordinary case of suicide, but now that TOP is involved with the guy, it seems there's more to the case. Also," his voice dropped a tone but was still serious as he spoke the next words, "it was Officer Williams who insisted that we go to the hearing at that time. To just deal with it. He was probably protecting himself from the backlash that would have happened if Kevin Grace's family had dug deeper into his death."
Kidrey put it into consideration as he remained quietly listening.
"Wait, wait, wait. Elaborate, please," Mateo stated, confused but listening closely.
Jon sighed. "The way I see it, Officer Williams didn't expect the Grace family to sue Mad KingZ back then. Knowing we had nothing to do with Kevin Grace's death, the case would be dismissed easily. We were his scapegoat against the true reason why Kevin Grace's bullying happened in the first place. TOP and Kevin had a relationship before, and Officer Williams was against it and asked some students to bully Grace... and unexpectedly, Grace killed himself. Officer Williams didn't want that out about TOP or even his connections to the bullying that led to his death."
Mateo's jaw dropped hearing all of that. "How in the world would you know about that? I thought you're only a vain Pop Artist who is focused on improving your chocolate abs and not into mind games?" He was amazed at his friend, who quickly glared at him in response. Mateo made a peace sign right away.
Jon ignored him as he continued. "I connected it with the ongoing investigation of the suicide case. The students who bullied Grace came forward to the authorities and confessed that their parents asked them to do it because of Officer Williams."
Kidrey clenched his jaws. "They were being blackmailed by the son of a bitch," he added coldly.
Jon nodded. "Officer Williams was fired this morning because of the backlash about the family's confessions. All of them fell into disgrace. They will probably be exiled out of Madtown City."
Silence fell between the three of them as they processed the deductions. Sandra Grace had started all of this. The investigation of the suicide case was reopened.
Mateo clicked his tongue worriedly after a while. "This is bad for Dar Rose, I mean Sandra. I don't even feel any anger towards her even after knowing she was plotting something against us behind our backs, which is weird. Even after learning she was the one who pushed Ted... you know how Ted's mouth can be. I can't help but think he provoked her or something." He sighed.
Mateo felt bad for feeling that way, but as he looked at Jon, he knew Jon was also not that angry at Dar Rose on the same level as Kidrey. But the truth and impact were obviously hard on Kidrey.
Mateo sighed again. "Revealing TOP's sexuality to the city was probably only a bait for her to reveal the truth or even just to punish TOP, but what she did made the Williams family fall into disgrace instead. I mean, even Officer Williams is out of the Madtown Police Department now. You both know how that old man is...and how hot-tempered TOP can be, too."
Jon agreed, looking worried at the events unfolding. He glanced at Kidrey, who was wearing an unreadable expression. "What do you think, God?" he asked their leader.
Kidrey looked up from his deep thoughts and then looked seriously at his friends. "Has anyone of you reached TOP yet?" he asked instead. The eldest of the fraternity hadn't responded to any of his messages yet.
Both of his comrades shook their heads.
"He is not responding to my calls and messages," Jon answered.
"Neither to mine," Mateo added.
Kidrey's fists became sweaty, his heart beating fast at the realization.
Jon sighed as he continued. "I went upstairs to check TOP's room. His guns are gone from the safety box." He revealed this to Kidrey, who understood the implications. "I know you are angry at her, but...she's in danger."
The realization hit hard. Kidrey was still angry, but Sandra Grace was in danger. He gritted his teeth at the thought.

a/n: Thank you for reading. Remember in Chapter 1, Sandra's friend, Bommie, sent Sandra Grace's name to a 'reality show' without her knowing, that's the reference. Also, Mateo & Jon are the good ones in MKz, I've been trying to portray them as Kidrey's best comrades and not totally bad towards Dar Rose, hope some got the hints before that they're the good apples in the gang.
Kidrey is one of Dar Rose's victims. As well as Ted & TOP, so let's see how things will unfold in the end ;) I dropped many Easter Eggs in this chapter lol. Thanks for reading. Don't forget to vote ^^
