(No one's POV)

'Which mission should I pick...'

The A-Rank Cavern Dragon Slayer of Divinus Magia wondered while looking through all the A-Rank missions.

You see, the dragon slayer wanted to get out of the guild for a little bit so, he decided to take a mission.

Suddenly, one of those pieces of paper catches his eye.

'Lost Phone in Atlantide Markets...

A citizen of Atlantide has lost their cellphone somewhere in Atlantide. It has been stolen by an unordinary goose and we need a strong mage to help us. Please send someone ASAP.

Reward: ************* (Dunno how much to do :P)'

Mario stood there for a moment before he started chuckling to himself. 'They need an A-Rank mage for a little goose? This should be a C-Rank mission'.

After his little disbelief moment, he took the quest anyways because it was actually a pretty good pay.

Walking to the twins' shared office, he was still chuckling to himself but stopped when he reached the door. Opening the door, he could only see Ritchie doing paperwork.

"Umm Ritchie?"

This mage the lightning mage jump a little as he turned to face Mario.

"Jeez, I didn't know a rock could be so quiet!" He chuckled a bit. "Anyways, whatcha need?"

Mario puts the paper in front of his guild leader for him to read. "I came to ask if you could approve this quest."

Ritchie pried the quest out of Mario's hands and began reading. His face went from blank, too surprised, to giggling. "Seriously? There's a quest for a wild goose hunt? Why would you wanna take it? Is it even A-Rank?"

Mario had a little chuckle himself. "I know, I was surprised myself. I took it for the pay and yeah, it was on the A-ranked mission board."

"You know what? Sure, go ahead and tell me how your goose hunt goes." Ritchie hands the piece of paper back to Mario and goes back to his paperwork before mumbling "A-Rank goose hunt..."

Mario laughs and proceeds to walk out the door, saying a small hello along with a chuckle to Brandon as he walks by before heading towards the boat.

Brandon seemed a little confused at what he was laughing about but didn't question it. But when he walked into his office to see Ritchie doing paperwork with a laugh of his own, then he was going to question it.

"What's got you two in the giggles?" Brandon questioned, smiling a little while leaning on the door.

"Mario took a quest from the board about a goose hunt. Apparently, it was A-Rank!" Ritchie laughed but stopped when he saw his brother's surprised face.

"Uhhh, is something the matter Brother?"

"Did you say... A goose hunt? Brandon's face was blank.

" Yes? Is something the matter?" Ritchie asked a bit concerned about his brother's attitude right now.

"That mission was supposed to be S-Class..." Brandon mumbled. Luckily for Brandon, Ritchie didn't hear him.

"What was that, Brother?"

"Nothing. Let's just get our paperwork done." Then they carried on with their papers. Ritchie let a few giggles come out but Brandon was just concerned for Mario's safety.

Let's just hope he comes back in one piece...

(Mario's POV)

'Still can't believe there's a quest for a goose hunt...' Mario shook his head, chuckling as he got off the boat. Luckily, he took some sea-sickness pills before getting on so, no gagging for him!

One of the town's citizens came up to the dragon slayer, a relieved and worried look plastered on their face. "Oh thank god they sent someone!!"

Mario was a bit surprised by the panic radiating in the area. His gut was telling him that this wasn't a joke...

"Uhh, yeah? I got the quest of a lost cellphone and a goose...?" He asked, uncertain about the whole situation.

"Thank you for coming!! You are S-Class, right?!" The man pleaded, panicked.

The dragon slayer was now baffled. It's an S-Class mission?!

"No. I'm Mario, A-Rank Cavern Dragon Slayer of Divinus Magia. Could you please take me to this phone?" Mario was so unsteady about the whole situation but still decided to do the mission.

The town's folk panic rose a little but they began to wander off to do other things. Probably not wanting to watch this poor guildmember get beaten to a pulp by a rainbow goose! Yeah, not fun.

