Chapter 11

The day of the wedding was finally here. As per royal tradition we weren't to see each other until the wedding. We were getting married at 2 which to me seemed like an odd time to marry. But they claimed it was after lunch which was served at 12 and before dinner which was served at five. We would have time to have the wedding and some alone time then the reception. Well a royal reception whatever that looked like.

I had just been served lunch in my room. There was a knock on the door. "Winnie!" I gasped opening the door for her. "I just wanted to come see you on your special day, are you nervous?" She asked. "Yes and i never thought I'd be nervous for my wedding. I mean i guess if it was a normal wedding i wouldn't be." I laughed. "Yea, you got me there. I just can't believe you're going to be Queen one day, whatever you do...don't forget us little people." "You know i could never do that." I said.

"Good. Well i think you're going to do a great job. This is so exciting." She said. "Yea, i think so." "I'm just trying to think of what your former roommate can get out of this." She winked. "Well i could get you a better job?" I questioned. "Oh, now that i like! Keep me posted." She said. "Will do." "So I'll still see you right?" She asked. "Of course, we'll see each other. I need some kind of normal in my life." I said. "Oh good, well I'd better go. I just wanted to see you for a bit." She said. I gave her a hug. "Thanks for coming by." I said.

We were at the church the wedding would be held at. I was in a small room. One girl was fixing my hair. Another one was doing my nails. Then a girl was doing my make up. When they finished they slipped me into my dress. They adjusted the band around my stomach. It wasn't tight but it had support for the baby. "Were ready for you." Said the piano player sticking her head into the room. "Okay, thank you!" I said stepping out with my dress.

I thanked the ladies and stood at the back of the church. The piano played the wedding march. Everybody stood up. There was nobody walking out in front of me. I was getting married, i was becoming royalty. I walked down the aisle and saw my Prince at the end. He smiled at me. I stopped at the end and stood in front of him. "You look so beautiful." He said. "Thank you. And you look so handsome." I said.

This wedding was different than most. Nobody gave me away. There was no wedding party. We didn't do a big photo shoot. A photographer did take photos of he and i though. We said our vowels and we exchanged wedding bands. Then we kissed as husband and wife. It was a surreal moment.

We headed into the fellowship hall of the church. After we cut the cake we danced. It was beautiful. I was meeting so many new people. It was a little daunting. But I guess I'd be doing similar type stuff as queen so I'd better get used to it. How do you get used to it exactly? I was still working on that one.

"The ceremony was absolutely beautiful." Said Prince Cedric's Grandmother. The Queen Mother, I guess that's what you'd call her. "Thank you so much your majesty. I am really happy." I said. "As am I my love. You make me a better person just by being you." He said. I grinned. "I appreciate that, I really do." I said. A man walked up to Prince Cedric and whispered something in his ear. Then he was gone.

"What was that about?" I asked. "Oh, he got all of your stuff moved over into my room, ahem our room." He said. "Oh that's nice, I could have done that though." I said. "Things really are different aren't they?" He chuckled. "Yes I suppose it is, I shall have to get used to that." I said. "Speaking of. You don't have a lot of things." "You mean clothes?" I asked. "Yes, that too." He nodded. "My father sold everything with the house. I only took the important stuff it wasn't worth the argument." I confessed.

"It's just as well. As soon as you have the baby the royal dress maker will get you new clothes. You know...ah..." "Proper clothes? You're not going to offend me. I know that thing are different. I just need to adjust. You won't offend me." I said. "Oh good." He let out a breath. "Hey were figuring out this together remember?" I asked. "Yes, so that means...I should come to you?" He asked. "Yea, I don't know what I'm doing all the time and I don't wanna look stupid. If you see me doing something stupid you can tell me. Besides I'd rather hear it from you, y'know?" I asked. "Indeed, I can do that." He said smiling.

"Good, I am exhausted. My feet are killing me." I said. "Can you give me another thirty minutes?" He asked. "Anything for you. And it'll be nice not to have to meet in places like the library." I said. "You know what? They don't need us here. We can go." He said. I smirked. "Oh really?" I asked. "Yes, I really think my parent's can handle them." He motioned with his hand. "Okay, good. Let's go then." I giggled.

We went up to our room. We passed foot men moving up Mrs. Bea's things into my old room so she could be close to the baby. We stepped into his room. All my things were in a pile. I really didn't have that much. I always thought this was my way of starting over. And I did, just not at all the way I thought I would. "Well let's get you moved in shall we?" He asked. "Well this is your place, I don't want to intrude." I said. "No, it's our place." He shook his head.

"Okay if you're sure. Just help me. I don't want to overstep." I said. "No problem." He said. It didn't take long to find a place for all of my stuff. Once we were done I was ordered to take a hot bath. Not that I was complaining my feet were killing me. When I got out my husband was sitting on the bed reading a book. He wasn't wearing a shirt. "I do recall this being how we landed in this mess in the first place." I said. "Mess? I'd say it's a blessing." He said. "Yea it's that too." I said climbing into the bed next to him.

"How does it feel to be married?" He asked. "Surreal. But perfect." I said snuggling my head into his shoulder.
