Birthday Special
I stood next to my husband, clutching his arm tightly. Our daughter, Bri, was resting on his shoulder.
Bri was a perfect mixture of the two of us; she had light ginger flames like George, and she had by emerald green eyes. She was only two, but she had already shown signs of accidental magic.
Harry and Ginny stood next to us, their hands interlocked.
Harry and Ginny had just gotten married two months ago, and I had just gotten pregnant two months ago. Funnily enough, it was on the night of Harry and Ginny's wedding.
Hermione and Ron, of course, are due to marry this April. In about one month. They are perfect for each other; Hermione is the only one for Ron. It's quite obvious.
Anyway, only George is aware of my pregnancy. After all, I am only two months into it.
"Ready?" Harry asked me, standing on my other side.
I took and deep breath and nodded. "Ready."
I rung the door bell. About thirty seconds later, the door opened up to reveal Dudley Dursley.
"Harry? Madison?" Dudley asked, shocked.
Without acknowledging him, I walked into where I used to live. Harry, being the more politer one out of us two, stated, "Hey, Dudley."
I looked around with my green eyes. The house had changed drastically; no longer were the pictures of Vernon and Petunia up. Pictures of Dudley and his mother were very few in amount.
On the mantle over the fireplace, I noticed, as we all went into the living room, were pictures of my mother and my Aunt. I believe that I saw a picture of Harry and I in there as well.
"Aunt Peatunia?" I found myself saying.
"Madison? Harry?"
"Where is Uncle Vernon?" Harry asked, curious.
"I got a divorce from him."
Uncle Vernon...
I couldn't handle it. I let go of George's arm and ran over to the stairs.
I saw the cupboard. I slowly made my way over to it, and ran my hand against the door knob.
Deciding to open the door, I found myself soon on my knees and staring straight ahead at the tiny bed that lay in there. Two pillows were still there, and the bed was still made, it's blue and white sheets unwrinkled.
I soon felt Harry kneel down next to me; his arm reached out and grabbed his toy knight. He held it tightly in his hand, like it was his life line. I found myself gripping my old rag doll. I had played with it as a very young child, and I held it to my chest tightly.
My eyes brimmed with tears.
"Remember, Harry?" I began to ask, nostalgic. "At my funeral-"
"You want lilies. I remember," he sadly smiled.
"What about you, Harry?"
"Lilies."
I wiped my eyes using my sleeve. I sat up, my rag doll in my purse now, Harry's action figure in there as well, and closed the door to the cupboard under the stairs.
I sniffed and went back to the living room with my older twin brother. I say down next to my husband and put my daughter on my lap.
"This is Ginny," Harry stated, confident.
"I'm his wife," Ginny grinned.
"I'm George," my husband began. "Madison's husband."
"And this," I stated, bouncing Bri on my knee, "is Bri."
Bri said in her toddler voice, "Where's Wuncle Fwed?"
"Bri, this is Mommy's side of the family," I told her softly.
"How old is Bri?" Dudley wondered.
"Two!" Bri yelled, holding up three chubby little fingers.
"So you had her in 1999? When did you get married?" Aunt Petunia wondered.
"Technically, we eloped when I was about sixteen or so. And then we had a big wedding with a reception in June in 1998."
"And we weren't invited?" Dudley asked, slighting offended.
"Well, no."
"Why?"
"It's obvious, isn't it?" I replied. "I mean, why should I invite people who abused me for my whole childhood? Why would I, since they played a part of me trying to kill myself multiple times?"
I stood up and grabbed George's hand, Bri leaning against my chest.
"Goodbye, Dudley. Goodbye, Petunia."
That was the last time I ever saw the two.
