Third person's pov:
Reyansh stood outside the door to Manbir and Akveer’s room, his hand hovering over the handle. The events of the night were still fresh in his mind—his adrenaline still buzzing from the chase, but beneath it all, he felt the guilt creeping in. The argument he’d had with them the night before had been heated. He’d let his frustration get the best of him, and now, after everything that had happened, he knew it was time to face them.
With a sigh, Reyansh pushed the door open. Inside, Akveer was sitting on the bed, his face unreadable, while Manbir was pacing the room, the tension still evident in his posture. Neither of them looked particularly pleased to see him, but there was a sense of calm—an expectation of what was to come.
Reyansh stepped inside, his voice quieter than usual.
“Bir Bhai… Akveer bhai…” He hesitated for a moment before continuing. “I… I came to apologize for the other night.”
Akveer raised an eyebrow, his arms crossed over his chest. Manbir, who had been pacing, stopped and fixed his eyes on Reyansh, his expression hard but not without a flicker of curiosity.
Reyansh exhaled slowly.
“I was out of line. I know I kept pushing you both, not listening, and it wasn’t fair to either of you. Especially after everything that’s happened with Manhaar, I should have been more understanding.”
Manbir’s eyes softened slightly, but his voice remained firm.
“You don’t just push people like that, Reyansh. You don’t understand how it feels to constantly fight for something when you don’t even know what’s right for someone else. We’re not the enemy. We’re trying to protect her, to give her time.”
Reyansh looked down, shame creeping up his neck.
“I know. I wasn’t thinking. I just... I just wanted to help her, to make sure she doesn’t feel alone.” He glanced up at them. “But I see now that I was doing more harm than good. I should’ve trusted your judgment.”
Akveer uncrossed his arms and gave him a long, assessing look.
“Reyansh, we’re all on the same side. You don’t need to fight us to prove you care. You just have to trust us. We know it’s difficult, but we’ll figure this out together.” Manbir tried to be reasonable with Reyansh
Akveer nodded in agreement, Manbir continued, his tone softer now.
“We’re all trying to keep her safe, Reyansh. Don’t let your feelings get in the way of that. I know you care about her, but pushing her too fast… that could backfire. We can’t rush it.”
Reyansh took a step forward, his voice more sincere now.
“I understand. I’m sorry for being stubborn and for not seeing the bigger picture. I just wanted to make sure she’s okay. I promise I’ll be more patient from now on.”
Manbir gave a slight nod, a rare flicker of a smile tugging at his lips.
“That’s all we ask. Just... be patient, Reyansh. She’ll come around when she’s ready, but we can’t force it.”
Akveer, after a moment of silence, finally spoke, his voice quieter.
“Just remember, family comes first. Not our egos, not our frustrations. Her peace comes before anything else.”
Reyansh nodded, his eyes softening as he looked at both of them.
“Thanks, Bhai. I’ll do better.”
With that, the tension in the room seemed to lift. Manbir gave him a reassuring pat on the back, and Akveer offered him a rare, brief nod of approval. The apology, though simple, had cleared the air. It was a small step, but it was one in the right direction. Reyansh felt a little lighter, knowing he had finally done the right thing.
Reyansh stood there for a moment, letting the silence settle after his apology. His words hung in the air, and it seemed like his brothers were finally accepting it. Akveer gave a slight nod, while Manbir’s expression softened, just a little.
But the weight of the previous night still lingered, and after the tension broke, it felt like the perfect time to address the next issue.
Reyansh cleared his throat, trying to shift the conversation.
“Alright, Bhai. We’ve got the apology part out of the way. But about those robbers... what now?”
Manbir exhaled, his brow furrowing slightly as he leaned back on the bed.
“First thing’s first. We’re reporting this to the police immediately. They need to know what happened, and we need to make sure we’re taking the right steps from here on out.”
Reyansh nodded.
“I already called them on the way back. But we don’t have much to go on. I mean, they were masked. And by the time we made it back to the car, they were gone. I don't think they got any of our wallets, at least, so that's something.”
Akveer crossed his arms, a grim expression on his face.
“They were prepared. They knew what they were doing. It wasn’t a random hold-up. We need to be careful. Whoever they are, they’re not just some petty criminals.”
Vyom, who had been quiet up until now, added in a low voice, “I don’t like how quickly they showed up, either. They knew exactly where to go, what to do. It wasn’t just luck that they found us at the drive-thru.”
Reyansh clenched his fists, frustration clear in his tone.
“That’s exactly it. It felt too coordinated. Like they were following us. But how? How could they know we’d be at that specific drive-thru at that time?”
Manbir rubbed his temples, his mind racing.
“That’s what worries me. They had some sort of intel. But it doesn’t make sense. You were just looking for food. Nothing about this seemed planned out. Unless someone knew our routine...”
Akveer’s sharp gaze fell on Reyansh.
“Did you see anyone suspicious when we were in the parking lot? Anyone who might have been watching us or following us?”
Reyansh shook his head.
“I don’t know, man. I wasn’t paying attention. I was too busy worrying about not getting hit by someone else on the road. But now that you mention it, I did feel like someone was staring at us while we were waiting in line. I thought I was just being paranoid.”
Aditya, who had been sitting quietly in the corner, suddenly spoke up.
“You know what? I remember seeing a car parked across the street. It was there when we arrived, and it was still there when we left. It didn’t move. Could be nothing, but it definitely stood out.”
Shivyansh’s eyes lit up.
“That’s something! We could ask the police to check the surveillance footage from that area. If we get a look at that car, maybe we’ll have a lead.”
Vyom nodded.
“That’s a good idea. The police can start by looking at the cameras around the area and check if there’s any connection to those robbers. We need to find out who they are and how they knew where to strike.”
Manbir’s expression darkened.
