Trost District
A Few Hours After Breach

A few hours had passed since the breach of Wall Rose and rain began to pour over the district of Trost as Titans roamed the city in search of humans. You and the rest of the rear guard were busy dealing with the Titans that had wandered in towards the inner wall and both you and just cut down two Fifteen meter Titans before regrouping with Mikasa and Captain Dietrich of the Garrison.

"Nice work, you two. I'm impressed." Dietrich praised you and Mikasa on your Titan killing capabilities.

"Thank you, sir. However, I was in too much of a hurry. I ruined my blades in that one strike. Next time I'll be more careful." Mikasa critiqued her actions as you lifted your hood over your head to cover yourself from the rain.

"Me too." You said while popping your damaged blades out as you squinted your eyes due to the drops of water that would hit your face every so often. "This rain came out of no where though. Might mess with visibility." You said as you equipped a fresh pair of blades and Dietrich stared at the two of you with slight disbelief in your abilities.

"What happened to you two before all this?" Dietrich asked out of wonder as the two of you looked as if you would answer him, but he shook his head. "No, nevermind." Dietrich said before a soldier yelled across the rooftops.

"A Twelve meter class, spotted running from the East!" Someone yelled as you turned your sights in that direction.

"One spotted West, heading for the inner gate!" Another soldier yelled as Mikasa looked in the direction.

"Let's do this, Mikasa." You said as you stood up and wiped some water off from your face.

"Yeah." She said as the two of you left in haste and flew towards the Titans.

Dietrich watched in awe as the two of you raced towards the deadly monsters with no fear at all. You shot your anchor on the back of the Titan and looked ahead to see that you and Mikasa were getting closer and closer to each other, via the Titans both heading to the inner gate. Reeling your blades back, the two of you dashed towards your targets and cut clean and perfect through their napes without wasting your blades in one go. You shot your anchors into a tower and hanged off the side of it looking for any more Titans while Mikasa landed on top to regroup with you. Just then, the retreat bells sounded and you watched as the inner gate was being lowered and closed, signaling that everyone was to pull back.

"We're pulling back, Ackerman, L/N. We'll climb the wall." Dietrich said as you pushed your hood farther to cover your head as you and Mikasa turned away.

"We'll help the vanguard withdraw." Mikasa said as the two of you jumped off the tower and headed further into Trost.

"Hey, wait! Ackerman! L/N!" Dietrich tried calling out to stop you two, but the two of you pushed ahead to regroup with your friends as fast as you could.

As you and Mikasa travelled through Trost to find your friends, the Military's HQ had been taken over and the soldiers who were supposed to deliver fresh gas to those who were fighting, were either dead or trapped within HQ. Then outside, there were soldiers and your friends who were stuck on top of the rooftops of homes in despair as they didn't have enough gas to make it to HQ, even less to try and retake it. While everyone stood around scared and hopeless, the rain had decided to lift as they thought about the situation they were in.

"Hey, Jean! What should we do?" Jean heard as he looked up from where he sat and saw Connie standing frantically in front of him as he lowered his head back down in despair.

"There's nothing we can do...They finally issued the order to retreat, but without more gas, we can't climb the walls. So we're all going to die..." Jean said in a helpless tone while holding his hand to his head. "Because of those cowards." He said in a spiteful tone.

"The supply team...What happened to them?! We're they wiped out?" Connie asked in frustration.

"They're too terrified to move. I can see why...But abandoning their mission to resupply us, to hide in HQ? Unbelievable. And sure enough, the Titans have swarmed them so we can't go get more gas..." Jean said as he imagined the situation inside HQ.

"Then we must take a chance, and try to destroy the Titans around HQ! We won't be any worse off than sitting here...The Titans will be here before long! And if we keep running, we'll just waste the gas we have. Without the use of our Maneuver Gear, we really are done for!" Connie yelled in desperation while knocking on the tank of his gas as Jean stared carelessly at him.

"I'm surprised to see you using your head for once, Connie." Jeam said before turning to look at the soldiers around him. "But do you think we can do that, given our numbers here? Most of the veterans in the vanguard were killed. Which of us trainees could lead a suicide mission like that? Well, even if someone could, we can't fight the Titans. I bet the gas supply room is chock full of three to four meter class Titans. Obviously, we can't refuel with them around." Jean stated another probable fact as Connie couldn't believe what he was hearing and grew the same despaired look as everyone else.

