INNOCENT

Chapter: Nine.

*******

The little boy jumped from his bed at the sound coming from behind his closed door. Jameson rubbed at his eyes and climbed out of bed then he made his way towards his door.

Face to face with the door he remembered he was still locked in so he stood there and listened to the voices he was hearing.

"Have you kept him locked in as I instructed?" Jameson recognized the pastor's voice.

"Yes pastor, he's been in there the past three days." His mother replied.

"Did you give him food?" The pastor asked.

"Once a day as you ordered sir?" This time it was his father who had spoken.

Jameson tumbled backward as he heard his doorknob clicking and then opened the moment he fell into his small bed. He was exhausted, hungry and needed to go outside. He never knew it was the pastor who had ordered that he be locked up and fed only once a day. He thought his family had forgotten him or maybe didn't just care so much about him anymore.

Jameson was upset as they walked into the room, he could feel hatred burning at the back of his heart for the adults in his room. He didn't even greet the pastor or his parents. Jameson simply crossed his arm on his chest and looked out his window.

"Jameson, how are you?" The pastor asked but he ignored the man.

"Didn't you hear the man of God!" Jameson's father rushed him and yet the boy didn't even flinch even when his father had slapped him.

"Let him be Richard. The evil spirits that have made a home inside of him wouldn't let him function well." Pastor James went on to address his parents while Jameson blocked them out from his mind.

When he looked around him once again, he saw his belongings been moved out of his room. One by one they took everything away from his room. From his closet filled with his favorite clothes to his tiny bed. He was asked to get up and when he stood his father and the pastor took his bed and carried it out from the room.

Little by little his room became empty, his games were taken, his action figures gone and yet he ignored them. The only time he fought back was when his father tired ripping Mr. Bunny from his grasp.

Jameson held on tight as his father pulled the stuffed toy from his arms.

"Let go, Jameson!" His father seethed.

"No!" He cried as he grabbed on tight.

"I said let go!" The man pulled harder coupled with another hard slap on the cheek and Jameson left the toy as he fell on his butt one hand pressed on his burning cheeks.

"Why Daddy?" The five-year-old asked as tears ran down his face.

"You need deliverance from the demons that have taken over your body!" The man replied nonchalantly as he pulled the curtain's away from the windows.

"I'm not. I don't even know what that means!" The little boy cried harder from where he still sat on the cold floor.

"I wasn't expecting you to accept it." The man hissed.

"But I'm your son, Daddy!" Jameson hiccupped.

"You are no longer my son until you have given yourself up to receive healings and be delivered from those demons!" The man punched his bedroom lights knocking then out.

"Mommy!!" Jameson tried running towards his mother who stood at the foot of the door, baby Jennifer in her hands.

"Stay Jameson, listen to your father and the pastor, this is for your own good." His mother answered without remorse.

When Jameson turned back to his father he saw his windows were already shut tight and locked while his father walked out of the room.

"Daddy?!!" Jameson ran after the man but he was shoved back into the cold, empty and darkroom as his father locked him in once again.

Jameson cried in the darkness, he begged, he screamed and banged on the door for hours until he lost the strength to continue so he sat with his back up against the door as he hiccupped from all the crying he's been doing.

***********

Jameson sat there whimpering in fear, he didn't know if it was night or still day out as the room was filled with blinding darkness. No one returned to his room that day and at some point, he fell asleep.

Jameson heard his door click and he blinked weak eyes open to have them staring into those of his pastor. Light from the passageway filled his room and he crawled to a corner and sat there.

"Jameson," pastor James called as he walked closer to the boy. Jameson crawled deeper into the wall his hands holding his knees in fear as he turned pleading eyes to the preacher man. "I'm here to help you but I can only help if you let me." The man brought out holy water and sprinkled it all over the terrified boy. Then he brought out his Bible and placed it on Jameson's feet. The boy trembled all over as the man pours more of that water all over him and even at some point gave him to drink.

Jameson drank the water, he wanted to get better even if he had no idea what he suffered from. He knew his parents never cared about him but he'd much rather have them hate him than treat him like they are doing now.

When the pastor finished with him, the man called his mother who brought in a few crumbs of the cake and a little water in a cup which Jameson took with much appreciation, he was starving.

When he finished eating he looked up to find he was back in his darkness, no sign of his mother or the pastor anywhere and the door was locked once again.

Jameson swallowed and whimpered again, he was scared.

"Let us kill him!" Jameson's head shot up to see his friends, he didn't even want them anymore as they were the reason he got into this whole mess, to begin with.

"Let us help you, Jameson!"

Jameson ignored them as he forced his eyes shut.

"You are scared, we know. That is why we chose you. We want to help you. Stop pushing us away."

Jameson's ears were hurting him as they speak and he cried. "Go away!" The boy screamed. "I don't need your help, please...leave me alone!" He begged.

"We are friends, remember?"

"No, you're not my friends, I don't want you anymore. Go away...all of you!" The boy begged and they did as he said.

Jameson crawled back into himself and cried bitterly.

They were his only friends, the only ones who cared about him.

He was alone.

All alone.