"Ummm, if you're sure? Then follow me." The man hesitated but lead Mario to a clear space within the centre of town, where only a phone lay on the ground.

"Is that the phone?" Mario pointed at the device, which was perfectly normal currently.

"Yes, it is now... GOODLUCK!!" The man took off running like his life depended on it. Now, Mario was left in his thoughts. 'Where the hell is the goose?'

He shrugged and walked towards the apparently 'dangerous' device and before he could grab it, the screen cracked in every direction possible. This made the mage jolt his arm back and he stepped away. Smoke then appeared around the phone as it began to levitate off the ground.

As the smoke disappeared, Mario's eyes widened like saucers. 'This is what they meant by a goose?! It's MASSIVE!'

The goose that Mario was talking about had to be 5 times Mario's size, rainbow feathers, eyes like it's on A LOT of caffeine, for some reason a fedora, and a sledgehammer that was basically Mario's size.

"What. The. Fuq. Are you?!" Mario got into a defensive stance, not even sure what to do.

The answer he got, was a swing from the sledgehammer towards his legs, only just missing them. This made the goose angry at Mario dodging his attack and it swung again, this time hitting Mario in the side.

"Argh!!" Mario grunted as he knew for a fact he would get some broken bones from this. Mario managed to summon some dirt to land on, so he doesn't hit the wall.

Rainbow Goose got even more frustrated at Mario and swung again, this time hitting Mario straight in the stomach, making Mario hit the wall behind him.

"Ouch!!" He gripped his stomach as he tried to stand against the wall but was failing miserably.

If you didn't think that the goose could get more frustrated than this, then you thought wrong! Cause this goose got so angry, its eyes turned a glowing red, as it struck Mario in the face with a sharp handle? I really don't

Mario was lying, nearly unconscious by all 3, nearly 4, attacks he's taken. He's definitely got a few broken ribs, possibly a sprained leg, and A LOT of bruises and cuts. He might even have a concussion :3

Suddenly, as the goose was about to strike Mario again, a ringing sound could be heard by the phone. Mario, only just barely being conscious, managed to look up in time to see the goose being engulfed in smoke again and sucked into the cracked phone.

All went quiet except for the occasional coughs of blood from the dragon slayer in the corner and the ringing from the phone.

After using a little bit of mana, Mario manages to stand up probably, with support from the wall and limps to the phone.

"I-I think I-I'll just l-l-leave you h-here..." Mario said in a hoarse voice after his chest got the wind smacked from him. Then, he began his trip back home, while limping and coughing blood.

Back at the guild...

(Ritchie's POV)

'Where the heck was Mario?'

Currently, the guild was in the guildhall, waiting for Mario to turn up from his quest so we can start the meeting.

Except he started that quest this morning, it's now the late afternoon.

"Where's Pebble-Brains?" David suddenly asked, a little worried. I just shrugged my shoulders.

"He should've been back from his quest by now. David, how about you go-"

Just as I was speaking, the guildhall door slammed open and everyone's faces turned towards the door. All our faces were covered in shock and concern when we saw Mario's condition.

He's covered in head-to-toe by bruises and cuts, he's got a limp and he's coughing up blood every second. Mario even looks like he could pass out any second. Just to top things off, he's got a giant scratch across his face which will definitely leave a scar.

"What in the actual gods of Atlantide happened to you?!" Lucas yelled, completely baffled like the rest of us.

"I-I-I... T-That w-was more t-than a g-g-goose hunt..." After Mario coughed up some more blood, his eyes closed and he fell forward. He would've hit the floor if I didn't storm-blink to him in time to catch him.

