Chapter 19: The Hogshead

Madison Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Chapter 19: The Hogshead

"Hermione," Harry began to ask her as we walked to the carriages, "how many people did you invite?"

"Oh, only a couple."

I hid my snort pretty well. Only a couple people? Please.

"Well, I'm going to meet George. See you at two," I stated, walking off.

Smiling, I found the redhead standing against a carriage that was pulled by threstles.

I snuck up on him and shouted, "BOO!"

He jumped in surprise, and then glanced at me. I grinned and he pouted.

"Why'd you do that, Maddie?"

"Because I enjoy surprising human beings."

"But I'm not a human. I'm a wizard."

I rolled my green eyes, "And Padfoot is a dog. Same thing."

"Are you calling me a dog?"

"Yes. Hey- at least I'm not calling you Snoop Dog!"

"Who is that?"

"A muggle rapper."

"Oh," he replied, grabbing my small, pale hand and escorting me into the carriage that he was leaning on.

Plopping down on the leather seats, I waited for my fiancé to sit down. Once he did, I leaned my head on his shoulder. It was rather comfy.

"I love you, Madison Lily Potter."

"I love you too, George Fabian Weasley."

The words 'I love you' were foreign to me; I never really had that said to me. George was really the first one to say that to me, and the first one to hug me. Harry hugged me when we were younger, but Aunt Petunia always pulled us away and said to me, "Don't talk to the freak, Lily."

She had called me Lily.

"You know," I began, "I've never really heard those words before."

"Really?"

"No. Nor have I really been hugged when I was at the Dursley's."

"Really? How come?"

I sighed and began to tell him what had happened in my childhood.

"When I was about maybe six or seven, Harry had given me a hug because I was crying- people had been making fun of my red hair. Aunt Petunia suddenly ripped me away from him and brought me to the side. She said, and I quote, "Don't talk to the freak, Lily." The worst part?

"She had called me Lily. Called me her sister, my mothers name. It felt like a stab in the heart, George. She's always treated me better than Harry you know. I remind her of her sister.

"In first year, when I went to my detention with Snape, he called me Lily Evans. I replied that my name was Madison and that my mother was dead, and he let me out of detention.

"Everybody has called me Lily- Sirius, Remus, McGonagall, Snape, Pettigrew, your mother and your father, Bill, Charlie, Sprout, Flitwick, Kingsley, Mad-Eye, Tonks, and heck, even Dumbledore called me Lily once!

"It hurts."

He was silent. All he did was hug me and wiped away the tears that were streaming down my freckled cheeks.

"My mascara's running, isn't it?"

"You're wearing make-up?"

"Yeah- does it look horrible?"

"No- I just think that you're gorgeous without it and you don't need it."

I smiled, showing my teeth. He kissed the top of my head and ran his hand through my ginger locks.

"Oh- we're here."

We hopped out and walked with our fingers interlocked, and I couldn't deny that he was worth it (A/N: PARAMORE, ANYONE?).

We went into the pet store so I could purchase some cat food for Athena.

"Athena's preggers."

"What!? Your cat is.... Pregnant?"

"Yup. Crookshanks and her were getting it on. I just found out two weeks ago."

"Woah. That's...."

"Shocking? Yeah. Yeah it is. Baby ginger cats running around."

"Hey! You and Hermione will be what? Mother-in-laws?"

"George, they are cats for crying out loud."

"Still. If they can meow, then they can be alive."

"That makes no sense at all."

"I know."

I giggled and kissed his nose.

Next, the two of us went into Zonko's and caught up with Fred and Lee.

"Oh my Merlin, what is that?" I asked as George came out with a large bag and showed me a long, lethal looking instrument.

"To clean out stuff."

"That looks more like a selfie stick if anything, but whatever. Use it on Malfoy's ears. He's an ass."

My fiancé laughed and Fred and Lee came out with bags. Together, the four of us made our way to the Hogshead.

"I can't believe that nobody has noticed the ring on my finger yet," I told George in a whisper.

"I know.... You'd think Hermione would at least...."

"Shows you how observant people are of hands," I replied.

We then reached the door of the Hogshead, only to find that we were the last ones in there.

"Yes, Hermione," I began as I trotted over to her, "this is a couple of people right here."

"Hey, well Corner wouldn't be here if he wasn't dating Ginny."

I nodded my head, "I'm still waiting for my brother to grow balls and realize that he likes Ginny."

"Anyway," Hermione began as I walked over and sat on George's lap, "we are here to learn about defense."

After a bit of rude comments and questions from Zacharias Smith, everybody agreed that the group could meet only when it didn't interfere with Quidditch and gobstones and such.

We all signed up, and I heard, "Well, Cho couldn't keep her eyes off of you."

"And George couldn't keep his eyes off of your sister, but then again, she couldn't keep hers off of him."

"What do you mean, Ron?" asked Harry, confused.

"I mean, haven't either of you noticed the ring around her finger?"

OH MAH GOD YOU GUYS DIDNT EXPECT RON TO BE THE FIRST TI NOTICE DID YOU!?
