"Hold still Melman!" Alex complained annoyed as the giraffe's neck kept moving too much. It was Christmas and Alex thought maybe it be the chance for him and Gia to get under the mistletoe together this year. Well actually it was their first Christmas together.

"Um Alex why don't you just ask her to be under the mistletoe?" Melman asked clueless as he lifted his neck up too high that Alex got pulled off the ground. "Melman!" Alex said panic as he let go and landed on the snowy ground. Alex pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "Melman that's not how it works. Look Marty and I helped you out with Gloria so you owe me" Alex told him as he pulled the giraffe's neck down gently to get a good look at the knot to make sure it was tied good.

Alex nodded to himself that the knot looked secured and he patted the giraffe's neck to give him the ok. "Ok now we just have to wait for Gia" "oh that shouldn't take long" Melman said and Alex looked at him confused "Why's that?" "Because she's on her way" "what?!" Alex said panic and he peeked from behind the cart and his eyes widen when he spotted the jaguar walking by.

"Ok Melman. So when Gia comes..." Alex explained the plan but Melman got distracted when he spotted Gloria walking near the tightrope set and the hippo was right under a mistletoe.

Melman smiled but he didn’t hear Alex until "Melman? Melman!" The giraffe got startled from hearing the lion getting angry. "Did you hear anything I said?" He asked annoyed while he kept peeking from the cart to see the jaguar stopping and looking at the Christmas decorations. Melman smiled nervously and Alex sighed annoyed "ok ok I will say the plan again and you better listen ok" Alex said as he repeated the plan.

But when the lion turned his back to check on the jaguar, Melman looked at Gloria and really wanted to be under the mistletoe with his favorite hippo. Looking at Alex who was still keeping an eye on the jaguar, Melman untied the knot around his neck and removed the mistletoe off his neck. Looking around quickly, he spotted a post with tisel on it and tied the rope to it.

Looking at the lion one more time, Melman tiptoed quickly and scurried away to his girlfriend for a mistletoe moment. "Ok Melman she's coming. You ready? Melman?" Alex asked and when he got no response, he turned around and his jaw dropped when he saw the giraffe waa gone.

"What the? Where did he go?" Alex asked as he walked around, not noticing that the string was getting wrapped up on his leg. His eyes scanned for the giraffe and they spotted the mistletoe. When Alex moved to look at it, the string on his leg tugged and he felt it. He looked down and spotted the string and he looked to where the string was coming from.

The string pulled and it dragged Alex down on the snow, giving the lion a sudden chill on his fur. The string pulled him up so fast and now he was hanging upside with mistletoe swinging in front of his face. "Whooooa! Whooa!" Alex tried to stop swaying but his ears perked when he spotted Melman with Gloria.

He saw the two kiss and he stared at him dumbfounded, his jaw and eyes wide. He started to get angry, growling a bit for being betrayed. He then let out a sigh, realizing his plan would've been more easy if he had just realize there was already a mistletoe...speaking of his plan...

"Alex?" His eyes widen when he hears that italian voice and he turn his face and spotted Gia. The jaguar was a neon purple scarf above her necklace and she stared at Alex worried with her ears down. "Gia hey! Um Merry Christmas!" Alex said quickly and smiling nervously.

"What happen? Are you ok?" She asked concerned and Alex smiled at her reassuringly, he was touched that she cared about him. "Don't worry I'm fine. Stuck but fine" " How did this happen?" Gia asked and Alex got quiet, he felt it would be so embarrasing if Gia found out he was the reason for all this.

His eyes looked everywhere except hers " Well I um...um...um" Alex tried to find an excuse but he couldn't think of one. Then, the mistletoe swunged in front of the two cats' faces and they both stared at curiously. Gia held the mistletoe in her paw and looked at it confused. Alex was feeling nervous, he wondered if she knew what a misteltoe was.

Then, Gia's eyes widen and she realized it...yep she knows what a mistletoe is. "A mistletoe?" She looked at Alex who smiled and laughed nervously. "Ooooh" she said smiling and realizing everything.

Alex's nervous smile fell and he knew he was busted "look Gia I can explain..." he started but Gia walked up smiling and placed both paws on his face and gave him a small peck on the lips. Alex froze and his eyes huge.

Gia smiled at him but the two cats heard a snap and their ears perked at it. The string snap and Alex fell on the snow face flat. He lifted his face off the snow and looked at Gia who giggled at him "Merry Christmas Alex" she told him before walking away. Alex stood up dumbfounded and he melted in a smile before quietly fistbumping.
