MIK 41

41: Jealous best friends

Throughout the journey, Jisung talked about things that happened before Minho's arrival.

How Seungmin was innocent that his teacher was behind everything. Minho wasn't surprised by the revealing since Seungmin already told him, but what surprised him was the fact that Jisung iniated a talk with him, without Minho trying to get on his nerves to get to hear the younger's voice.

It was already lunch time by the moment the husbands reached home. They at first decided to take a nap, but their grumbling stomach let out different demands.

"What are you making?" Minho broke the silence, annoyed by the sudden hunger he felt, when all he wanted was a small nap, but at the same time he wanted the conversation to go on.

"Fried rice. Thank god, I know some basic dishes."

Minho let out a chuckle, "I thought you will be out till dinner, so I gave the maid a day off." He watched the younger attentively cutting the green onions, his eyes widened and cheeks puffed with air, without even noticing Minho's close presence.

He smiled at every word Jisung muttered, who occasionally gave a little pout out in the end of words, making Minho gulp at the innocent image.

They continued talking and it almost felt like a normal thing for them. The bickering, Minho messing the vegetables by chopping instead cutting and laughing too loudly, their voices echoing through the kitchen, it all felt simply natural.

Moving around the kitchen, Minho sputtered out profanities as Jisung had just made fun of one of the childhood stories he has been telling.

Somehow the younger ended up tripping when he jokingly tried to grab Minho's shirt collar, almost falling, if it weren't for Minho, who got a hold of his waist, preventing him from falling.

It was all good, until they straightened up and Minho didn't let go of his waist, that's when everything was ruined.

Jisung's tired eyes fell onto Minho's lips immediately, and no matter how much he tried to retract them, he had gotten lost, completely lost in them.

There it was again, that burning feeling in Jisung's chest. He pretended to ask himself why, or what, as if he didn't know already. He tried to feel bad about it, but there was just no way, absolutely no way.

They didn't lean in or anything, memories from the night before at the cemetery came clashing into their minds. Minho pulled him closer, their bodies practically glued next to the counter.

Jisung gulped, unconsciously grabbing Minho's collar, both of their breath pace increasing.

Suddenly Minho's phone rang, snapping them from their dreams, but they didn't pulled away until the noise started disturbing them.

Jisung turned back to his dish, his waist tingling from Minho's sensation where Minho was holding him, missing the heat. All of a sudden his waist felt lonely, without an arm snaked around it.

Fuck, I am screwed. He thought.

"Yes? Ah, okay. I will be there in an hour." He bit his lip, throwing a glance at Jisung who didn't look up before hanging up. "I'm sorry, Jisung. There is an emergency in the company. I have to be there."

Jisung gulped, finally finding the courage to turn to the older, nodding with a smile on his face, desperately trying to bring the environment back to normal.

"Of course. Wait a minute, let me pack it for you." He didn't give Minho time to answer, moving around to get the tiffin. "It is almost ready, you'll taste the best fried rice today."

Minho appreciated the way he handled the atmosphere, if it was him he would have made the atmosphere even more awkward.

"What about you? Will you be staying here? I'm afraid whether or not I will be there for dinner." Minho asked, grabbing the box from Jisung's hands.

"If that's so then I will be going to visit Hyunjin and Seungmin. I want them to meet each other." Minho nodded, watching the dazed look on the younger and he took that chance to leave an aggressive kiss over his forehead and ran away, not giving Jisung any time to react.

Jisung stood there frozen, but soon a small smile broke on his face.

Hyunjin tapped over the bar counter, annoyance written all over his face meanwhile Jisung took a sip from his Mocktails and seeing Jisung's lack of attention on him made Hyunjin even more furious.

"You know what sucks?" Jisung glanced up and raised his eyebrows.

"Vacuums." Hyunjin rolled his eyes.

"You know what sucks in a metaphorical sense?"

"Black holes."

"I swear there's a special place in hell reserved for you." Jisung leaned against the counter, sassily.

"Yeah, the throne." Hyunjin was ready to throw his hands at Jisung, but stopped when Seungmin sat beside Jisung who turned his attention towards him.

Hyunjin looked at guy in shock.

Isn't he that bar guy who helped me with taking a drunk Jisung!?

"Hey, Minnie." Jisung uttered softly with a smile. Seungmin smiled, pinching Jisung's cheek which made Hyunjin scoff grabbing the other duo's attention.

"What is this moron doing here?" Seungmin raised his eyebrows as he leaned back to get a clear view of the annoyed Hyunjin.

"Why? Is this your place, dwarf?"

"Who the heck are you calling dwarf you Goliath!"

"You-"

"Enough." Both of them immediately shut up hearing Jisung's emotionless voice and glare. They glanced at each other then looked away huffing. Jisung shook his head.

Hyunjin already hated upon knowing the fact that it's not only him who will be Jisung's best friend, but Seungmin - the person he hates- will be in the gang too. Whereas the said person hated the fact that Jisung has replaced his place with Hyunjin.

Having two jealous best friends was a pain in the ass.

"Hyunjin, Seungmin, I called you both here to bond with each other not to kill." Hyunjin glanced at Jisung's serious face then at the smirking Seungmin in annoyance.

"I don't want to be friends with some moron."

"Jinnie," Jisung called out, exhausted by his childish behaviour, "He is innocent. I already told you what happened, right?"

"Still I don't like him."

"As if I do." Seungmin exclaimed looking at Hyunjin with a smug smile. Jisung shook his already feeling done with them as they both continued fighting behind him. His phone vibrated indicating that he received a message. He took his phone out of the pant pocket, ignoring the bickering duo.

It ended earlier than I expected. Will you be home tonight?

Jisung typed out a replay with a teasing smirk.

Do I have to?

He immediately received another message.

What do you think?

Jisung left it on read. He wasn't able to control the smile, he blushed and took a deep breath to uphold the grin that was threatening to widen.

He pushed the phone back to his pants pocket and started paying attention to the still bickering duo.

"I'm his best friend now!"

"Well, I'm his first best friend."

"Wanna fight-"

"Guys." Both of them stopped when Jisung stood up, startling them. " I am leaving. Bye. Enjoy your evening!" He said and started walking away, not giving Seungmin and Hyunjin any room to protest.

"Oii, how will I go then?" Hyunjin yelled through the blasting music, but Jisung was already out of their vision. "Aish."

"Ahem." Hyunjin looked up hearing Seungmin's annoyed cough and rolled his eyes. "I will drop you if you want."

"No thanks. I will book an uber." Hyunjin exclaimed, showing his tongue, then skimmed through his phone only to realise that there wasn't any uber service at the moment.

"Ah why~" He whined and suddenly a hand holding the car key was shown in front of his eyes. He glanced at his side and saw Seungmin smirking. Hyunjin let out a sigh in defeat.

"Whatever." He tried to take the key only for Seungmin to retreat his hand back, making Hyunjin confused. Seungmin stood up and started walking.

"Follow me, bitch." Seungmin exclaimed, making Hyunjin have the urge to throw Jisung's unfinished Mocktail over Seungmin's head.

"Oh god, I hate you!"
