It seemed like everything was on her shoulders, all her stress, all her anxieties, and most importantly the new blossoming problems Santana and she were having with their relationship. One week had passed since she and her family had been slapped in the face with an Eviction notice, and Santana hadn't called or texted to find out if everything was okay. Aerin excused it as her being simply too busy with The New Directions's constant practice for Nationals. But, The Lopez still had the time to write on her MySpace blog about the top 10 ways she'd like to punch Rachel Berry in the face, and how she and Britt were having a 'girls night in'.

It seemed stupid when she replayed the facts in her mind, Santana would never be unfaithful to her, they were rock solid. In fact, their 2 month anniversary was just a couple of days away, Aerin had made private reservations for the big booth at Breadstix which cost over 50 dollars. She had to go out of her way to beg for extra child support money from Lennon's deadbeat dad, which was probably up there with one of the hardest things she had done this whole month.

Aerin needed a pick-me-up, something that would get her through the day and boost her adrenaline to its max. And there was no better place to get the perfect morning pick me up than a certain small coffee shop on the corner of 5th Avenue - The Lima Bean Cafe. It had almost become The Cline's morning ritual, every day before school she would drive there, sometimes with Santana on a good day, and she would order the same drink each time, The Classic Americano. An espresso shot diluted with warm, murky, hot water, served with a side of ginger snap cookies, every girl's dream. A small flicker of drool traipsed down the blonde's face as she turned into the car park, she was so distracted by her sudden americano fantasy that she didn't notice the boy that had been standing right in front of the parking space she was currently trying to back into.

" Hey, watch it !" The boy hollered, he jumped the moment he saw Aerin's honda civic approach his legs. The blonde sat up from the driver's chair, her hands began to grip the steering wheel firmly out of the shock that she might've just hit someone in the parking lot of The Lima Bean. She quickly rolls down the car window, mumbling under her breath with prayers that whoever she might've hit wouldn't sue her for reckless driving, or worse, driving under the influence.

" I'm so sorry,"ย  Aerin called out, she snapped her head round to try and see who exactly the unidentified person was.ย

Standing behind her car was a boy in a red and navy blue blazer, and a tie to match the combination. His hair was slick, almost like it was sapped in tones of very cheap hair gel. In his hand, he held two to-go cups, or at least the leftovers. All the coffee had spilled on the pavement like blood splatter, a disgusting mess of white froth and caramel latte substance. The guy in question looked oddly familiar to Aerin, she recognized him from Atticus's house party, but she just couldn't put a name to the face.

Without hesitation, Aerin quickly opened the car door and hurried to the aide of the poor guy, she bent down to pick up the coffee cup lids and a few of the napkins that had spread all over the floor. He watched awkwardly from the side, his lips were pursed and his eyebrow raised slightly. " You seem really out of it, are you okay ?" The boy asked with concern as Aerin discarded the remaining dirty napkins in the bin.

" I'm just tired, I only got two hours of sleep last night," Aerin sighed, her eyes slowly scanned the crest that was imprinted on the left side of the boy's school blazer, it was red and had bold fancy cursive D in the middle of it. Dalton Academy, slick gel hair, dark russet brown eyes, this must've been the guy that Kurt had fallen head over heels for. The only trouble was, Aerin still had no clue how to address him. Was his name, Blake, or Brain, or maybe it was something pretentious like Benedict or Leopold.

" I can totally understand the feeling, I am the king of bad sleep schedules," The boy smiled, letting out a friendly chuckle. He walked towards a vacant bench just outside the Lima Bean entrance, Aerin knew she was going to be late for school, plus Lennon was still asleep in the back of the car, but it didn't hurt to get to know the person who might be her good friend's big sloppy crush. As the blonde sat next to him, he stuck out his hand to greet the girl properly, " The name's Blaine, Blaine Anderson."

Bingo, that was it. She was close with the guesses she had made up in her head, Blaine did sound like a really fancy, not very pretentious, but proper name. The chestnut-eyed girl took his hand and began to shake it, "My name's Aerin, Aerin Cline," she mimicked purposefully as she let go of Blaine's rather tight grasp, it was a habit she had picked up from her youth, and from her dad as well.