"I'll take him to the infirmary. David, go find Lo Pho please and tell him to hurry." David quickly got up and left while I took our dragon slayer to the infirmary.

~~~Skip to Lo Pho's grand entrance~~~

(Brandon's POV)

I knew this would happen. I accidentally placed an S-Class mission in the pile of A-Class papers, and Kit placed it on the board.

I followed my brother to the infirmary as I'm the best at medicine out of everyone in Divinus Magia.

"So how bad is he?" Ritchie asked, worried as I was checking up on the earth mage.

"Well... He's littered in cuts and bruises, he's definitely got a sprained leg and a few broken ribs. Lo Pho should be able to heal most of it but, he may have a little bit of a limp for a while." I replied, getting the bandages and ointment out of the cupboard, ready for when Lo Pho and David get here.

"So... What quest did he take?" I asked my brother, already knowing what quest he took.

"One about a goose stealing a phone in Atlantide. Apparently, it was with the A-Rank quests so, I let him take it. I didn't think it would be THIS bad."

"Well, that quest was actually supposed to go on the S-Class board. I just misplaced it." I say slyly, rubbing my neck.

"Uhhh... We'll have to ask Mario when he wakes up to see what happened. We also gotta wait til Lo Pho gets here." He says, looking back at Mario lying on the bed.

"Speak of the devil" We turn towards the door, where the ginger cat with wings and an ice mage were running towards us, worried faces on both of them.

"Alright! I'm here!"

~~~After like a while of healing~~~

(David's POV)

Brandon, Ritchie and Lo Pho were just talking among themselves, while I was sitting besides Mario's bed, waiting for him to wake up.

As I was listening in to the conversation behind me, I suddenly hear a groan behind me and my head whips to the source faster than Ritchie's storm-blink. Mario had his eyes slightly open and was trying to sit up.

"Mario, stay down. You have a few broken ribs so please stay down." I say gently as I push him back down on the bed. He easily complied, lying down again like before. He looked a little uncomfortable lying down so, I reluctantly helped him sit up, which he was grateful for.

"W-What happened?" He croaked out.

"You went on an S-Class mission by accident. Now, I know it may not sound like an S-Class mission, but it was, maybe even an SS-Class." Brandon sighed. The rest of us, excluding Mario, looked shocked and Lo Pho was a little confused.

"What was the mission?"

"It was a quest for a lost phone that a goose had stolen." Ritchie shrugged.

"Wait, what was the mission?" I asked, back-tracking what the bluenette just said.

Brandon answered me instead. "It's a quest where initially, someone lost their phone. When the person found it, a rainbow goose spirit was circling it. The goose saw this person, and absorbed itself into the phone, corrupting the spirit into that monster of a duck that you faced, Mario. The reason it's S-Class is that the spirit is a VERY strong one."

"Where's the phone now?" Lo Pho asked.

"I-I left it *cough* w-where I was *cough* a-a-attacked." Mario coughed as I started to rub his back lightly.

"Well, we need to get that phone and place it in a magic-free barrier so that 'thing' doesn't attack Atlantide anymore," Brandon muttered.

"I'll get it," I say, standing up.

Mario looked at me with fear in his eyes. "B-But-" I shut him up with a quick kiss.

"I'll be fine, Rocky." Then I left out the door before any of them could say anything.

Let's just say that I regret not listening to Mario...

~~~Time Skip to David's turn at fighting a giant goose~~~

(No one's POV)

The S-Class Ice Mage was struggling to hold his ground. He really underestimated the capabilities that could come from goose spirit. He's definitely lasted longer than Mario did, longer as in only 5mins until his first strike to the side.

"Argh!! I should've listened to Mario!" He yelled, slowly getting off the floor, just to be hit to the other side of the open space like a human baseball.

I just lay on the ground, coughing up a little blood, clutching my chest as it burns with pain.

'Maybe I should call the guild leaders... I need assistance...'

I shakingly reach into my pocket for the backup communication lacrima that the twins made us each carry around. I call for the guild leaders and wait for an answer.

"Hello?"

(Ritchie's POV)

Brandon was finishing up bandaging up Mario and just as Lo Pho was about to leave, my communication lacrima goes off.

I hastily grab it from my pocket and answer. "Hello?"

"R-Ritchie!! H-Help!! *cough*" My eyes widened. 'It's David...'

"David!! What's wrong?!" I asked a little panicked and the others listened in.

"T-The g-goose s-spirit is too s-strong!!! P-Please h-help!! AAAAAHHHH!!" We heard a scream from the other end of the phone, then the call was cut off.

Brandon and I looked at each other, immediately thinking the same thing...

'We need the other guild leaders...'

