Madison Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Chapter 1: Summer so far at 12 Grimmuald Place
This summer so far has been quite boring. But, before I tell you the details of that, let me tell you who I am.
You should already know who I am, but if you don't, then go read the past four books. But, if you don't want to, I'll give you a little bit of background knowledge, okay? Okay.
My name is Madison Lillian Potter. I have long, wavy-curly dark red hair that used to reach my mid back. I had gotten it cut this summer (mostly because Uncle Moony said that it would get tangled, and once Kreacher had uh, vacuumed a strand up while I was sleeping.), so now, it reaches at least an inch and a half past my shoulder blade. It looks pretty good, in my opinion. Uncle Sirius said that boys would be lining up- and that he'd kill them if they did so.
Very reassuring.
Anyway, my eyes are a nice, dark, emerald green color- just like my mother's eyes. I have a fair skin tone, with freckles here and there. I am of average height- the height of my mother when she was my age, so, around five foot six. That was how tall she had gotten... before she... died... so I guess that that's how tall I will be.
On my left hand, there is a scar- normal, right?
No.
Shaped like a lightning bolt, it is the symbol of my past- the symbol of Voldemort's defeat.
That is why they call me 'The Girl Who Lived', and my older twin brother 'The Boy Who Lived'.
But I wish that Voldemort was truly dead- but he's not.
In fact, just last summer, the man who killed my parents and made me an orphan came back. And many people don't believe it, like Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic, for example. The Daily Prophet has been calling my brother and me 'The Boy Who Lies?' and 'The Girl Who Lies?' for me. The Prophet has also been calling Professor Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry an old man who is off his rocker. So, insane, basically.
Anyway, back to the point.
The main reason that the summer has been rather boring so far is because I was not at number four, Privet Drive, where my only living family besides my twin by blood, Petunia, Vernon, and Dudley Dursley live.
My brother is there, but I am not. I have been staying at Sirius' house- number 12 Grimmuald Place. The most ancient and noble house of Black.
This morning, I asked while my godfather, Remus Lupin, and Sirius, and I were eating breakfast, "Why am I here, exactly? I mean, not at Privet Drive."
Lupin sighed, and nodded at Padfoot, who seemed eager to tell me something.
"Because," the assumed murder began. "Only Harry's name was pulled from the Goblet last year. Your name was supposed to as well, but, you saw how the plan didn't exactly work out like it was supposed to."
"So... that means that Voldemort wants me more than he wants Harry right now, doesn't it? Because I wasn't in his grasps at the Graveyard last year. He wanted both Harry and I to be there."
"Yes," Lupin had said. "And that means that Voldemort is probably just a bit weaker... since you weren't there."
"Yes, but," I argued back. "In my second year I gave my blood so the students could be petrified. That means that he already has my blood."
"She's got a point there, Moony." Sirius said.
Moony sighed. I smirked, and I said, "So, I should be able to join the Order."
"Absolutely not!" Remus exclaimed.
"And why not?" I challenged back.
Sirius kept on watching us, like a tennis match- back and forth each time something new was said.
"Because you are fourteen!" he said.
I interrupted him. "Almost fifteen!"
That's right, folks. I'll be fifteen in about a day.
"And besides- in my first year I was taking captive by him, and in my second year... well, you know what happened... And I remember it. The cruel laughter. Green light."
I took another deep breath before continuing. "And... When Ginny and I had to do our first petrification... I had used the blood from myself to write the message on the wall. And... and the knife must have been cursed or something because..."
I showed them my left forearm. That was where I had used the knife to get the blood to write that wretched message on the wall. They gasped.
Moony muttered for only Sirius and me to hear, "None can live while the others survive..." (A/N: I changed the prophecy a bit)
"I know what it is like to be possessed by him. It is not a good feeling. I must be in the Order. I can help you, too- I am the one that made him weaker because Barty Crouch Jr. failed to put my name in the Goblet of Fire." I argued.
The two Maurders looked at each other. Hope was triggered inside me as they smiled, and looked at me while doing so.
"Well..." Sirius began.
"No. Never in a million years." Remus finished for him.