ย "I knew I recognized you from somewhere !" Blaine responded, his tone was high as if he had just figured out who the killer was in a Cluedo mystery game. "Your brother was the one who hosted that more than terrible illegal kegger, I got major food poisoning from the bean dip.."

" Guilty as charged," Aerin smiled, raising her hands sarcastically. Both she and Quinn had made homemade bean dip for the party that day, Quinn had suggested adding more lemon and tofutti sour cream to give the concoction an extra boost, which obviously failed miserably.

" And I recognize you too, my friend Kurt has told me a lot about your big uhm...personality," A light shade of magenta pink suddenly coated the apples of Aerin's cheeks from the realization of how dirty that just sounded, Blaine furrowed his brow in slight confusion as to why the Cline had suddenly begun to blush profusely, he hadn't done anything embarrassing. Taking a deep intake of breath, the girl calmed herself down again before she began to say something else that would expose her good friend, "Let me buy you another coffee, an apology for almost running you over in broad daylight in front of about 35 witnesses"

Blaine stood to his feet, letting out another light chuckle, he replied, "No, it's alright, you were tired and weren't thinking straight, plus it's already 10 AM and I promised the guys I'd be back on time for us to practice, but I'll see you around though"

Aerin's eyes widened with panic, how had it turned to 10 AM already. Schuester would definitely snitch on her for being late to his spanish class, even though most days he was late himself from wasting away the early hours of the morning flirting with the guidance counselor in the staff room. She jerked up from the bench and began to dig around the bottom of her handbag for the keys to her car, but she felt nothing, absolutely nothing. Her panic soon turned into fear as she looked in every nook and crevice of the areas she had been for her car keys. The back of the bins, the side of her car, even the entrance of the same cafe she had never gone inside, but her search results came up negative.

" Blaine Warbler !" Aerin shrieked loudly, her anxiety kicked in as she ran towards the more than confused boy's direction. He stopped in his tracks, even though he had already made it to the bottom of the stairs he still quickly walked back up them to find out why exactly the Cline looked so panicked and scared.

" I need your help, I-I think I left my key inside the car, i-it locks once you close the door," Aerin stuttered as her hands began to tremble at the realization that Lennon had also been locked in the car with her car keys as well.

" I could try and pick the car lock with a paper clip," Blaine suggested as he reached for his back pocket, Aerin felt like strangling the Warbler right then and there. A paper clip couldn't even open a cabinet file, let alone a large, heavy, metal car door. " Great thinking Nancy Drew, the strong force of a mere paperclip will definitely be able to open my car door again !"

" Well, It always worked for Nancy Drew," Blaine scoffed inwardly as he leaned up against a nearby tree. Aerin began to pace up and down the pavement, there had to be a quick way to gain access to her car again. There was no point in calling the fire department to help, in Lima, it was a guarantee for them to take at least 35 minutes before arrival. And if the police were to even catch a whiff of this incident then they would be on the phone to child services to whisk Lennon away.

" Wait, is that a baby ?" Blaine asked, he had caught sight of Lennon from the back car window. She had managed to unlatch herself from her car seat and crawl towards an opening in between the seats, she had been playing with a very large bottle of Windex window cleaner, and had been shaking it as if it was bubble residue from a bubble blower. Aerin quickly dashed to the window, she began to bang on the window for the toddler's attention. She tried to use classic baby talk to soothe the girl, but her voice only made Lennon giggle.

Blaine looked around for something to break the front window with, he picked up sticks and several small pebbles until he came across the one thing that would definitely be able to break any car window, a brick. The umber brown-haired boy hesitated for a moment, he couldn't just throw a random brick through the window of a girl he had just met, a girl who for some reason also had a baby strapped in the back seat of her car. But he could see the fear reflecting in Aerin's eyes, the pain as she tried to break her poor baby out of the car. He bent down for the brick and began to approach the passenger's side of Aerin's car, he needed a good aim, not too high but far enough to shatter the whole window clear.