~~~Skip to meeting with leaders' meeting~~~

(Brandon's POV)

We got to the leader's meeting spot to see Michael, Silver and Bri already there, just chatting among themselves. I think Michael noticed us because he suddenly looks our way and motions us to come over.

"Ah, welcome, twins and Lo Pho. You are just in time to join in with our discussion of-"

"Sorry Love, but we don't exactly have time for any discussions." Ritchie cut Michael off, as we really don't have time for any dilly-dallying right now.

"Oh? Why's that?" The leader of the Protectors Guild, Bri, spoke up.

"Because there is a very dangerous creature terrorising Atlantide right now and it has already taken down two of Divinus Magia's guild members; Mario and David."

As I explain the threat, it made the others, excluding my brother and Lo Pho, go wide-eyed and shocked. Then, Michael hurried all 6 of us into the middle, before shadow-travelling to where David was.

Once we arrived, all we saw was a small cellphone on the ground and David in the corner, covered in dirt and bruises. Lo Pho rushes ahead of us as we all trail behind, running towards the injured ice mage.

"David! Are you alright?!" Lo Pho called, already casting a healing circle around the devil slayer.

"D-Do I *cough* look a-alright *cough* to you?" He joked weakly. I shake my head at his ignorance before gently seating him up against the wall behind him.

"Bad time to be joking, now where is the goose?" I asked sternly.

"Wait, a goose?! Brandon, and you said it was a bad time to be joking!" Michael asked, baffled and annoyed by my response but I ignored him and paid all my attention towards David.

"It's b-back i-in the *cough* phone..." He shakingly pointed towards the phone that was in the middle of this opening. Michael, Silver and Bri were absolutely confused at this point, but I just walked towards the phone. Once I was close enough to it, instead of simply picking it up because I know that's how the goose thing is released, I placed it in an air bubble and walked back over to the others.

"Alright. Ritchie, can you blink David back to the infirmary and then meet us over at the giant field that's near the docks? While the others and I take this over." I gesture to the bubble. My brother nods his head, picking the now unconscious David and blinking away. I nod for the others to follow me to the field I was talking about.

"Umm Brandon?" I hear Silver ask behind me. I just hummed in response.

"Why did you put the phone in the bubble? Couldn't we just, y'know, carry it?" He said, reaching towards the bubble. I immediately pull the bubble away from him, then proceed to glare at him while he puts his hands up in defence.

"Do NOT even think about touching or popping this bubble! If you touch the phone inside, then you'll unleash the goose inside!" I scolded.

Michael sighed. "Seriously, Brandon, a goose can't be that bad. Except for when it steals your sandwiches, which still isn't that bad." He shook his head while I rolled my eyes.

"You shouldn't underestimate something until you see what you're up against. Otherwise, you'll end up like David and Mario. Also, we are here!" We stopped in the middle of a very large opening so we weren't at risk of having unwanted casualties. I walk a little further, pop my bubble and let the phone fall on the floor, then scurry back to the others.

"Alright all we need now is my-"

"BOOO!!" I jump as Ritchie yelled right behind me.

"Seriously?! What did I say before about it being a 'no joking' situation?!" I scolded, whapping the back of his head.

"Sorry Brother, but it was too good of an opportunity! Now, let's fry this goose!" He rubbed the back of his head before looking towards the phone on the ground.

"Alright, who wants to press the on button?" I asked the others, surprising them a little.

"Huh? I guess I will." Silver walks up to the phone while the rest of us get ready, well... mostly Ritchie, Lo Pho and I were being defensive.

