Summoning A Soft Satyr Demon
In this story, Mac, a goth working at a local convenience store as a cashier, summoned a demon from a strange book he found in an occult shop's book shelf on mythology, he at first thought that the spell was fake, since the demon didn't spawn after inciting a spell, but when he caught a satyr demon known as Ruben, who was stealing some of Mac's food from the fridge, if was then the two of them started to bond and became friends.
The day started out like normal, the sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and everyone was going through their daily lives, we turn our attention towards a local convenience store, where a young adult man with brown hair with black streaks and gothic clothing worked as a cashier of the store, he was known as Mac, he currently graduated from college and is working as a cashier at a local convenience store before deciding on whatever job he'll take by the time he's older.
The first customer that Mac met was a jock from the college he graduated from, and was currently buying five packets of beer bottles, plus plastic cups, meat patties and buns for burgers and hot dogs.
"Okay, that's five packets of beer bottles, a packet of plastic cups, one bag of beef patties, one bag of hamburger buns and two packets of hot dogs." Mac said as he scanned all the items. "Any special occasion today?"
"Oh nothing much, I'm just throwing a party with my bros at the beach." The jock said as he smirked. "Woo! College life rules!!"
When the jock left with the stuff, the next customer Mac met was that of a woman with mascara falling down her face, two bags of chips, a box of cookies and two liter bottles of soda.
"Okay, that's two bags of chips, one box of cookies and two liter bottles of soda." Mac said as he checked through each product.
"I know, it's a lot of sugar..." The female customer said as she started sobbing. "But my husband cheated on me on our anniversary and now he won't look at me anymore!!!"
As the female customer ran away with her items while crying, the last customer Mac met was that of a middle aged man who only just brought one bungee cord.
"Okay, that's one bungee cord, do you have any concerns for this product?" Mac asked.
"Does it count as a rope?" The man asked in a raspy voice.
"Well, it is a rope." Mac said as he put the bungee cord in a plastic bag. "You came all this way for a rope?"
"Hardware store was closed, thought of trying some new hobbies." The man said as he grabbed the rope. "Knot tying probably."
Mac didn't feel all that comfortable with the male customer. "Uh, hey, how about you take this coupon instead, for fifty percent off on Roller Pizza." Mac said as he took the bungee cord and gave him the coupon, the male customer sighed as he left without the cord, making Mac sigh of relief.
Soon after a long day at the convenience store, Mac decided to head over to a local occult shop, to indulge in some books about myths of different demons and monsters.
"Hmm, this seems like an interesting book to read." Mac said as he was currently reading a book on demons from Greek Mythology.
Before Mac could pay for the book and leave, he suddenly noticed a book that was laying upside down in one of the shelves, feeling curious, Mac took the book, which had a black cover and a red occult star on it, with all a title.
"'Easy Guide to Summoning Demons for Beginners...'" Mac said as he read the title. "Demon summoning, huh? Never tried that before."
You see, while Mac is interested in all things horror or occult related, or if it had anything to do with mythology, he never once tried to summon an actual demon before, since he never thought about actually doing it before.
Mac felt unsure about it, but ended up buying both the Greek Mythology book and the other book too. So by the time it was sundown, Mac went into the basement of his house, gathered up all the supplies he needed to perform the spell, he successfully created the summoning circle and lined it with wax candles.
Mac took a deep breath as he turned off all the lights in the basement and performed the ritual, he opened the book to where the spell was located and recited the words.
"Magic forces, black and white, reaching out through space and light...be thee far or be thee near, bring me almighty demon here..."
Soon after he finished inciting the spell, he looked around the basement to see if the spell worked, but was surprised to see that things still stayed the same as usual.
"Huh, the book said that this was supposed to work..." Mac said as he looked around and looked at his watch. "Must be the time of day, maybe I'll just try again tomorrow."
So Mac then closed the book and left the basement to go get ready to get some rest, unaware that the circle was starting to glow a faint green aura.
That night, when Mac was in his pajamas and was sleeping in his bedroom, Mac woke up after he felt himself becoming a bit hungry, so he slowly opened his eyes, got out of his bed and went down to the kitchen to get a little snack to eat before going back to bed.
However, when he arrived at the kitchen, Mac noticed a silhouette near the fridge, as he took a closer look, he saw that the silhouette belonged to a figure that was grabbing some of the food from the fridge.