" Stand back !" Blaine shouted, his eyes narrowed as he focused on the target.

" You are kidding me, right? there is no way in hell I'm going to let you throw a brick through my window !" Aerin hollered angrily, Blaine lowered his brick slightly to turn towards the distressed teen. " Don't worry, I'm going to do it lightly so your baby doesn't get hurt, if you want to get into your car then this is literally the only option Aerin unless you have super telekinesis powers that can open anything !"

Aerin ran her hand through her hair out of pure frustration, this was getting out of control. But in some weird way, he was more than right. She had no other option and by Blaine's body language he was more than ready for this to be over with as well. A small crowd had gathered around the pair from a meter away, others were staring from inside the shop. A couple of young, rugged middle-aged men with skateboards had brought out their Blackberry phones to record the whole thing. Aerin marched over to Blaine, "If you're gonna throw that brick you'll have to aim properly."

" Wow, I didn't know there was a proper way to throw bricks at car windows, guess I missed that class during junior high," Blaine remarked as he handed the brick to Aerin.

" The trick is to aim the brick at bird's eye view," Aerin advised, inching closer to her ultimate target, her grasp tightly wound around the hard, rough-edged brick. " That way, when it lands it will metaphorically fly straight through the window, like a golden eagle on a crisp summer afternoon."

Aerin envisioned the brick as if it was a football, and the window was the goal at arm's reach. Her eyes narrow in concentration, arms raised high for good aim, if she was going to smash her car window open, the Cline was going to do a damn good job at it. Soft murmurs escape from her mouth as she counted down for the destruction that was about to occur, it was now or never. With one swift motion, Aerin hurled the red brick into the passenger's side of her vehicle. The loud, almost violent echo of the glass breaking sound rippled through the whole parking. Remenants of glass shards were scattered across the floor like wilting flower petals in the wintertime.

Aerin carefully stepped around the glass towards her now destroyed car, she then stuck her hand inside to search for the door handle. Once she had obtained access to it, the blonde firmly hanked it until it finally opened. " I can't believe you actually just did that," Blaine exclaimed, a small impressed smirk crept onto his face as he approached the car.

" Best believe it, Warbler," Aerin replied, scrapping the remaining glass that was still around her seat. Blaine pursed his lips in response to her calling him 'Warbler' for the 10th time, though he didn't mind it at first, it had gotten rather annoying as they continued to talk to each other. " It's - Anderson," the umber-haired boy corrected awkwardly, he straightened his tie and began to head towards the same bus stop again, and as he did Aerin couldn't help but push his buttons one more time.

" Whatever you say, BLAINE WARBLER !"ย

She had tried to explain why exactly she hadn't shown to the best of her ability, but what came out was nothing but a big ball of wordy, misconstrued nonsense.ย  Schuester had also put his two-cents in on how irresponsible she had been by not being on time, which was very ironic considering he couldn't even show up to any of his lessons at the time they started.ย  For now,ย  Aerin sat in the cafeteria dazed and miserable,ย  her gaze was permanently fixed on Santana and Brittany who were together at another table with the Cheerios.ย ย

Kurt, Mercedes, Tina, and Artie had been sat around her, but Aerin had managed to drown out the sound of each of their voices.ย  The only time she would ever respond to one of them was when they asked her a non-important question on why her car window was completely caved in, or how Blaine Anderson fit into the equation of how she missed the first three periods of school.

