The cheerful crew had so much fun at the dinner, especially Russ and Desi, that for quite some time had started to establish a feeling. The two "guests of honour" had great fun too. Mac, after all the tragedies he had to face in that period, was finally finding again a little peace of mind. He had to thank his marvellous friends for that, but, especially his Riles, who had never stopped believing in him, not even for a second, although everyone stopped believing it. She had saved his life, risking martial court, as well as her own life, if everything hadn't worked out.

That night an incredible surprise was waiting for her, one of mac's inventions, to whose he had worked on last night, in case Riley had accepted being his girlfriend. Wow, he still didn't believe it was true. Finally, after having gone through so much sufferance, he was really happy and he wouldn't have let anyone or anything ruining him that moment. The only sore subject was the lack of his parents and of his just newfound aunt. They had sacrificed themselves for him, so he had to live at the best for them too.

Greeted their friends, he and Riley headed to the car to come back home. There, there was an embarrassing moment of silence, but which said more than a lot of words.