“We need to move quickly. The longer we wait, the harder it’ll be to track them down. They’re probably already long gone by now, but if we have a car or even a description, the police can track it down.”
Akveer, as usual, remained focused, his tone decisive.
“We should also take extra precautions. Whoever they are, they’re dangerous, and they clearly know what they’re doing. We can’t afford to take any chances. Until we know who’s behind this, we stay alert.”
Reyansh leaned forward, his hands gripping the back of a chair.
“Should we set up security cameras? I know it's a pain, but it could help if we get any more threats.”
Manbir nodded slowly.
“Good idea. We’ll get the whole house checked out. Cameras, security systems, the works. We can’t take any risks now.”
Akveer looked at them, his gaze serious.
“And no going out alone. We stick together for the time being. If they’re targeting us, we need to be careful about our movements. We don’t want to make it easier for them.”
Reyansh shifted uncomfortably, knowing this wasn’t just about protecting themselves. It was about protecting Manhaar too.
“What about Manhaar? She wasn’t exactly... involved in all this, but she was with me at the time. Shouldn’t we make sure she’s okay?”
Manbir gave him a hard look, his voice firm.
“We will. I’ll make sure she’s safe. Don’t worry about her, Reyansh. But you need to be on your guard too. If they were targeting us, they could come back. The last thing we need is someone slipping through the cracks.”
Reyansh clenched his jaw, his mind still spinning with everything that had happened.
“I just... I don’t get it. Why target us? Why now?”
Akveer exhaled slowly, his voice low.
“We’ll figure that out, Reyansh. But right now, we need to focus on finding them. Once we have a lead, we can go from there.”
Manbir stood up and walked over to the window, looking out as if assessing the situation.
“I’ll make a few calls. We’ll get the police on this immediately. No more waiting. We need answers.”
Reyansh nodded.
“Alright. Let’s get this sorted. We can’t let this slide.”
As the brothers fell into a tense silence, each one processing the gravity of the situation, one thing was clear: no matter what had happened the previous night, they were united in their determination to protect each other—and now, they would do whatever it took to ensure that the people behind the robbery wouldn’t hurt them again.

As the last rays of sunlight faded, the siblings gathered in Shivansh’s room, their laughter and playful banter from the day slowly subsiding into a more relaxed, introspective atmosphere. The eight brothers sat in a loose circle, the mood different now—calmer, more contemplative. Even Aditya, who was usually full of energy, seemed quieter, leaning back against the armrest of a chair with his arms crossed.
Shivansh stretched out, his gaze lingering on the window. “So, how was today for everyone? You think she’s finally starting to warm up to us?”
Reyansh leaned forward, propping his elbows on his knees. “I think we did a good job of making her feel included. I mean, Vyom was basically her personal guide today, so if she didn’t get close to him by now, I don’t know what will make her,” he said with a teasing grin, but there was a subtle softness to his words.
Aditya, smirking, added, “I don’t know, man. I’d say I had the edge today. Archery, races, all that—she couldn’t resist the charm,” he chuckled, nudging Vyom, who was leaning against the wall, silently sipping his drink.
Vyom didn't respond immediately, his calm demeanor unshaken. He was a man of few words, and when he spoke, it was always with a steady tone. “She seemed to enjoy the horseback riding the most. She trusts me. That counts for something,” he said, his voice low but confident.
Akveer and Aviyansh remained mostly silent, as usual. Akveer was tucked away in a corner, his eyes half-lidded as he stared at nothing in particular, his arms folded over his chest. Aviyansh, on the other hand, leaned back, his gaze flicking between the others, but he never contributed much to these discussions.
“Yeah, I think we’re making progress,” Manbir said, his voice calm but authoritative. He glanced at each of them, his steady gaze the only one that commanded full attention. “But we shouldn’t be in a rush. She’ll come around when she’s ready. The more we force it, the more she’ll pull back.”
Aditya rolled his eyes but smiled. “Always the responsible one. You’re right, though. We don’t want her to feel like we’re making it into some competition. Even if I would totally win if it came to that.”
Shivansh’s lips twitched in amusement. “We already know you’d win,” he said, raising an eyebrow. "But let's be honest. She’ll end up picking us all in some way. I mean, I get that we all want to be her go-to person, but the truth is... she’s probably gonna be closest to all of us at different times."
There was a quiet pause as everyone reflected on that, and Manbir gave a small nod. “True. I just want her to feel at home here, to know we’re not just brothers by blood. We’re here for her.”
“Yeah, she’s definitely starting to settle in,” Reyansh said, eyes drifting toward the door, as if expecting her to walk in at any moment. “She didn’t look so out of place today. There’s still that little bit of awkwardness, but it’s fading.”
The tension in the room started to fade as the brothers continued to relax, but there was an unspoken understanding—Manhaar’s presence had changed things, and they all noticed.
But no one, not even the sharp-eyed Akveer, noticed the way Manhaar had slipped quietly into the hallway after her walk in the garden. They were too caught up in their conversation about her progress, their hopes for their bond with her, and the laughter from earlier still lingering in the air.
However, as the conversation shifted toward more light-hearted topics—what movie to watch next, when they would all meet again—it was clear that the playful vibe from earlier was still alive in their voices. Aditya turned to Vyom with a mischievous grin. “Alright, Vyom. You’re up next. I’ll let you try to win her over with your charm.”
Vyom simply looked at him, almost unamused. “We’ll see,” was all he said.
But despite the laughter and teasing that would follow, something in the air had changed. Each brother was starting to feel that bond forming with Manhaar, but no one knew just how deep it was going to get—or what secrets were beginning to surface.
The room had lightened again, but an undercurrent of tension lingered, unnoticed by most, as the evening unfolded.
That's all for this chapter!
Hope you all liked it.
Stay happy and healthy.
