Part 4
"So you're telling me that you called in some favors and had your death faked so that , and I quote (the bad guys after me wouldn't hurt y'all) end quote." Maddy asked with her I don't believe shit that just came out of your mouth, look.
"That's what I said isn't it?: Jack asked. He knew very well that the story sucked. But he didn't have a choice.
"And you really think that anyone one in this room believes you?" he didn't have to look at the rest of the room, he knew what there faces would show
Mac most likely believes it to some degree, since me throwing myself under the bus to keep my family safe is something jack has done countless times before.
Riley is still shell shock to much care about what is true or not.
And bozer will go along with whatever the boss woman says.
So jack went with the only thing that might get her off his back. "In the famous words of Collin Raye. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it." he said in a sing-song way. light grin spreading across his face.
Maddy glared but said. know more on the matted. it was pointless and everyone knew it.
besides what ever the doc's had give jack here wearing off and fast adding to the already great deal of pain he was in. making the room seem as if someone had picked it up and was shanking it violently from side to side.
something in his face must have giving away just how rotten he was feeling because Mac was now asking if he could take jack back to the med bay. jack was sure that there where more words used but between the pain and spinning room he was mostly focused on trying not to puke, more then what was being said.
one week later, mac's house.
jack has been staying at Macs for four days now and know matter what he did he couldn't relax.
he was jumping ,on edge and always felt as if someone was watching him even if he was in his room alone with the door closed and locked. jack hasn't felt like this since he was state side for the first time after getting out of the army. and it sucked just as much as it had back then.
and jack was know fool. he knows he has PTSD, has for a long time. but when your in a house with people who want nothing more then to know where you've been for the last year and a half it makes dealing with it a little harder, since your putting most of your time an energy into hiding it the truth from them.
Mac has been the worst out of all of them. what with the concerned looks and questioning eyes, jacks nerves were way past fried. he'd had to get this show on the road.
He need to get away And back to Luis. Before something bad happens. Like Luis getting wise to what jacks up to.
He didn't have the keys to his car, since he gave it to Riley. More or less. And there was no way he was going to make it all the way from his room to and out the front door without at least one of the three kids seeing him, so that only left the window.
Great, it's like I'm back in high school, sneaking out my bedroom window to meet my friends to get drunk. Jack laughed to himself, at the was long time ago. Back before the world was nothing but black.
It was scary easy to get out of the house.
And as jack made his down the street he spotted what he was looking for. A blacked out Tahoe sitting at the end of Mac's street. Not surprising in the least. What was surprising was who was in the Tahoe when jack climbed into the back seat.
'Luis Antonio.'
Don't get him wrong. Jack had of course known all along that he was being tracked, but he never for a minute thought Luis himself would show up to talk.
This was going to make plans a little harder. But then again when was the last time things went well for them.
Oh well.
