Chapter 8: let the war begin

The transfers buzzed around with excitement in the training room. Everyone talked about their first dauntless party. They chatted about dresses, boys/girls, and most importantly alcohol. I on the other hand, hoped no one would be too hung over for the fights tomorrow.

It's already been a couple of days and an initiate has already been stabbed yesterday. What was even harsh that it he was stabbed in the eye, with a butter knife. I cringed just thinking about it. I don't even use a butter knife to cut the dauntless cake anymore. It was so bloody. The last time I saw this much blood was when our dad beat Calum so much to the point where he would of died.

I took a sip of my beer as I was deep in thought.

"Hey," says a voice behind me. I turned my head to see an emotionless Eric.

"You still in leader mode?" I teased. He slightly smirked and sat down on the floor, right next to me.
He deeply sighed and ran a hand through his mow-hawked/quid hair. (A/N I honestly don't even know how to explain it XD)

"There was a meeting in Erudite," he started, "Jeanine kept talking about eliminating divergents and how they're a threat to our system." He rolled his eyes.
(A/N just a reminder that this is a 'no war' story. Things are a lot different)

"It's not like she could really do anything about it. All the factions except Erudite disagree with Jeanine." I stated. Although, it didn't stop people from treating them like vermin.
I leaned against his shoulder and sighed. We watched the initiates in a comfortable silence.

"How do you think is going to be cut?" I asked him after a moment of silence. He shrugged.

"The candor,Al.That stiff that looks like you has no strength at all. Myra from Erudite. Some dauntless born aren't so promising either."

I looked up at him. "How Sam doing?"
His piercing grey eyes started into mine.

"He's just like his big sister." He says. I looked away to hide my blush. Goodness, I needed to learn how to control my blushing.
Just then Four walked in.

"Alright! Everyone get in line!" He shouts. The transfers immediately scattered from their little groups into a straight. Wow. Each transfer was in front of a punching bag, they started as though it was going to punch them back.

"Today your going to learn how to throw a decent punch," I announced while getting up, "your also going to learn a couple of fighting techniques."

Four and I walked up to the punching bags and demonstrated some kicks and punches. After that we let the transfers try it.

Sadly...they were terrible.

I was determined to make them successful though. Transfer by transfer I corrected them on what to do and what not to do. Once I reached Tessa, she simply just glared at me.

"Your doing everything wrong," I stated. The bag wasn't even moving an inch.

That was when she snapped.

"Listen here," she growled, "stay away from my brother. He doesn't deserve pity slüts like you. By the way, watch out princess because Eric won't be yours for long." She told me with a smug smiled plastered on her face. I growled in anger. What is this girls problem? She's like a meaner version of Teddy.

"Oh yeah?" I challenged. That was when I saw her reaching for something in her pocket.

All went black.