" So you're telling me, the reason you weren't here was because Blaine was helping you get back into your car ?" Kurt insisted, his eyebrow raised.ย  It took a couple of seconds before Aerin would answer Kurt's question, she was still focused on her girlfriend and Brittany clearly flirting in front of her eyes. The two now sat alone, Brittany's head rested in the crook of Santana's neck and the latina rubbed her back as they slightly rocked back and forth.ย ย

" Hello, Earth to Aerin !" Tina piped as she snapped her fingers, which made Aerin slightly startled. She turned to face her more than confused friends once again, a awkward half-smile flickered across her face like a disoriented hologram.ย ย

" Sorry, what did you say Kurt ?" Aerin mumbled in a curious tone, her arms slightly tense once she heard Santana's laughter bounce across the lunchroom like a sharp bullet careening through the air, hitting her right where it hurts.ย  Artie and Tina shared a look between each other before one of the two spoke up again.ย

" What's wrong with you woman ?" Artie voiced as he took a bite out of his PB&G sandwich.ย

" A lot of things," Aerin sighed, her eyes still permanently glued on Santana and Brittany who had now decided to feed chicken nuggets to each other.ย  The Lopez's smile was the widest it had ever been or at least wider than Aerin had ever seen it.ย  Atticus was right, there was no way those two could fake a connection so strong, so sweet, so pure. When Santana looked into Brittany's eyes, her pupils literally turned into small love hearts. It was always Brittany this and Brittany that, or ' Brittany needs me'.ย

But whenever Aerin truly needed Santana in her darkest hour, she was never around.ย

" Do you think she's still in love with me ?" Aerin interjected firmly, her fists curling into a tight ball to contain the sudden anger she had obtained.ย

" Who, Santana ?" Kurtย queried.

" No โ€”โ€”โ€” Hannah Montana,"ย  Aerin snapped unintendedly, which made Kurt roll his eyes.ย

Mercedes caught sight of the Cline glaring at Brittany and Santana from the other side of the cafeteria. It was more than obvious that they were the source of Aerin's sudden anger, she scootched closer to the blonde and began to pat the top of her hand to try and calm her down.ย

" If you're worried about Santana and Brittany then don't be, they've always been really tight with each other,ย  they're like Artie's peanut butter and jelly, a combo that just works," Mercedes tried to console, but this only made Aerin even madder. She rose from her cafeteria bench,ย  the fiery ball of anger rose within her again, and jealousy plus sudden rage was always a dangerous combination.ย  " Don't do anything you'll regret," Kurt called out behind Aerin as the blonde made her way to the 'cool clique' table, to which Aerin completely ignored his unuseful advice.ย

Once she had approached the table, the blonde firmly slammed her hand on the table so she could get the attention of everyone that was there. In the process, the girl had also managed to catch the attention of a lot of the majority of the people who were in the cafeteria.ย ย

" Her or me," Aerin asked, her voice on the verge of cracking from the hurt that was currently festering inside of her.ย  Santana looked up at Aerin in bewilderment, the question had come out of the blue and she had no idea how to answer that.ย  The raven-haired girl quickly rose from her seat, crossing her arms, she asked mundanely, "What are you talking about ?"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about San, don't play stupid with me," Aerin snapped back, her glare deepening as she stared into Santana's eyes.ย

" Woah, calm down She-Hulk don't rip my head off !" Santana stated, her arms crossed on her chest, " Are you going to tell me what the hell is going on or are we about to slap each other silly, what is going on in the whacky, wonderful brain of yours blondie ?"

" You haven't heard have you ?" Aerin asked,ย  Santana looked back at Brittany and then at the Cline again, she was completely oblivious to what she was talking about. " No, what did you win the lottery-" Santana poorly joked as she gripped Aerin's shoulder, the blonde was quick to swat it away.ย

" I'm homeless, dead broke with nowhere to go, all alone and lonely," Aerin spat, finally cracking the code, and cutting off Santana mid-sentence.ย

" Homeless? hold on,ย  you never told me anything about this happening," Santana murmured in shock,ย  running her hand through her hair.ย

Aerin took a step closer to Santana so she could meet the latina at eye level, a stray tear rolled slowly down the side of her cheek.ย  She reached for Santana's chin and began to stroke it, all the memories that she had made with the girl came rushing in like a mass flood in a harsh storm. A sudden spark of realization hit her, there was no other option. Santana deserved someone who wasn't such a constant burden, a girl who brought sunshine and brightness wherever she went, a girl like Brittany.ย ย

" I'm so sorry," Aerin softly mumbled into Santana's ear one last time, her breathing hitched.

" I have to let you go "
