This one shot was and idea requested by Awesome_Turtle_ , in this AU, Ruby is an alien who was formerly from a famous superhero alien team from outer space, but after her friends replace her with another alien who was more talented and better than Ruby was, she feels unwanted and leaves to stay on another planet known as Earth, Ruby hardly knows anything about Earth so it was hard for her her to get used to, until she rescued a human from being mugged...

Ruby P.O.V:

Alone...for about my entire life, I've hardly ever been alone, I was always so happy and cheerful to all the other people on my home planet, which meant I was friends with pretty much everyone on my home planet, during the time I got older, I got accepted into Stardust Academy to become a Galactic Ranger, a super alien that is meant to protect outer space and defend our planet from the many dangers of the galaxy, such as space worms.

When I became a Galactic Ranger and was assigned my team as their leader, I was initially excited to be able to lead a team of my own and make my home planet a better place for all the people on my planet, upon meeting my team, I started to gain a little crush on one of my teammates, known as Skull Boy, he was always so funny and talented when he tries something new, I always felt so nervous on trying to confess my feelings for him, so I just waited until I had enough courage to tell him.

But, a few days ago, Galactic Ranger Control assigned a new member on our team, Serena Pearlston, she was nice and caring to our team, just like I was, but Serena's abilities in protecting the galaxy were greater than any of mine, not before too long, my teammates started paying attention to her more than me, even Skull Boy, who I saw was growing a crush on her, my pet Doom Kitty was about the only one who didn't leave me.

It wasn't before too long that Serena started to make friends with everyone that I knew on my home planet, none of the others asked for my help anymore, and Galactic Ranger Control promoted Serena into being the new leader of my team, I didn't mind any of it at first, but I had this uncomfortable feeling inside of me, something that was making me wish I was just as talented as her and prove that I was still an asset to the team, but I felt that if I were to explain these feelings, they would no longer see me as a friend and Galactic Ranger Control could take away my position.

So I decided to keep my emotions away and tried to not upset Serena that much and still act as a friend to her, but suddenly, as I thought things couldn't get worse, it just did. Skull Boy confessed his feelings for Serena, wishing to spend the rest of her life with her, and of course, Serena said yes.

The confession was too much for me to bear, with Serena already making my friends, Galactic Control and Skull Boy love her, I now saw myself as no longer useful to my planet, so I was forced to run away and quit being a Galactic Ranger and leave my home planet, I knew that it was gonna be hard to adjust being a runaway alien, but it didn't matter to me, I just wanted to get away from that place.

After gathering my belongings and bring my cat, Doom Kitty with me, I eventually arrived at a strange planet known as Earth, which was a planet that was mostly surrounded by water and had different lands scattered around the world, when I arrived to a small town near a forest of some sort, I was able to have a better look of my surroundings.

It was all so strange, the creatures known as Humans, that inhabited the planet looked to be similar to me, only they didn't have antennas or any pointy ears, on top of that, their technology was a lot more complex than mine was, lately it was hard for me to find food or any other homes to live in because I was far more different than they were, and that I'll likely attack me if I were to show myself to them, so for now, I've just been keeping myself hidden and getting whatever I could find for food.

Right now, it was pretty dark in the small town I was staying in, I was looking around the town while taking a nice walk, when I heard something near a dark part of the town.

"Hey! Let go of my wallet!!" A male voice shouted, I was nervous on seeing who it was, but from how they sounded, it felt as if they needed my help.

So I took a peak into the dark part of the town, in which I heard the voice, and saw three adults trying to steal a wallet that belonged to a young human boy with brown hair that looked to be about the same age as me, wore a red hoodie and grayish green pants.

"This is a neat looking wallet you got there, pipsqueak." One of the adults said as he smirked. "Mind giving it to us?"

"As if!! Get your own wallet!!!" The young boy said as he struggled to get the wallet back.

Oh goodness, if this keeps up, he'll likely get hurt, but I knew I had to keep myself hidden, otherwise they might go after me, noticing a few boxes, I used some of my levitational powers and threw them each of the adults that were harming the man.

This gave me the opportunity to grab the boy's hand and his wallet and get him to safety and away from the ones who tried to rob him, after we managed to escape, I turned over to the human and gave him his wallet back.

"Here's your wallet." I said as I gave the human boy his wallet back and ran away. "Stay safe!"

After I ran as fast as I could, back into the forest and met up with Doom, I was sitting next to something known as a campfire, which is made when you rub two twigs of wood together and they create a fire, it was a good way for me and Doom to warm up since we were cold.

"Nothing like sitting next to a fire to warm you up." I said to Doom as I turned to her with a smile. "Am I right?"

Doom gave a slight nod as she then laid down to relax, when I turned to the wildfire and up into the night sky, my smile faded when the night sky started to remind me of my home planet, and how I was once good friends with everyone in my team as a Galactic Ranger, I really miss my planet, but now that my friends are not with me, I can't help but feel alone and empty, something that I never thought I would feel, something that sad and confusing.

For so long, I've never told anyone about what I felt inside of me, or how I was feeling when Serena came and took everything I held dear, I never knew how to deal with feelings like this, and hurts me.

Doom Kitty turned to me and had a concerned look on her face, I sighed as I then began to pet her. "Oh I'm sorry Doom, I really miss our home, with our friends and the other members of Galactic Ranger Control, but I don't want to see my team after I have just left, it's possible that they might look for me anymore since they Serena to keep them company." I explained to Doom Kitty. "If only I was more confident in expressing my feelings, if only I wasn't conflicted on if I should go back or stay...If only I...knew who I truly was..."