"So we're doomed?" Connie asked in a heartbroken tone as Jean sighed heavily.

"What a stupid life...If I'd known this would happen, I would've told them." Jean said while putting his hand atop of his head as Sasha's voice could be heard from nearby trying to persuade everyone.

"Let's do it, guys! Come on, stand up...If we all work together, we'll be fine! I'll take the lead." Sasha said in a hopeful tone, but the looks on the cadet's faces didn't change at all, as they were too hopeless to even try as Sasha smiled nervously knowing the situation, but saw Armin nearby and grew a bit more optimistic. "Ah, Armin! Let's all..." Sasha stopped herself when she saw the broken face that was Armin's face as he sat all alone against a window and Sasha slouched her shoulders in defeat, slowly giving up on things while, meanwhile Annie, Reiner, Bertolt, and Marco were stood on the edge of the same building.

"Reiner, what should we do?" Annie asked as he and Bertolt turned towards her.

"Nothing yet. If we do it, we do it all together." Reiner answered her vague question as Marco spoke up.

"It's hopeless..." Marco said as he caught their attention. "There's no way we can make it out of this town alive." He said while looking toward the cloudy sky. "I knew I could die...But what am I dying for?" Marco asked as a commotion was stirring from the other cadets as everyone turned towards the ruckus.

"Mikasa? Y/N? I thought you were with the rearguard." Everyone turned to see you and Mikasa running across the rooftops and toward the center of all the survivors.

"Is everyone okay? Is everyone here?" You asked in worry as you slowed to a stop to look around while Mikasa continued towards Annie. "Is this...all that's left...?" You asked in shock of the numbers.

"Y/N! What are you doing here? I heard you were back with the rearguard." You turned around to see Sasha coming towards you as you met her halfway and placed your hands on her shoulders.

"Sasha, are you okay?" You asked as she was caught by surprise but gave you a reassuring smile.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I was just trying to get everyone together so we could try to get to HQ. I know it's a scary thing, but I'm sure that we can do it together. Now that you and Mikasa are here, too, that raises our chances as well. We might not have that much gas, but we can still try to get as far as we can before we think of our next move. I think that if we can just get into HQ..." You were surprised by how much she was rambling on, but in your heart you could feel the tension of the situation was also weighing down on her, and that she was just putting on a front.

"It's okay..." You said as you suddenly hugged her and she instantly fell silent as you held onto her. "It's okay to be afraid. I know you're brave, but you don't have to hide if you're afraid also..." You said as you her arms wrap around you as well as she buried her face into the crook of your neck.

"...Thank you." Was all she said as you heard a sniffle from her before you both pulled away and you watched her quickly wipe a tear away.

"Let me check on the others. After that, we can come up with something." You said to her as she nodded and you left her to head over to Mikasa as you heard her speak with Annie's team.

"Annie, I have a basic idea of what's happening. And I'm sorry to involve my personal feelings, but did you see Eren's team?" Mikasa asked as you stood behind her.

"I didn't see them, but no one's made it up the walls." Annie said as Reiner pointed toward a direction.

"Actually, Armin's over there." Reiner pointed as you and Mikasa turned to see Armin sat alone next to a window of the building you were on and you two quickly made your way towards him.

"Armin!" Mikasa called to him as you noticed him react from her voice.

"Armin, are you okay?" You asked as you and Mikasa ran towards him while he trembled where he was sat and the two of you knelt down next to him.

"Armin, are you hurt? Are you okay?" Mikasa asked as you placed a hand on his shoulder to check on him, but his head was hung so you couldn't clearly see his face, but he nodded to answer her question as she was a bit relieved and stood up to look around. "Where is Eren?" She asked as you heard Armin choke up from the question and felt him trembling. "Armin?" She asked as he shot his head up and the two of you were stunned when you saw the saddened face he wore as tears welled in his eyes.

