Chapter 3
Chapter Three~The Story of the Fallen Child
Frisk went to his room and set Flowey on the windowsill. Frisk gave him a concerned look. Flowey sighed. "You know that I'm Asriel... That's Chara. That's who I thought you were, before I finally accepted you were somebody different." The flower explained. Frisk nodded a little.
"Why is she so...?" Frisk asked quietly. Flowey sighed, again.
"You know the story everybody tells. The story of how the first human fell down, and that the prince and the royal family took her in. And how the two were just like siblings, until one day the child got a plan on how to break the barrier. ...you know how the rest goes." Flowey muttered the last part. "But... There are some things monsters chose to forget. I don't really know much about Chara's life on the surface... But I'm pretty sure she didn't climb the mountain for a happy reason... I know that she hated humanity, and she's mentioned before about how the world would be so much better without humans. Sometimes, when she thought I wasn't around... She looked so... Sad. Empty. She'd always return to her usual self once I revealed to be around, though. But every once in a while she'd just shut herself out, and lash out at me. Then one day, she revealed her plan to destroy the barrier. I agreed. She ate the buttercups, and... She did die. I absorbed her soul, and we went through the barrier. She attempted to take control, attempted to murder all the humans there once they attacked me, but I didn't let her. I didn't want anyone to die. I'm not sure exactly, but before I turned to dust I remember hearing her whisper something. It sounded like... Like she said 'I failed you'. I don't know why she's like this now, though..." Flowey finished. Frisk was wide eyed. He felt compassion for Chara. He wondered where she went.
He had to talk to her.
Frisk was filled with determination. He was determined to save Chara.