I put out the fire and walked over to a nearby cliff of the forest, I looked up at the sky as I then reimagined my friends and all the fun memories we had together, then, I hung my head low, sat down and started singing to myself of what might've been if I was more confident.

I was suddenly snapped back into reality when I heard the sound of a twig snapping, I quickly turned around and saw the same human boy that I helped earlier, looking at me with shock, at that moment, I was scared, I thought the human was gonna hurt me and that my voice must've attracted him to me.

So as fast as I could, I, along with Doom Kitty ran away from the human. "Hey! Hold on!" I heard the human said as he was chasing me and Doom Kitty. "Don't run away! I just need to talk to you!!"

I didn't listen, I kept running as fast as I could away from the human, suddenly, I couldn't see where I was going so I tripped on a rock and fell into a river, the currents in the river were fast, and it was very hard to swim because of how deep the river was.

At first, I felt I was gonna drown, until I saw a nearby branch and grabbed it, then, someone pulled me back to the dray land for safety, it was the human that was chasing me, I then backed away as I looked at the human with fear.

"Please don't hurt me! I come in peace, I only came to this planet because I didn't have anywhere else to go! I won't do anything to hurt you or any other human, just please don't hurt me!!" I shouted as I shielded myself with my arms, begging for the human not to hurt me.

"It's okay, there's no need to be scared, I'm not gonna hurt you." The human said as I then looked at the human with confusion.

"Y-You aren't?" I asked.

"Of course not, I actually wanted to thank you for helping me with those thugs that tried to steal my wallet." The human explained.

I was then really confused, why did this human not want to hurt me? Does he know where I'm from? "I don't understand, why do you not want to hurt me?" I asked the human. "Don't you know what I am? Aren't humans supposed to attack aliens the moment they see them?"

"Well, people tend to attack aliens mostly because of self defense or if they're ruthless when it comes to something different." The human explained. "I just choose to give others a chance, despite their appearances or where they're from."

I stopped becoming confused and was honestly amazed by how kind this human was, he wasn't like what most of my people say about him, he's kind and wasn't even afraid of what I was.

"Whoa, that's honestly amazing." I said as I smiled.

"Anyways, I'm Mac." The human, now known as Mac said as he introduced himself.

"It's nice to meet you Mac, I'm Ruby, member of the Galactic Rangers, and this is my cat, Doom Kitty." I said as I smiled and introduced Doom Kitty, who was now standing next to me, I then frowned as I remembered that I quit being a Galactic Ranger after Serena replaced me. "Or...well...I was a Galactic Ranger...until I quit my position..."

"Galactic Ranger? What's that?" Mac asked as he didn't knew about what I was talking about.

I then gave a sigh, I wasn't really comfortable with telling Mac about my past and what I used to be, but I felt after how nice he's been to me, I would be able to talk to him.

"Well, back at my home planet, Galactic Rangers were aliens with different abilities used to help protect the galaxy and our planet from other creatures such Space Worms, who try to harm our planet." I explained. "I was formerly a leader of my own team and was tasked to help my team defend the galaxy, though, one day, another alien, Serena, was assigned to my team, she was admittedly nice and got along with everyone, but Serena's abilities surpassed my own...so much so, that Galactic Ranger Control decided to assign her as the leader of my team...everyone soon began to love her and never paid that much attention to me...no one except my pet Doom Kitty, I felt admittedly jealous of Serena because of her abilities and how she charmed each of my teammates, but I didn't want them to hate me, so I bottled up my emotions to avoid conflicts...but, one member of my team who I grew a crush on, began to feel feelings for her...after he was able to confess to Serena, she accepted it and she became her girlfriend...the confession was too much for me to bear, and after seeing how Serena basically replaced me and became one of the best defenders of the galaxy...I gave up my position as a Galactic Ranger and was left..."

I looked over at Mac and saw that he had a concerned look on his face after telling him the story of my past, I sighed as I then looked away from Mac.

"What I acted was wrong, I was supposed to be a role model for each of the citizens of my home planet, and feel fine about anything that comes my way, I felt like I wasn't allowed to feel negative emotions such as anger or jealousy, because I knew that if I felt those feelings, I would end up losing my friends and be seen as someone bitter." I explained as I felt water swelling in my eyes. "I didn't want to feel like that, but it hurt me to bottle up some of my negative emotions and watch all the people I love, being taken away, despite everything I've done to prevent that, I was never confident in expressing any of my other emotions...it's no wonder people chose Serena as their friend other than me...I'm just...not useful anymore..."

I suddenly felt arms being wrapped around me and saw that Mac was giving me a hug, after he let go, he then looked at me with a serious expression.

"I understand that feeling emotions like that isn't good, but even expressing negative emotions are important to let people know of how you've felt and let others see that you've been hurt by the choices people made." Mac explained to me. "I may not know much about your kind, but I could tell you that you are not useless, you are important in you're own image, and if it helps you, I'll be glad to accept you as my friend..."

I couldn't believe of those words that Mac said to me, he helped me learn that it was okay to sometimes express negative emotions so that people will see that I was hurt by some of the choices that people made, I then gave a smile as I hugged Mac.

"Thank you, Mac..." I said as I hugged Mac and he hugged me back.

Doom Kitty then head over to Mac and rubbed her head towards Mac's leg to show she likes him, we stayed hugging for about a few minutes, until we both left the forest, Mac was kind enough to let me stay at his house for a while...I was great full that I found a friend of my own..one that's able to listen to me...and be able to express myself freely in any emotion I wanted to...perhaps even more...