"...No...no..." You repeated as you fell back on your rear end felt your heart racing faster than it ever did while Mikasa had a blank look in her eyes from seeing Armin's reaction. "You're kidding me...!" You clenched your teeth as you turned onto all fours and your fists grinded against the roof tiles as Armin spoke.

"The members of Trainee Corps team 34..." Armin choked up as he bowed his head and placed his hands on his knees while speaking through tears. "...Thomas Wagner, Nack Tias, Milius Zermusky, Mina Karolina...Eren Jaeger!" Was the final name his said as your eyes widened with shock and despair. "These five died valiantly in the line of duty!" Armin said as everyone who heard was in disbelief.

"No..." Sasha said as she couldn't believe what she heard and came to support you while you remained on your knees.

"Dammit all...DAMMIT!!!!!!" You yelled as you shot up to your feet and punched the stone wall behind Armin in rage and actually cracked it a bit as everyone was shocked. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" You yelled to the sky in rage as you dropped back to your knees and Sasha came to hold you from behind in a comforting manner while tears streamed down your face.

"Team 34 was almost wiped out, then?" One of the cadets asked in shock.

"If we try to face the Titans, the same will happen to us." Another said as more and more were giving up their will to fight.

"I'm sorry, Mikasa, Y/N...Eren...He sacrificed himself for me. I...I couldn't do anything! I'm sorry..." Armin was barely able to speak as you looked toward him with heavy breaths while Mikasa knelt down and placed her hand on top of his as he looked up in confusion.

"Armin." Mikasa spoke in an emotionless tone as he looked up at her and saw a face that held no emotion at all with eyes that were as almost dark as pure black. "Calm down. This isn't the time to get emotional." Mikasa said as Armin was confused.

"Eh?" Was all he could manage as Mikasa began to pull him to his feet as you wiped away your tears as well and stood up.

"Now, stand up." Mikasa said as she pulled him up and turned around to walk toward the other end of the building. "Marco, if we eliminate the Titans swarming HQ, then we can refuel and climb the walls. Isn't that right?" She asked as you and Mikasa were heading toward the edge as your eyes burned with rage and fury while Mikasa's had a cold gaze to them.

"That's right, but...But even with you two here, there are too many..." Marco trailed off as you turned back toward everyone.

"We'll do it." You said as they were stunned by your both you and Mikasa as the two of you drew your blades.

"Huh?" Marco asked in disbelief.

"We are strong! Stronger than you guys. Very strong. Therefore, we can defeat those Titans! Even if it's on our own." Mikasa said with her blade raised above her head as all the other cadets were jaw-dropped by her words. "You are not only weak, but you are spineless cowards." She said as Sasha and you made eye contact, but you broke away as she was taken aback from all both of your actions and Mikasa pointed her blade to everyone. "I am disappointed in you. Just stay here...Stay here and watch." She said as someone else finally spoke up.

"Hey, Mikasa! What are you saying?!" A female cadet asked.

"You two are going to fight those Titans by yourself?!" Another yelled.

"There's no way you can do that!" Another tried bringing you two back to reality, but there was no use.

"If we can't, we'll die. But if we win, we'll live. If we don't fight, we can't win." Mikasa said while turning away as the two of you readied yourselves to jump off.

"Let's go." You said with a hateful tone in your throat as the two of you flew off at full speeds, leaving the others.

"Wait!" Someone tried calling out, but you two gave no mind and left as everyone was stunned by the insulting speech she just gave.

"What's disappointing here is your vocabulary...Was that supposed to be an inspirational speech?" Jean said as he grinded his teeth together before pulling out his blades and making a rash decision. "This is your fault, Eren!" He said through his teeth before yelling to everyone. "Hey! Were we trained to let our fellow soldiers fight alone!? Do you really want to become cowards?!" He yelled before running off to chase after you two with Connie following close behind him.

"I wouldn't want that." Reiner said as he and Annie turned to follow them as Armin wiped his tears away and went to follow their lead.

"Ahhh..." Marco sighed while covering half his face with one hand as he and Bertolt joined Reiner and Annie as they all left.

"Come on, coward...Wimp...Idiot!" Sasha insulted a few cadets before taking off as everyone else was contemplating what to do, before someone finally spoke what was on everyone's mind.

