Chapter 24: Announcements On Christmas

GEORGE'S POINT OF VIEW:

I looked at Fred. I wanted to murder the guy right then and there.

"Nice going, Fred," I snarled at him, much to the shock of my siblings.

"What? She is alone! She is afraid! She's a coward!"

Harry got up and glared at him, "Don't call my sister a coward. She's gone through more than you have."

"How?"

"She saw her parents die at one. She.... She's gone through a lot. Right now, she just might be upstairs trying to kill herself. Madison has tried a lot."

My face paled, and I ran upstairs, not even waiting for anybody to say something.

I heard a thump that came from the bathroom. Faster than a race car, I speed over to the door.

Opening the door, I saw Madison on the floor, barely breathing.

I took out my wand and did some healing charms underneath by breath.

There was then a light that could have blinded me and I didn't look away.

Madison sat straight up and with wide eyes, she threw her arms around my neck.

"Don't do that ever again," I calmly stated.

"Never."

MADISON'S POINT OF VIEW:

I personally did not want to go to the hospital, so I didn't. Hospitals have never been my thing, and Mrs. Weasley was fine with that. She understood.

She's knows why, and she understands. She entrusted me to stay home with Sirius, alone. Kreacher was here somewhere, but that didn't matter at the moment.

I sat in my room, wrapping presents as Padfoot came in.

"Oh! You're wrapping gifts! Where's mine?"

I smiled as he sat down next to me, criss-cross-applesauce.

"I already wrapped yours and Moony's gift. And Harry's, Hermione's, Tonks, Kingsley, Moody's, Dumbledore and McGonagall's and Hagrid's and the Weasley's."

"Then who is that for?" Padfoot inquired.

I grinned, "It's for George."

He took it out of my hands and looked at it.

"A picture book?"

I nodded, "They're not magical, because I didn't want to do that. I felt like if I did that it wouldn't be as special."

He glanced down at my hand that had the ring on it.

"You really love him, don't you?"

I nodded and my cheeks flamed up, "I really do."

"So you said yes?"

I smiled and nodded.

"Yeah," I replied, tears coming out of my eyes. "I said yes. I love him."

"Well," he began, confused. "Why are you crying?"

"It's my time of the month, okay!?"

"At least we know you're not pregnant."

On Christmas morning when I awoke next to my fiancé, I felt joy all around me.

Waking George up with a kiss on the cheek, I told him, "It's Christmas!"

He shot up, and noticed that Fred wasn't up here.

Placing me on his back, he apparated the two of us down the stairs. We came face-to-face with Fred.

I nodded at him, and George gave him a quick twin hug.

Honestly? I was still a bit angry at Fred. I knew that George was a little pissed at him, but I loved how he didn't let that interfere with the two of them.

I love how he let me be mad at Fred. Fred was mad at me. We weren't on excellent terms right now.

"Merry Christmas!" I exclaimed.

Opening presents, I was ecstatic when I got a purple Weasley sweater with a gold colored 'M' on it. I pulled it on over my shirt.

After giving my present to George, he got mine from under the Christmas tree.

It was wrapped in a small red box with a golden bow; Gryffindor colors.

Opening it, I smiled as I saw a small little kitten sleeping in there. It was a ginger tabby cat. I picked it up and it opened its large green eyes, meowing as it sniffed my cheek. It licked me automatically.

"Since you lost Athena...."

I nodded, snuggling the kitten into me.

Athena had died early on this year from being kicked over the edge of the moving staircases by Malfoy. George had beat him up. After I did, of course.

"I'm going to name it..." I paused. What should I name the kitty?

"Oh! I'm going to name this kitty- wait is it a boy or a girl?"

"It's a boy," he said, kissing my cheek as I stroked the kitty's ears.

I nodded and told everybody, "This kitten is named Pippin."

•••

With Pippin on my lap, pawing my chest as I pet him, I looked around the table. Nodding to George, the two of us stood up as I fixed Pippin's position. He lay in my arms.

"Well," George began. "I asked Madison in the beginning of the year to marry me."

I heard a laugh from Fred, "She said no, didn't she?"

I ignored him, secretly sticking my middle finger at him.

"Anyway, before Fred interupted...." George continued.

I grinned as large as the horizon, "We're engaged."

Then there was silence. Complete and utter silence.
