Night time in the asylum was scarier than what you see in movies. It is always silent besides an occasional restless doctor walking down the hall in search of an exit to light a cigarette.
Hux hoped that he could go outside too one day. His skin had paled to the color of paper and it only made the bags under his eyes darker.
He sat there quietly, his cerulean orbs darting from left to right in search of a possible threat. Right now he could see someone or something squatting in the corner. It looked like a big black mass in the darkness and he could only see it because it was writhing like it was in agony. It was mumbling almost inaudibly scared him even more.
Hux was frankly too frightened to even budge. He was stuck in this straight jacket and a cage over his mouth, he had no way to defend himself. If only there were someone by his side. A fearless companion to chase away the creature in the corner.
Finally Hux built up the courage to speak to it. "H-Hello?" That's what he meant to say but all he could utter was a squeak. Still it was enough to stir the creature.
"I-I don't mean to b-bother you but...but I have a really hard time with being in th-the dark and I just..." he stopped talking when he realized the creature was moving closer. "W-Wait! Wait! Don't hurt me. I'm a good person, please."
Hux squeezed his eyes shut and curled up. All he could hear was his heart hammering in his ears. He felt like he'd piss himself if he opened them again and it was right there in his face.
Hours passed and he knew the creature was sitting there, waiting to gobble him up if he opened his eyes. Time began to blur together, but he wouldn't know. He had no windows or clock.
The man kept his eyes squeezed shut and didn't move until morning and his new doctor came in to greet him. She was slightly put off by the sight of the trembling man in the corner. She was told about the mans wit and that sometimes he was an asshole. Doctor Ben didn't seem to have any trouble with him which made her curious.
"Be a good boy, Armitage. This is your new doctor," The nurse that escorted her in cooed.
The doctor watched the nurse leave with a heavy heart. Her gaze set on Hux and her feelings of sadness only grew. He looked sickly and wrecked. "I'm doctor Rey. I transferred in from–"
"The Jakku Rehabilitation facility...I know," Hux mumbled and looked up at her, finally opening his eyes and he looked at the corner. The creature was still there. "I'm not having a great day..." that was a understatement.
"How'd you–..never mind..." She pulled up a chair and sat across from him.
"Since you are from a Rehab facility will I be able to go home soon?.." Huxs mood seemed to lighten when he thought of leaving this place.
"Goodness no," Rey laughed but quickly stopped when she saw the heartbroken look on the mans face. "You might be stuck here for the rest of your life after what you've done."
Hux did not appreciate her tone. He'd much rather Ben over her. "Get out. I don't want to talk to you."
"Hey. Listen to me. You don't tell me what to do," She snapped. Rey hated the rude patients who couldn't deal with the blatant truth. "You killed people remember!? It was all over the news! You deserve to be stuck here!"
Hux flinched like he'd been hit. The thought of what he did to those people made him sick. "I-It was my father...he...he made me!"
"Your father wasn't involved. You did it by yourself."
"I-It wasn't me! It wasn't me!!!" Hux cried, he pulled at his straight jacket, everything around him felt ten sizes too small, the monster in the corner seemed disturbed by his cries. "What do you want from me!? Leave me alone!!!" He hadn't slept all night, he barely had any social interaction...his nerves were shot. He wanted Ben back. What has he done to himself?...

-3 months later-

The more time that passed the more he missed Ben. Hux cried over him and pined for his presence. He now knew what an uncaring doctor was like. Rey didn't give a damn about him. She often skipped visits and made his life hell by ordering nurses to feed him with a tube since he stopped eating and forcing pills down his throat.
Around Christmas time however, things changed. Ben came to visit him. At first Hux thought it was an illusion but It all felt too real.
"I was told about your situation here," Ben said softly and sat on the floor by his side. "I'm here to help you." He reached out and began to take off the muzzle and then undo the straps and buckles of Huxs straight jacket.
"Wh-What are you doing??" He couldn't help but be excited. It's been so long since he's been let out.
"I'm giving you a Christmas present."
Hux looked down at his arms, they felt weak...almost like dead weight. The monster was still in the corner...watching. It wasn't happy. "D-Doctor Kylo...we should stay here...it isn't safe out there..."
Kylo set a hand on his shoulder
"Go on Boy. Don't whimper like a dog, get out."
Hux stared up at Kylo as Brendol spoke with Kylos mouth...that wasn't his doctors voice. What was happening? He felt dizzy...he was going to throw up.
