Chapter 32: The Point of No Return
Madison Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Chapter 32: The Point of No Return
Lessons had been canceled. Exams had been canceled as well. Parents had taken their children out of school within days of Dumbledore's death.
Me? I was a ghost. I was curled up in bed, the covers of my bed covering my pale and scarred body from the outside world. George remained by my side for most of the time. He would hold me. He would rub my back.
It still hurt to loose a child even though you didn't know that you were pregnant. I felt empty, like there was a never ending abyss that was full of nothing.
The day of Dumbledore's funeral was one that would always be stuck in my mind.
We sat by the Black Lake, and the warmth of the sun seemed to be out of place considering the event at hand.
A marble table was at the front of hundreds amounts of chairs. I knew Dumbledore was a popular guy, but I never expected this many people to go to his funeral...
Chairs were taken up by some people I didn't recognize, but a few of them I did.
Kingsley Shacklebolt, Mad-Eye Moody, Tonks, whom Remus Lupin was holding with, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, Bill and Fleur, George and Fred (who were wearing the most ridiculous jackets I've ever seen, but what else would you expect from a black dragon skin jacket?), Madame Maxime (she took up two stairs), Ton from the Leaky Cauldron, Arabella Figg (she lived next to Harry and I), the hairy bass played from the Weird Sisters, the Knight Bus driver, Ernie Prang, Madam Malkin, the barman of the Hogshead and the witch who pushed the trolley on the train. The ghosts were there too, but they were hardly visible in the sunlight.
Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny and I filed into seats at the end of the row next to the lake. Luna and Neville sat on our other side.
Much to my displeasure, Rita Skeeter was there. Fury riled up in me as I saw Dolores Umbridge. Why the hell was this bitch here?
I knew the answer, of course. The pink lady had to be here in order to show her "kindness". She hoped it would improve her status.
Three fourths of the ministry officials here hated Albus Dumbledore. All these people want is power. And I'm not shocked, because humans tend to have this unhealthy desire for power. If we could, we'd all be some sort of tyrant.
Suddenly, the tomb closed shut. People began to file out. Soon, it was just Harry, Ginny, Hermione, Ron and I.
Harry and Ginny then temporarily broke up.
I followed my brother down to the lake, Ron and Hermione following me.
"I'm not coming back," Harry suddenly stated.
"I knew you would say that," Hermione sadly stated.
"We'll go back to the Dursely's, Harry and I, but it will be a short visit. Then we'll be gone for good."
"But what will you do?"
Harry took a breath. "I've got to track down the rest of the Horcruxes."
"We'll be there with you," Ron suddenly stated.
"Were with you guys, no matter what happens. But you're going to have to come to the Burrow before hand. Bill and Fleur are getting married."
"Of course," I smiled.
"Madison," Harry told me as we walked up the stairs to our room at the Dursley's.
"Yes, Harry?" I replied, arching an eyebrow.
"I don't want you to come with us," he automatically spoke. He winced, awaiting my reaction to his words.
I sighed. "I knew that you'd say that. I'm not going to go."
"What? No fight about it?" Harry asked me, his eyes wide in surprise. Hedwig hooted almost in what seemed to be laughter at her owner's facial expression.
I gave him a sad smile. "One of us had to go to Hogwarts, right?"
"But what if it's run by Death Eaters?"
"Then I won't go. I'll stay with George. Ginny. Fred. All of them. I know I'd be putting them in harms way... but the Death Eaters wouldn't do anything with only one Potter twin."
"I guess you're right. But say they find you first?"
"Then they'll take forever to find you. And if I have to be tortured by them to get information out of me, so be it. If there's one thing that I've learned over the years, Harry, it's that you and I help each other."
He was silent for a moment.
"Can we forget all of this for today? And just... have it like old times? You and me, hanging around up here and doing stuff? Making fun of Malfoy?"
I gave him a wide grin.
"I'd like that."
So...
That's the end!
Madison Potter and the Half Blood Prince is finally over. I'm sorry this book has been a very long process. But I hope that the next book is updated more frequently!
And the title of the next book is (despite us all really knowing)....
Madison Potter and the Deathly Hallows!
I'm excited for it!
The first chapter of it should be out within the next few days!
