2: A truth between so many lies!
As I entered my house, my whole family was there! Sitting like they were having some kind of conference.
"Oh, you're here," said my father, Mr. Avinash Gwalvanshi.
"Yes!" I replied shortly.
"Are you hungry?" asked my mother, Mrs. Shridha Avinash Gwalvanshi."No, I'm not hungry right now," I said.
"But eat something; you have to take your medicine," said my uncle, my father's elder brother, Mr. Abhidev Gwalvanshi.
"Yes, and after that, take some rest. Tomorrow is your competition, so you have to wake up early," said my aunt, Mrs. Suhani Abhidev Gwalvanshi.
"And yes, Maanu, don't stress too much about the competition," said my grandfather, Mr. Devraj Gwalvanshi."Okay!" I said, heading toward the kitchen where my mother and aunt were!
"Give me some snacks; I'll eat in my room."
"Divya and Anaya are coming today in the evening," my elder sister Divya, who is eight years older than me, and Anaya, who is six years older, were expected."Oh good! Call me when they arrive; I have to study, so I'm going now!"
I was going upstairs to my room when someone grabbed my neck-it was none other than my third elder sister, Shivya! She is three years older than me and is currently in her first year of medical school.
"Maanu, you know this weekend he's taking me on a lunch date," she said! Okay, so she's talking about her boyfriend, Mr. Aveer Nair.
"Oh, so what will you tell everyone? Because this weekend, Anaya di and Divya di are also going to be here!" I asked."Are! When you're here, what fear do I have?!" She blabbed, encircling her arm around my shoulder as we walked toward our room. Yeah, I share a room with her. Not just her, but all four of us sisters share the same room.
"Look, I'm not going to lie this time," I stated."But you just have to say we're having lunch outside; that's it," she explained."And what about di? They will definitely ask," I said."Please handle them for me! Please," she requested, making a cute baby face.
Okay, I'm the youngest in the house, but her innocent face can make you do anything she asks."Okay, okay," I said, sitting on my bed.
So, we have four single beds in this room for the four of us!"But look, I'm not going to lie to them! I'll tell them the truth, and then the three of us will go to another restaurant, and you can enjoy your date." I said this because I'm not going to lie to my sisters.
I might as well die than hide something from them; they're my other half. They know everything, just not some things that aren't clear to me. I didn't tell them, but now after today's session with Mr. Rajodiya, those things are also clear to me. But I don't know how to tell them, or what if they already know about all this mess? Do they really not find it important enough to tell me? Or am I just overthinking? If my whole family knows, then surely there's a chance they do too. But if our family didn't tell them, just like they didn't tell me... not hide, but they clearly lied to me. A white lie!
"Oo, hello! Where are you lost, girl?" said Shivya, shaking my shoulders. God, is she obsessed with my shoulders or what?!"Ah! Nothing, just thinking about di. I miss them. It's only been five months since they left, but it feels empty without them," I said sadly. Yes, five months ago they both married the love of their lives!
(Note the sarcasm.)
They are my sisters, but I still felt something... I still remember that-"Yes! I miss them so much-our late-night talks, watching movies together, fighting with each other, and all!" she said, tears in her eyes.
"Oye, don't cry! You know they're coming today," I said excitedly."What?! They were supposed to come tomorrow, right? But I'm so happy they're coming today!" she exclaimed. After some chitchat, we both headed downstairs when we heard our sisters' voices.
"Aish! I missed you both so, so much!" I said, hugging them both."We missed you too, Maanu," they exclaimed."Hope this little missy didn't trouble you much!" said Divya, knowing Shivya is a lazy one and doesn't do any work herself.
When I said she can make anyone do anything with her innocent face, that's what I meant. I always have to do my work along with hers, like making our bed, preparing school and college bags, cleaning her study table, and all.
"How?! I don't trouble her, okay?! I'm a good girl; I do all my work alone. You just don't know how to appreciate it!" Shivya said dramatically."I know, I know, your highness," said Anaya, twisting her ear.And they all just laughed at our banter.
Then we had dinner while chitchatting. Mostly, it was just Divya irritating Anaya and Shivya. After dinner, everyone was sitting in the hall talking when suddenly Dadu said something that caught my attention as he was on the phone with someone.
"Yes, yes! Mr. Saini."
Mr. Saini. I know that name! He's talking to my grandfather, but it did something to my heart. Why isn't he talking to me? Am I that bad?! By now, everyone was looking at Dadu, and by their faces, it was clear my mother, father, uncle, and aunt knew every single thing! I'm not surprised they knew; I had an idea they all did. But looking at my two elder sisters' faces, it's clear they knew too! It breaks my heart that if they knew, then why didn't they tell me? Just why?! And looking at Shivya's face, it's clear she didn't know anything; she's just as clueless as me. But the difference is, she's genuinely clueless, whereas I'm just pretending.
After Dadu hung up, my father and uncle looked at him, asking with their eyes what Mr. Saini said. Mr. Saini-it's weird to call him by that professional surname, not by his name, which is Mr. Rudraksh Saini, which was supposed to be my last name. But alas, fate has other plans, so right now, I'm without any last name-just my name! And I guess that's enough."
"He said he wants to meet us," said Dadu."But what's happening suddenly that he wants to meet us?" said my uncle."I don't know, but he's restless and wants to meet us," said Dadu.
Whoa, he's restless after taking my rest, my calm-everything! And now he's restless? Just wow!"Okay! So when is he coming?" asked my father."He just landed in Gujarat an hour and a half ago, and he's on his way here now," said Dadu, making everyone shocked.
He's coming! I'm going to face him, but how?!After some time, here comes Mr. Saini with two other men, and wait a minute, I think I've seen one of them! But where? Or am I just imagining it? As Everyone says.
I was thinking all this when Mr. Saini suddenly took me in his embrace! I was shocked, happy, sad, confused-there were so many emotions swirling inside my heart!I was just processing what just happened when he patted my head and looked at me. His eyes were moist, like he was on the verge of crying. Then he turned his head and shook hands with my grandfather, father, and uncle, before sitting on the sofa. The two men sat down as well, and Dadu said, "He is Mr. Saini, and these are his nephews."
I was looking at one of his nephews, thinking where I had seen him, but I suck at remembering faces. Suddenly, he spoke, making me jump."I know you're wondering where you've seen me, right?" he said.
What, did he read my mind?
"No, I didn't read your mind; I just read your eyes!" he replied.
God, he's really something!
"Maanu, your medicine," suddenly my aunt came from the kitchen, handing me my medicines.Medicines!
Hospital! Yes, hospital!
"Hospital!" I blurted, regretting it the moment I spoke."Yes, your memory is so good! You remember me after all those three years!" he said, a spark in his eyes.Yes, I remember-I saw him in the hospital where I was admitted... three years ago!!
So the second chapter! 1551 words
