A few weeks had passed since she received the last letter, Madison knew she needed to break up with Cedric, to keep him safe.

"Cedric we need to talk. My father, he's a really bad man. W-we need to break up. Us being together has put you in danger. And I know that Cho Chang girl has had eyes on you for a while now. Cedric I really love you. I'm doing this to keep you safe. I'm sorry." Madison was now crying.

"I really don't want to. But you can't tell anyone what I'm about to tell you. My father is Voldemort. He threatened to kill you. I asked him to keep you safe but he refused. We have to cut ties completely. He's planning to start a new war. When he looses again, i hope you'll take me back then. But me even talking to you know has put a target on your back."

Cedric just looked shocked. He stood there for a moment before hugging Madison. "I understand. And of course I'll take you back when he's defeated."

"One last thing, to prove that we've really broken up. I need you to date someone else. Take her to the Yule Ball." Cedric nodded.

And that was the last time she spoke to him.

When Harry came back, holding the body, Madison was the first to run down the stairs, beating Amos.

"Cedric!" She yelled.

She slid in a way that would've made Babe Ruth jealous, and collapsed onto his body. She started crying uncontrollably. Mumbling "this is all my fault."

"Hey Madison. Are you feeling any better? Wanna sit with us at dinner?" Draco asked.

"Thanks Draco. But I'm fine. I'm just gonna go back to my room." She responded. "Okay I'm sending food to your room." He responded.

As Madison sat down she began to write.

"Dear father,
What in earth? I know I didn't write you back. But are you SO uncivilized that you'd just kill Cedric like that? You get everything you want in life so why can't I? If I'm your daughter, can't I be happy too! Father, WHY? I cut ties with him months ago, he was seeing a girl called Cho Chang. If he wasn't involved with me why'd he have to 'go out with a bang'? Father, if you want my help, stop destroying what I love! If you just cooperate, I promise, I'll help you build the future you speak of!"

She signed her name and sent it.
