34: The Fall

Kidrey's arms were around her as Sandra woke up that morning.

Sandra stared at the sleeping face of her boyfriend beside her. She has slept in his room again.

Come to think of it, she sleeps in his room more than her room in this house.

Sandra scoffed inside at that realization. It's not that she's doing anything against it too. She enjoyed his company, he drives her body crazy...deepening her carnal knowledge.

Sandra carefully lifted Kidrey's arm on her waist as she put it on the pillow there instead.

Sandra then picked up her clothes lying on the floor, including her underwear. She began to dress up while trying her best not to wake up Kidrey.

Sandra was sure Kidrey was quite drunk from the party last night. And even with that state, his lovemaking to her last night was as passionate and satisfying just like the other times they did it. Kidrey knows how to give her utmost pleasure, she's almost getting used to it...

But she knew deep inside her that she should stop it. She should stop herself from getting used to it.

Kidrey seemed to be not getting enough of her and would make love to her every chance he could get.

Sandra sighed as she stood up now after buttoning up the last button.

She felt sticky so even if she basically 'lives' in Kidrey's room, she decided to shower in her room instead.

Sandra quietly left Kidrey's room and went to her room just across from his. She took her shower.

----

The smell of bacon and eggs made Sandra's stomach grumble instantly.

She walked straight to the kitchen and found the fraternity house's chambermaid cooking their breakfast.

Sandra must have woken up early that day to catch up with the maid that morning. The maid only visits early once a week to clean the house, or when summoned especially when there's a party the night before. Mad KingZ needs her to clean up the house the next day.

Sandra already noticed that the house was already cleaned from the mess last night.

"Good morning." Sandra greeted quietly as she entered the kitchen. Letting the chambermaid be aware of her presence.

The old lady looked at her. She smiled right away. "Good morning, Miss Rose." The chambermaid greeted back. She then showed Sandra what she was cooking. "Hungry?"

Sandra nodded as she made herself a quick cup of coffee, too. She then sat on the high stool there in the kitchen.

The chambermaid quickly placed her plate full of bacon, eggs, and toast in front of her.

Sandra gave her thanks and quickly dug into the food.

The old lady seemed happy to see her eating well.

"I'm not sure if we have met personally before, Miss Rose, but I am Aurora Kim, the head maid of the house." The chambermaid stated.

Sandra swallowed her food first. "Nice to meet you, Miss Kim. I know you." She smiled at her. "You come to visit and clean the house once a week. We do not run out of food and the house is always clean because of you. Thank you for the service."

The chambermaid smiled. "Yes, I do. I also clean some of the occupant's room, too. I am not sure if you want me to clean your room, as well, that's why I waited for us to meet in person to ask your permission before I get inside your room." The old woman paused, wondering. "I have no means to contact you, Miss Rose, that's why I couldn't ask you before. Your contact number is not in the registry for some reason."

Sandra smiled hesitantly as she stopped eating. She is glad the old woman is polite not to barge into her room and invade her privacy even if she could.

Sandra smiled at her. "Thanks but I can clean my room. You don't have to worry about it, Miss Kim." She continued eating. "It must be tough to clean all the men's room by yourself. Knowing men." Her attempt for a conversation that morning.

The old lady shrugged her shoulders as she faced her pan again and cooked more food for the other members.

"Well, all four of them are fine. Their rooms are not as bad as you expected it would be." The old lady stated.

Sandra stopped eating. "Four?" She clarified.

The old lady nodded. "Yes. Mr. Williams asked me not to clean his room. He got angry at me one time I entered his room without his permission." She paused as she recalled the undesirable event. "I was almost fired because of it. He said he values his privacy."

But why?

Sandra wondered silently. Why TOP got angry at the chambermaid cleaning his room?

Something is not right.

"That's why I didn't clean your room too unless I speak to you. I don't want to risk losing my job a second time." The old lady even winked at her.

Sandra smiled in response. "I think I should clean my own room." She said. Plus, she doesn't want anyone touching her stuff. She's been keeping secrets and doesn't want anyone poking their noses at her stuff.

She paused.

Is TOP keeping a secret as well?

Sandra's fingers itch at the idea. She couldn't wait to get her hand on whatever TOP was hiding in his room.

Sure, TOP is a quiet and temperamental guy who beds different women all the time. He also shows signs of violence as Sandra remembers how TOP didn't even hesitate to give her the most painful paddling last time among the Mad KingZ members. Sandra scowled at the memory again. Everyone has a skeleton in their closet so Sandra couldn't wait to find out what's in TOP's.

So far in Kidrey's room, she didn't find anything unusual. But with the others...

Sandra watched the busy chambermaid again. "You have spare keys to all the rooms in the house, right?" She asked the old lady.

The chambermaid nodded as she turned off the gas. She is done cooking. "Yes. I have to." She showed a big ring full of keys to her. "Why? Did you lose your keys?" She asked, worriedly.

Sandra smiled as she shook her head no. "Not now. I tend to lose my keys so..." she hangs the words.