"Hey! Stop right there!" Mac shouted as he looked at the mysterious figure who was stealing stuff from his fridge, which caused them to run away. "Hey! Stop! Thief!"
Mac then proceeded to chase the figure through the house, and saw the figure opening the front door of the house, before the figure could got through the front entrance of the house, Mac managed to tackle the figure and pinned them to ground.
"Gotcha!" Mac said as he then glared at the figure. "Now what were you doing in my fridge you...you..."
When a flash of moonlight shined over the figure, Mac was shocked to see who person that he tackled and the one who stole food from his fridge was.
It was a young male male adult that looked to be the same age as Mac was, what was strange about him was the fact that he wasn't exactly human, but actually had the form of a satyr like demon, with him having the lower half of a goat or sheep, and red wool on his chest and wrists, he also didn't look very monstrous for a demon, as his face had a dollish like appearance with greenish blue eyes, freckles and his head also took the form of a small lamb than a goat, and his clothes were all ragged and dusty.
The demon the looked at Mac as he looked at him with a scared appearance. "P-please don't hurt me! P-please don't hurt me! I don't want to fight, just please don't hurt me!" The demon said in fear as he looked away while shivering.
At that moment, Mac instantly let go of the demon as he was shocked by the demon's appearance, and that the spell he did actually worked, he always thought that demons were creatures that were bent on evil and violence, but this one was strangely soft spoken and scared.
"I am so sorry for scaring you like that." Mac said as he apologized to the demon. "I was just shocked to see you in my house, how did you get here?"
"W-well, I remembered that I was in a very dark space near a few candles, and thought maybe I could take a few supplies so that I could go find somewhere to stay." The demon explained while still shivering.
Mac then remembered doing the spell and was surprised to see that the spell actually worked. "Oh, that must've been from the summoning spell that I used earlier ago." Mac said as he remembered.
"Summoning spell? So you were the one that summoned me?" The demon asked. "Why though? Were you planning to use me to hurt someone?"
"No, not really, I just thought that it would've been kind of cool to summon a demon." Mac explained to the demon.
"R-really? You don't want to hurt me or use me to hurt anyone?" The demon asked as he slowly stopped shivering, Mac shook his head as the demon then sighed of relief and stopped shaking. "Thank goodness, you seem like one of the kindest humans that I haven't met before."
"I could say the same thing about you." Mac said. "You don't seem all that similar to any other demons, and you happen to be more soft spoken than others."
"Yeah, I guess you could say I'm a little different than any of the other demons from Hell." The demon explained. "While I am a demon, I personally don't like the idea of torturing someone or being used to hurt someone, I would mostly just spend my time tending to plants and taking care of them, while also discover new ones. But because of that, I'm mostly picked on by the other demons."
"Oh, I'm really sorry to hear that." Mac said as he felt bad for the demon.
"Anyways, I think I should be heading off, I already caused enough trouble for you." The demon said as he then gave Mac back the food he stole. "You can have these back."
As soon as the demon gave Mac back the food that he stole, Mac couldn't help but notice that the demon felt, lonely, and sad, knowing as how much the demon went through in his time in hell, Mac thought maybe he could help him, which also serves as a way for him to apologize to the demon for tackling them.
"W-wait!" Mac said as the demon then stopped to turn towards Mac. "U-Um, if it helps, you could stay here at my place and be roommates with me."
"Roommates?" The demon asked. "You'd really want to be roommates, with me?"
"Yeah, my house has been a bit lonely for a while, and, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have some company with me." Mac explained.
The demon then smiled as felt grateful that someone was kind enough to let him stay and become his roommate. "Thank you." The demon said as he smiled.
When the demon smiled at Mac, to him, it was as if an arrow was shot into his heart, while he never had an interest in being in a relationship with anyone, or was a person that fell in love at first sight, he couldn't help but feel his cheeks flushing because of the demon's smile.
'Oh god...most demons were supposed to be mean and cold...but...this one is just...so freaking cute!!' Mac thought in his mind. 'How can a demon be so precious and soft!!...'
"Uh, sir? Are you alright?" The demon asked.
Mac then snapped out of it and cleared his throat. "It's okay, I'm fine." Mac said as his cheeks turned back to normal. "It's nice to meet you, I'm Mac."
"It's nice to meet you too, Mac." The demon said as he smiled. "I'm Ruben."