Michael and Bri had no idea what was about to happen...

(No one's POV)

The requip mage bent down and as he was about to turn the phone on, smoke began to emit from the screen as it began to crack.

Silver jumped and scurried back to the others, who were prepared to attack.

All of a sudden, the smoke turned into a large cloud and when it disappeared... The Goose emerges...

"What in the fudge nugget is that?!" Michael yelled, looking at the menacing rainbow goose that was standing before their eyes.

Unfortunately for Michael, this goose heard him and swung its hammer towards him. Michael, luckily, saw this and managed to hide in the shadows just before he was hit.

"Jeez, that thing is angry! How do we stop it?!" Bri yelled to the twins.

The brothers looked at each other, having a little twin conversation in their minds, before turning towards the monster. Both of them were in their demon forms now.

"Michael, encase it in shadows! Bri and Silver, do anything to make sure it doens't escape! Lo Pho, when we attack, attack it with your god slayer form too!" Brandon called out as everyone nodded and got into position.

Michael worked his magic and the goose was now emerged in shadows. The Ari couple were on either side of the scene in front, ready to attack if needed. Brandon and Ritchie were floating next to each other, preparing for the attack while Lo Pho transformed into his god slayer form aswell.

"Alright 3...
2...
1...
Now!!"

"Sacred Arts of the Sky: Twin Devil Slayer Mayhem!!" The twins yelled in sync, shooting the goose with a beam which was both purple and blue.

"Sacred Arts of Light: Force Radieant Beam!!" Lo Pho yelled, also shooting with his white and yellow beam.

Slowly but surely, the goose started to shrink, not without screaming and trying to hit the guild leaders. Fortunately, Michael's shadows protects them from these attacks, making the goose even more angry.

After a few minutes of this, the goose shrunk enough and was absorbed back into the phone, causing it to explode. All the guild leaders were relieved to see little particles floating from where the phone lay before.

"Phew! Thank god that's gone!" Ritchie huffed, turning back to his normal self while flopping onto the ground to rest.

"Yeah, you can say that again." Brandon mumbled, copying his brother as well as sitting on the floor.

"Okay, remind me never to underestimate a mission Brandon says..." Michael panted, walking over to Ritchie before sitting down and leaning his head on the devil slayer's shoulder. This made him blush and the others snicker.

"How about we get back home? Lo Pho, can you check up on Mario and David?"

"Sure. Hopefully David is actually resting."

"Well, I'll shadow-travel you back to Divinus Magia. I'll take Bri and Silver back to their guilds after."

They all stand up and Michael shadow-travels Ritchie, Brandon and Lo Pho back to the guildhall, where Lucas was once again reading a book upside down.

Brandon shook his head and smirked. "Now we can make it two times."

The water mage jumped and whipped his head towards the twins before letting out a sigh of relief. "Seriously?! Do you have to sneak up on me like that?!"

"Yep! Also, do you know where David is?" Ritchie snickered. Lucas pointed towards the infirmary. "In there."

"Thanks, book worm!" They walk over to the infirmary while Lucas let out an irritated sigh, before flipping his book around.

Lo Pho walked over to the beds but stopped when he saw what he saw.

"Lo Pho? What did you see?" Ritchie asked, both the twins getting a little curious now

"Awwww!! See for yourselves!" The cat squealed. The twins looked at each other, before shrugging and looking at whatever has the god slayer fangirling at.

"Awww, okay we should have expected this." Ritchie whispered.

The scene they saw was Mario in David's chest while David had his arms wrapped around him, both of the guildmates were asleep too.

"Alright, that's enough fangirling you two. C'mon, let's let them sleep." Brandon said, shooing both the other mages out the door reluctantely.

After the lightning devil slayer and the light god slayer were out the door, Brandon turned around to take a quick picture, then left.

That was probably the most eventful day of Divinus Magia...

And that's why... You never never trust geese!