"Ahh. I see." The chambermaid nodded in understanding as she put the food she cooked on different plates. She also readied it for the other Mad KingZ members once they woke up.

"Just tell me if you need my help when you lose your keys so I can give you the spare. I'll be leaving now." The chambermaid wiped her hands with her apron. "It is nice meeting you, Miss Rose. Enjoy your breakfast." Then she left.

While Sandra was left there in the kitchen with deep thoughts.

Sandra was in this state when TOP stepped into the kitchen as well.

TOP ignored her presence as he opened one of the cupboards. He pulled out something there. He then started boiling water.

Sandra sipped her coffee silently as she watched TOP moving around the big kitchen.

Sandra noticed something when he turned off the gas and filled his cup with hot water.

"Not fond of coffee?" Sandra asked him, breaking the silence between them.

For the first time that morning, TOP looked at her. He seemed to be contemplating whether to answer her or continue to ignore her. He then showed his cup in the end. "I don't like coffee. I prefer teas."

TOP exited the kitchen with his tea after saying that. He didn't even bother to touch the food Miss Kim prepared for him.

Leaving Sandra a bit taken aback, thinking. She remembered what Kidrey had told her back at her apartment.

"Teas for gays..."

But TOP is too manly in her own opinion for anyone to question his sexuality. He even kisses and beds different women every week. No one would question it just because he doesn't drink coffee...right?

----

For the following days, Sandra found herself busy observing TOP. Like solving a puzzle about the oldest member of the fraternity.

Sandra is looking at him differently now than how she looked at him before. She's been dissecting his actions for a while now.

Sandra does it inconspicuously so TOP and the others won't notice it.

Just like now. It was lunch break and most of the Mad KingZ fraternity members including Sandra were hanging out on the stairs.

Kidrey got her by the waist, back hugging her and planting his face on her neck. Casually kissing her there, every now and then.

"Mmm, you smell good." Kidrey whispered on her neck.

"Uh-huh," Sandra responded as she looked over TOP and the woman on his lap.

They were kissing torridly. It seemed like how the usual scene with TOP with a new woman on his lap.

"You two should get a room." Mateo jokingly stated to Sandra. He didn't even try looking at Kidrey. Scared that God might not like his jokes.

Sandra smiled a bit at Mateo. She then tapped Kidrey's head. "Are we in competition with TOP here on who is best at PDAs?" She asked Kidrey, playfully.

Kidrey looked at her first before glancing at TOP who asked the woman he was with to leave in which the woman did right away. It also seemed like this was the first time Kidrey noticed that there were others there aside from himself and Sandra.

Sandra almost rolled her eyes at this. Kidrey can really be uncaring of his surroundings sometimes.

Kidrey shrugged his shoulders as he leaned his back on the wall and pulled out his Nintendo Switch next. "You are not like those women so there's no competition here. Don't compare yourself to them, darling."

Sandra was surprised to hear that from Kidrey but smirked after. Kidrey truly likes her. She snatched Kidrey's switch out of his hand and gave it to Mateo instead who could only scratch his head at her act but still happily played the game after.

Sandra then climbed on Kidrey's lap and began to make out with him, mumbling on his lips.

"What if I tell you, I want to do PDAs with you too?" Sandra asked seductively on Kidrey's lips.

Kidrey smirked at that as he held her waist tighter and kissed her lightly on the lips next. "Sure."

Jon who stopped playing a music video on his phone, looked around. "Has anyone seen Ted? I thought he'd join us today?"

Mateo shrugged his shoulders. He didn't even notice Ted was not there. He continued playing Kidrey's Switch.

TOP didn't answer.

Sandra shook her head at Jon. She didn't notice it too. Why, but it kind of bothers her.

Kidrey stood up, bringing Sandra with him. "It doesn't matter. We will see him in the frat house anyways." He said. He pulled her hand. "I'll walk you to your next class," he told her.

Just as Kidrey said it, the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch break.

Everybody stood up and went to their next classes. Kidrey's arm was on her shoulder as he walked her to her next class.

----

Unbeknownst to them, Ted was in fact in the frat house...particularly in Dar Rose's room.

The woman has kept her room locked at all times except for today. Whether she left it unlocked by accident or not, Ted sees this as an opportunity to check inside.

It's not on his personality to barge into a woman's room but it's been weeks that Ted couldn't pinpoint what is exactly wrong with the new addition to the fraternity. But one thing is certain, Ted doesn't trust Dar Rose and her sudden intentions in joining Mad KingZ.

When in the first place, she declined to be part of it after passing The Selection. Something is not quite right after that.

Suddenly this woman came into their lives, in this fraternity...and enchanting their leader like a witch.

Anyone can see it, Kidrey is hooked to her. And they couldn't do anything about it. Kidrey's words here are like law and their leader clearly likes the newbie so they couldn't do anything against the woman joining.

