Painting in the Night
A little bonus from the Remodeling Part 1
Alex let out a loud yawn, starting to feel sleepiness getting to him. The circus was working on remodeling everything starting with redesigning the carts. The first step was painting them and luckily everyone got it done today...except him. He had been so busy observing to make sure there was progress, not to mention a certain zebra and jaguar messed with him, that he forgot his cart.
After he showered from the paint and had lunch, the lion went straight to work on his cart. The sun was starting to set and he wanted to finish right away so that hopefully after dinner, it will dry. Otherwise, he'll probably sleep somewhere else for the night.
Huffing, Alex put a paint brush back inside a blue paint bucket and stretched his back. He turned around and he could see the sunset. He rubbed the back of his mane, wishing he had started his cart from before. "I hope this dries in time before dinner so I could sleep" he told himself tiredly.
"Sigh I better get back to painting" he told himself as he turned around to continue but his eyes spotted something that surprised him. So the lion was painting his cart with purple, blue and yellow with some stars on the sides. But his eyes caught something tiny polka dots of pink on part of the cart.
"Huh?" He said confused as he inched closer and he touched it. The paint was still wet and now it was on his fingers. "Where did this come from?" He asked confused and suspicious as he scanned around. He had with him blue, purple and yellow paint only. No pink paint.
"Hmm" he hummed suspicious, getting a feeling that someone was here. He was right.
Behind his cart, Gia was hiding with a smaller paintbrush with pink painting dripping. The jaguar had spotted the lion painting his cart and couldn't resist messing with him a little more.
She quietly giggled but unknown to her, Alex's ears twitched at her voice from the corner and he smirked, his intruder now caught.
The lion grabbed a paint brush from the blue bucket and slowly approached the corner, smiling misheviously as he approached it.
Gia quietly gasped and quickly moved to the other corner and went around the other side of the cart. "Ha!" Alex said confident as he swatted the paintbrush but he got surprised to find nothing...well almost nothing.
He spotted from the corner of his eyes a spotted tail and his eyes widen when he realized who it was. "Gia" he said and before he could turn around, he felt something cold hit the fur on his back and he jumped back surprised, turning around wide eye.
He spotted the jaguar who had smeared blue paint on his fur and she stood there surprised that she got caught. "Aw not again!" He said annoyed at her and she laughed at him.
He shook his head at her and he looked over his shoulder to see the paint. There was a streak of purple fur running down his fur. He glared a the jaguar. "Gia really? What? Was last time not enough for you?" He asked her, throwing his arms up in the air.
The jaguar calmed down from her laughter "I'm sorry Alex. But I couldn't resist teasing you. If it make you feel better, purple is a nice color on you" she told him as he shook his head but smiled at her.
But then the jaguar's brown eyes showed a shimmer of misheviousness and her smile too as she put down the smaller paintbrush and went for the larger one in purple bucket. "And you know, I think you could use more purple" she told him, creeping closer with the paintbrush pointed at him, dipped in a lot of purple paint.
Alex's eyes widen in alarm as he stepped back, not wanting to become a painting canvas again like last time. "No. Gia. Not this again please" he tried to reason with her but what tbe jaguar didn't notice was his paw still had the blue paint brush behind his back. He smirked at her, knowing this time he was getting revenge.
"Ha!" Alex said as he swiped the paint brush at her, drops of blue paint flunged from the brush and onto the jaguar. Now she had blue spots on. Gia squeaked surprised and she attacked him back with the purple paintbrush. Alex yelled surprised but he also laughed because it tickled the way Gia dabbed the paintbrush on him.
The lion smeared blue paint on her stomach which made her laugh and she turned around to run. "Hey get back here! It's your turn to get painted!" He told her as he chased her in circles around his cart, both of them laughing. This lion was determined to get revenge on the jaguar. And the zebra too but that's for later.
When Gia went behind the cart, Alex had a better plan. He quickly turned around the opposite way to where Gia would come from and grabbed the paint bucket to throw it at her. He had on this big smirk, looking forward for the vengence he craved.
"Gotcha!" He yelled once he caught a glimpse of her but just as he went to throw the paint at her, she crashed into him by accident and the two fell on the ground, the bucket slipped out of his paw and SPLAT!
Some of the paint fell on the ground and right on the two cats. Gia was on top of Alex, both of them covered in paint all over them. The jaguar and lion bursted out laughing, loving how they were both a mess right now. Literally.
"You look ridiculous" Gia told him between laughter. "So do you. But hey if it makes you happy, purple is a good color on you" he commented and she chuckled at him as she got off him and stood up.
She lend him a paw to help him stand up and he took it, getting up. Alex looked at both of themselves and saw how much paint there was. "Looks like we both need a shower" he noted and chuckled as Gia looked at herself.
"Si. You're right. Well, there's still a bit of time before dinner start. I will see you there Alex" she told him but before she left, she caught a look of his cart and smiled at it.
"And nice job on your cart. Is suits you" she told him smiling before she walked away to shower. Alex shook his head at her smiling. On one hand, her misheviousness was quite the handful. On the other hand, he loved it.
He noticed the pink spots that she dabbed on his cart was still there. He stared at them for a bit and decided he was gonna keep on his cart. He thought the pink actually worked well with his cart. Plus, a reminder of what happened tonight.
"Alright. Time to go shower" he told himself as he walked off to get himself clean before dinner.