"Those guys..." A cadet thought before finally giving in. "Damn it...I'll do it!" He said. "RRAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!" Everyone yelled as they raised their blades into the air and jumped rooftop to rooftop and raced to get to HQ before their gas completely ran out.

Meanwhile, at the head of the group, you and Mikasa were pushing speeds that no soldier could even imagine of hitting as the two of you cut down two Titans that stood idly without even noticing you all. As you two lead the pack, Jean called the shots to everyone who followed behind him.

"Hurry! Follow Y/N and Mikasa! We do this fast. We need to storm HQ before our gas runs out!" Jean yelled as Connie followed behind him, but couldn't take his eyes off of Mikasa and you.

"They're amazing, though...How does they move so fast?" Connie said in disbelief as he watched you two fly faster than anyone ever had.

"No, they're using too much gas! They're gonna run out of it fast! No matter how good you are, without the Maneuver Gear, you're helpless!" Armin thought as you held out your hand to Mikasa and she lunged toward you and grabbed your arm.

In swift motions and without even communicating, you threw Mikasa toward a Titan which she cut cleanly through before you two zoomed on forward as the Titan barely had time to even fall. You flew high up in the air before coming down on an unaware Titan and killing it before returning to the head of the group. Just then however, you heard a strange noise and turned to see Mikasa had run out of gas and fell, hitting a roof before crashing down into a street below.

"Mikasa!" Armin yelled as he chased after her.

"Dammit!" You were about to leave, but Jean stopped you.

"Wait, Y/N! They need you for this charge! I'll go!" He yelled as you glared at him.

"Out of my way!" You yelled, but Connie chimed in.

"Hold on, Y/N! Jean's right! Follow his lead on this one, but Jean, you take over!" Connie yelled as Jean was confused.

"I'll go after Armin!" Connie yelled as he turned to leave in Armin's direction.

"I will, too!" Jean said, but Connie refused.

"What are you doing? The Titans are still out there! We need yours and Y/N's skills!" Connie yelled as the two of you sucked it up and continued ahead.

"Don't die, Connie! Save them and yourself! If you die, I'll kill you!" You yelled at him before racing off ahead and heard your motor sputtering, signaling you were low on gas as well. "Tch, I'm not too well off either, huh? Fuck!" You yelled in frustration while calling out to everyone. "Everyone, hold!" You yelled as you landed on top of one of the buildings as everyone else tried to find a landing spot and Jean stopped next to you as he stared at the great distance you all still had to travel.

"It's hopeless...We can't even get close to HQ. Not unless we're willing to risk casualties." Jean thought before you two heard the sound of panic and looked down to see a fellow cadet was stuck on the ground out of gas as he desperately tried to climb the building in front of him. "Damn! He's out of gas!" Jean thought before gasping as a few Titans headed towards him.

"Stay back!" The cadet yelled in terror.

"Run! Run, dammit!" You yelled as you threw one of your broken blades at one of the Titans to try and get its attention. "Over here! Look here you piece of shit!" You yelled as you drew fresh blades and were about to jump down, but you hesitated as you remembered your gas situation.

"Tom, I'm coming for you!" A cadet yelled while flying down.

"Let him go!" A female cadet cried out while trying to save him as well.

"Don't...It's too late!" Jean tried to stop them, but it was no use as the Titan already had Tom in its hands.

"Don't--!" The male cadet that went to save Tom choked as he was suddenly grabbed out of the air by another Titan.

"CUT THE HANDS! CUT THEM OFF!!!!" You yelled in despair as Tom cried as the Titan's mouth opened.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH--!" Tom's cry was silence when the Titan mercilessly bit down on the upper half of his body.

"DAMMIT!!!!!!!! DAMMIT IT ALL!!!!!!!" You cried out in rage as Jean stood still in fear and shock, and most of all, disbelief in himself.

"Why couldn't I stop them?" Jean thought as he watched Tom's lower body twitch in the Titan's mouth. "Why didn't I stop them? If I had forced them to stop, this wouldn't have happened..." Jean trembled as he watched the female cadet slowly get pulled apart by her arms. "Do I have the right to hold a position of responsibility?" Jean thought in despair as Reiner and other cadets had to hold you back from trying to save them.