Their leader won't see something unusual about her because he is already interested in her...but Ted can see it, can feel it. The others might have felt the strangeness in her, too, but chose to keep mum about it. Most especially Mateo and Jon who has always been on Kidrey's side.

TOP might have felt it too but didn't say anything against it yet. Ted can tell the oldest member doesn't like Dar Rose, too, but it might just be about it and nothing else. TOP might have chosen to be just a bystander, as well.

But Ted couldn't...

He got to know this woman's purpose. Her motives. He couldn't help but remember what Lala had told him the night at the party.

"Ano ne, Nihon de Dar Rose-chan ni atta koto ga arurashii desu yo. Tsuyoi kanjiteiru yo. Namae wasurechattan desu kedo..." (I have a strong feeling that Dar Rose and I have met in Japan. I forgot her name there though...)

Ted would have ignored it and might have dismissed it as the effect of the alcohol on his model friend but Dar Rose did mouthed 'Baka' to him that night which means idiotic in Japanese. So, Ted couldn't help but think that what if there's more about it and Dar Rose could actually speak Japanese and just hide it? That she has been outside the country before.

Ted did take into consideration the information Mateo gave to them about Dar Rose when Kidrey asked him to investigate her background.

Dar Rose is an only child of a farming couple from the country part of Texas. And she had never been out of the country. Not rich nor a stellar student so how did she get into the prestigious Madtown U?

Ted would have really ignored it all if not for the bad feelings he has towards Dar Rose the moment she made her presence known to them. He has a bad hunch about her right away. And he is rarely wrong in pointing out the good and bad in people.

It's like Dar Rose is keeping her true self from coming out. She doesn't act like she is poor and a countryside bumpkin. She can even act graceful and glamorous if she wants to. That's how she got Kidrey's full interest in her. She is mysterious.

In short, Dar Rose is not telling them who she really is.

And as Ted stepped inside her room, his hunch has gotten stronger.

Dar Rose's room is bare and almost empty. A room that conceals things and hides something.

Ted walked inside it and touched the bedside table there. It's the only furniture aside from the bed in the room.

"What are you hiding, woman?" Ted asked to the air.

Ted was about to walk to her closet when he noticed something off about the bed. He walked towards it instead. He inspected it. The mattress is misaligned to the bed.

Without thinking twice, Ted lifted the bed...

...and found the journal. With the name 'Kevin Grace' written on it.

-----

The bell rang signaling the end of the class that day. The sun is setting early as the winter winds give a chill to Sandra's body. She tightened the red scarf around her neck.

Sandra was the last one to step out of the room so it was a big surprise to her when she found Ted James waiting outside her classroom.

A serious face was written on his face. He is even glaring at her.

Her heart thumped fast at that. She has a bad feeling about this.

"I need to talk to you, Dar Rose," Ted stated, sarcastically. He then turned his back on her and walked away.

Sandra bit her lips as she quietly followed Ted behind. She really has a bad feeling about this.

It took a while when Ted took her to a one-story activity room for one of the school clubs. It looks abandoned as no one is seen using it too. Ted led her to the rooftop of the building.

The sun setting behind Ted's head as Sandra stood a few feet away from him. Holding her breath while waiting for him to speak. She also didn't mind the chilly wind that afternoon.

"I know who you are." Ted started, smirking. "You are Kevin Grace's sister. I found the journal."

Sandra gasped inside as her eyes widened but she held herself up. She didn't say anything back to Ted's revelation. Mostly because of shock.

She was so busy observing TOP that she failed to notice that Ted James had been busy behind her back too.

The ginger mocked her silence. "Still pretending to be someone else?" He scoffed. "I couldn't wait to tell the others... especially God about the truth about you. Let's see how he'll react and what he will do about you."

Sandra dropped her pretense. "Tell the others. I don't care." She just said, even challenging Ted. "God will believe me over you, anyways." It was a lie, she knew it.

Ted smirked as he stepped a foot closer to her. He felt her anxiety. "You came to Madtown U to avenge the death of your cowardly brother...who chose to die still a coward in the end." He hissed, tormenting her.

Sandra immediately got angry at this. "Don't talk about my brother." She warned, clenching her hands. Her anger rose every minute that passed.

Ted seemed pleased to get a reaction from her. "Your brother who was a coward who screamed like a girl during the initiations."

Sandra was shaking now. Her eyes darkened. This guy, this guy, this is one of the guys who caused her brother's demise.

Sandra took a step forward. Her eyes darkened and angry while looking at Ted. "Don't talk about my brother." She warned him again.

Ted ignored her as he took a step backward this time. "The little girl Kevin Grace's death was nothing—"

Sandra, with all her might, pushed Ted off the rooftop. Ted was caught off guard as his eyes widened realizing what had just happened. It was air he was stepping back next.

The sun was setting behind Ted's head as Sandra watched him slowly fall from the rooftop. Her eyes were dead with emotions.

Thud!

Sandra didn't even check if Ted survived the fall or not. She didn't care anymore.

Sandra quietly left the place. She warned him enough.
