๐“๐‡๐„๐‘๐„ ๐ˆ๐“ ๐‡๐”๐๐†, ๐„๐•๐„๐‘ ๐’๐Ž ๐๐‘๐Ž๐”๐ƒ๐‹๐˜, the list that would determine whether or not Aerin had made it onto the Football team. She gripped on tightly to the edge of her locker, watching potently as hurds of boys rushed over to the official finalist team sheet for who had made it and who had unsuccessfully failed. 30 days, that was how long she had waited for this moment to come, 3o days of wondering, countless nights of practice to push herself to the extreme and build up stamina in her body, so why had nerves suddenly hit her system like static shock. Santana had always been able to snap her out of these short transes of grand delusion, the latina had a saying in fact, 'don't let people smell your fear, put up a guard and walk with your head high.'

She always knew the right thing to say, her words of wisdom were as good as her ability to insult anyone on the spot. A piece of Aerin missed that about her, that and her more than infectious laugh. Her matte black hair flowing through wind, the smell of ripe vanilla and coconut that filled the air as she walked by, the sweet warmth that wrapped Aerin up whenever they hugged, those were some of the greatest moments of her life. But Santana had moved on, she was now with Brittany and that was thanks to Aerin. She had made that happen, she was the one who let go first, why couldn't she move on just like Santana had.

" Hey," A mildly familiar voice called out, Aerin craned her neck to see who the face was behind the voice, a chuckle escaped her lips once she saw his familiar gel-backed hair. "Oh my god, Blaine Warbler !" Aerin practically jumped into his arms without warning, which slightly shocked Blaine a bit.

"Wow, I did not see that coming," Blaine chuckled as he dusted his shirt and straightened his bow tie. After the whole carjacking brick-throwing incident, the two had kept in contact with one another, staying up late at night and spilling their guts out to each other about how exhausting relationships and falling in love can be, and giving each other tips on how to exfoliate their skin. " Wait, why aren't you wearing your blazer? And why are you coincidently roaming the halls of McKinley with your satchel and a bunch of textbooks."

"Suprise !" Blaine called out, spinning around with his arms out to show how ordinary he looked now. "I left Dalton, and I'm now an official student here isn't that exciting ?" Aerin widened her eyes, a furrow formed in between her brows as she closed her locker shut. It made no sense, out of all the schools in Lima that he could've gone to and the boy chose the one with the worst performance record to date. Blaine leaving Dalton was like the Queen of England trading her royal palace for a tiny home that reeked of must and cologne.

" I can't believe you actually traded private school for this garbage heap," Aerin remarked passively as she leaned up against her own locker, a smile grew across her face once she realized the real reason why Blaine had left his Warbler buddies and the luscious life that Dalton Academy had given him. Nobody ever gave up everything unless it was for one thing, love. He was totally falling for somebody, but Aerin couldn't put her finger on who exactly it was. Blaine noticed Aerin smiling up at him, which made the boy become a bit puzzled as to what was going on.

" What ?" Blaine asked, his eyebrow raised.

Aerin bit her lower lip to try and hide the bigger smile that was growing on her face, she couldn't help it, in a friend group she was always the one who got excited whenever a friend becomes involved with someone else, so it really helped that her best friend was the one who Blaine had fallen head over heels for. "You totally moved here to be with Kurt didn't you? that is so cute !" Aerin gawped. Blaine's cheeks were suddenly splashed with a mild transparent rose colour, his hand traveled to the side of his neck as his face shriveled.

"What, no way, that's completely ridiculous," Blaine commented, obviously lying through his teeth. Just as Aerin was about to comment on how bad of a liar the former Warbler was the two were suddenly interrupted by Dave Karofsky. " What's cookin', Gay Cline," The cliche high school bully greeted, a less than threatening scowl masking his face.

" Dave," Aerin responded back nonchalantly, crossing her arms to turn the other way. Karofsky took a step closer to the Cline, his right hand was hidden behind his back secretly. "I here you and Jugs called it quits a couple of days ago..what a shame, or not considering your track record," Aerin's breath quickly hitched, and the palms of her hands began to clam up. Her eyes quickly fell to the floor, this was the first time anybody had ever mentioned her past. That was a part of her that she had never told anybody about, a secret that had been buried deep for so long.

" Track record ?" Aerin turned to face Dave again, her eyes narrowing," You don't know a single thing about me."

"Well I know that you're weak, and I know that you're friends with Lady Hummel which instantly makes me want to toss you in the dumpster with all the other rodents," the boy jeered as he began to list the reasons why Aerin sucked. "And I also know that you'd give it up to anyone and that you're a big gay who's tryna tarnish the reputation of our team." The blonde's fist began to ball up, her anger had reached melting point. Blaine stepped forward to push Karofsky back by laying a hand on his chest with force, "Hey, that's enough."

Looking at Blaine with grave offense, Dave quickly swatted his hand away. "Get your hands off me dude, stay out of this," Aerin quickly began to walk down the hallway, moving towards the notice board. She couldn't let Karofsky smell her fear, all she had to do was keep her head up high and keep her guard up until the Cline could finally make it to that damn list.

" You're a joke !" Karofsky taunted, his deep voice booming through the hall. "What's the matter Cuckoo-Cline? cat got your tongue ? or are you just a scared little freak who won't admit who you really are ?" Karofsky had begun to follow the girl from behind, with Blaine who had been joined by Kurt still standing back at the lockers. Aerin took in a sharp intake of breath, that guard she had been holding up had officially shattered, there was nothing left to lose anymore. She had already lost Santana (which was all her fault) lost her only home because of her mother's poisonous gambling, and now she had merely lost all of her pride. But that didn't stop her from putting up a fight one last time.

" Takes one to know one," the girl responded, with one final push of breath, before she was hit right in the face with the familiar cold blast of a strawberry slushie. Aerin felt the burning sensation the slushie's condensation burn through her eyes, her spine shivered in agony from the ice chunks that had crawled to the back of her shirt. Everyone silently stared, the halls filled with nothing but sharp silence and the poignant squeaking of Aerin's shoes as red liquid dripped beneath her. the blonde lifted her hands to slowly wipe them, she had made it.

Her finger scrolled briskly through the list of names that had been given on the sheet, the beat of her heart began to charge at an alarming rate once she finally got to C. There it was, sealed with a black pen, 30 days, long-awaited hours, and all that hoping had finally come true. Aerin had officially become the first female member of the McKinley High Titans, everything had gone according to plan.

"Oh my god, are you okay ?" Kurt asked hastily as reached for something to wipe Aerin's stained face with.

" Yep," Aerin smirked, licking the remaining slushie juice from the corner of her lips happily.

"I've never felt better"