"No! Please, no! Stop! AhhhhHH! No! I don't want to die!" The female cadet's cries echoed as everyone watched in horror as they were devoured alive.

"LET ME GO! I HAVE TO SAVE THEM!" You tried to escape Reiner's grip.

"It's too late! I'm sorry!" Reiner yelled as he leaned back to get a better hold of you. "Don't risk your life for those who are already gone! The living need you, too!" Reiner tried reasoning with you as you yelled before elbowing him as he let go and you punched a hole in the roof, injuring your hand as blood came out a few cuts.

"...Why...? Why the hell do they have to do this to us...? Forgive me...!" You spoke through your clenched teeth as Reiner wiped some blood from his nose and placed a hand on your back to try and comfort you.

"No." Jean thought as he came to a realization. "I have it wrong. This is the time. Now, with all those Titans concentrated there. This is our chance!" Jean realized as he turned to everyone while you and Reiner stood up. "Now!" He yelled as he caught all of your attention. "We run into HQ right now!" He yelled while jumping down to a roof below and running across the rooftops.

You were surprised by Jean's sudden leadership role as you watched Marco and Sasha follow after him. Reiner tapped your shoulder before taking off and Bertolt followed while Annie fixed her hair before running off, and you scoffed while doing the same.

"It's our only chance...Once we're out of gas, it's over." Jean thought before steeling his resolve. "Full speed ahead!" He yelled as you all jumped over the rooftop one after another before having to go back to using the ODM gear as you led the charge, but tried your best not to consume all your gas.

"Follow close behind me! Don't waste your gas on trying to attack, just get to HQ! Avoid the Titans at all costs!" You yelled you and Jean lead the pack.

All of you carefully spread yourselves out to avoid being caught by the Titans as the first three of you slipped by unharmed. As Jean tried to stick close to you, his leg was caught by a Titan that he didn't notice was close by, and reacted in time to cut himself free from its hold. After making it through that first hurdle, you lead the group back on to the rooftops to try and reserve gas for the last last to HQ. As Jean trailed behind you, Marco popped out of no where from his left side.

"Jean!" Marco called out to him and caught his attention as they continued to sprint. "Thank you. Thanks to you, we made it out safely. It's thanks to you. I told you you're cut out for leadership!" Marco said as Jean chuckled before following ahead.

"I don't know about that!" Jean said as he watched you leap off and and dodge three Titans. "Hyyaa!" He yelled as he jumped off and narrowly dodged being grabbed the first Titan and slipped pass the other two.

"Ahhhhh!!" You heard as you turned to see one of the cadets didn't make it and was caught by a Titan.

"Fuck!" You groaned in anger before turning ahead. "RRRAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!" You screamed as you aimed your feet towards the high floored windows and your gas ran out as you flew and crashed into base, rolling on the ground and crashing against the wall. "Agh! Shit!" You yelled as you had hit your arm against the edge of a bookshelf that was next to you and Jean crashed inside and landed next to you.

"Where's everyone else?" Jean looked frantically as he watched one after another of your allies crash through the windows and make inside safely. "How many made it?" Jean wondered before growing a shocked and burdened look as he put one hand to his face. "I took advantage of our comrade's deaths. Many died at my command..." Jean trembled before noticing something to his left as you got up and went towards him.

"Agh, Jean, are you okay?" You asked while holding your arm before looking where his eyes were directed and you saw two cadets hiding under a desk, a boy and girl, and the girl was covered in some blood.

"Aren't you guys with the supply team?" Jean asked while turning towards them.

"Yeah..." The male cadet answered before Jean suddenly grabbed him and brought him out before punching him across the face, knocking him to the ground.

"Stop it, Jean!" Marco ran over to hold Jean back as you tended to the soldier who was knocked down, with girl coming out to help him as well.

"They're the one's who abandoned us! Because of you, more died than was necessary!" Jean yelled in a rage he hadn't let out before.

"Titans came into the supply area...We couldn't do anything!" The girl cried out.

"Doing something is your job!" Jean screamed out them.

"This isn't the time to be fighting! Just shut the fuck up and let's work together to get out of this shithole!" You yelled at them all as a strange noise was getting louder and louder as Reiner heard it and yelled out.

"Get down!" Reiner yelled as you were all confused by what he meant.

You all were frantically looking around to see what was happening, and in an instant, there was an huge crash that sent you all flying through the room and debris flew everywhere. You were sent flying in the air and were about to crash into a desk, but Sasha came out of no where and managed to grab you as the two of you rolled across the ground. You groaned from the dizziness of sudden crash and some debris caused a cut to form on the side of your head as blood trickled down your face.

"Are you okay, Y/N?" Sasha asked in worry as you held your head.

"I'll be fine..." You groaned while wiping blood away from your eye. "What was that...?" You asked as you looked over to where the crash happened and went wide-eyed when you saw two faces of Titans' staring at you all through a hole.

"Damn it! Too many people are in one place!" Jean said in worry as you struggled to stand up due to the head injury you sustained.

"Reiner! Take everyone deeper inside! Now! Before they topple this tower down on us!" You yelled as everyone began panic and Reiner burst open the door to head deeper into HQ.

"Hurry, get inside!" Reiner yelled as people pushed and shoved pass him to get away.

"We can't all fit!" A cadet yelled as he was being squished against others inside the door.

"Where's Mikasa?!" Someone yelled in desperation.

"She must've ran out of gas and got eaten long ago!" Someone answered him.

"Where's Y/N!?" Another person yelled.

"He's hurt and out of gas! He can't fight them now! We're screwed!" Someone said before more people rushed through the door and Sasha supported you with your arm wrapped over her shoulder.

"Let's go, Y/N." Sasha said as you two made your way toward the door, but you stopped when you saw Jean was frozen in fear staring at the Titans.

"Jean...!" You called out to him, but he was too afraid to hear anything.

"This is normal. This is reality...Was my hope just an impossible dream?" Jean thought as despair once again filled his heart and he was slowly giving up. "I should've known...that this is reality. It should've been a simple enough realization...that we could never beat something so huge." He thought as he stared at the Titans in front of him while behind you were trying to running to try and reach him and pull him away.

As the two of you faced the hole where two Titans were staring right back at you all, something strange happened that suddenly changed everything. The entire world seemed so slow in your eyes as you watched a giant fist suddenly appear and push itself against the face of one of the Titans. You and Jean were jaw-dropped by what you were seeing, before finally Jean snapped to his senses.

"What!?!" Jean yelled before a loud bang followed suit as the two Titans were suddenly punched off the tower by another Fifteen Meter Titan that roared at the Titans that were nearby. "Wh-What is that?" Jean thought as he couldn't fathom the unusual spectacle that unfolded in front of him.

The Titan that had just appeared seemed a lot more different from the others. The ears it had were strangely pointed and its entire set of teeth was visible from the outside of its flesh. This Titan was also extremely more physically built than the other Titans that have come before. Strangely enough, the Titan also paid no mind to you or Jean who were right near the hole where it could easily see or smell you.

"Jean, are you okay? Let's get back." You and Sasha pulled him away from the hole as he couldn't take his eyes off the strange Titan that just saved his life.

Just then there was a crash of glass in front of Jean that caught all of your attention and you saw that it was Mikasa who came in, while Connie carried Armin and followed her inside.

"Mikasa?" Jean said in shock as you couldn't believe the entrance your friends just made.

"That was close...I'm all out. But we did it! We just barely made it!" Connie said while knocking on the empty tanks of his gear as you rushed over and knelt down in front of Mikasa.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" You asked as you frantically examined her, and when you saw she seemed fine, you instantly hugged her. "I'm so glad you're okay..." You said as she smiled and hugged you back before you went to check on Armin and Connie. "You guys alright?" You asked as they gave you nods and you smiled as you shook them by the shoulder. "Thank you, Connie. I knew I could rely on you." You said as you helped them all up and Jean came forward in shock.

"Y-You're alive!" Jean said in disbelief.

"You did it, Armin! Your plan worked!" Connie patted Armin on the back aggressively before speak up to everyone. "Everyone! That Titans is an Abnormal that kills other Titans! And it isn't interested in us..." Connie said as he pointed to the strange Titan outside. "If we can use it, we can escape!" He proposed a crazy plan that no one could even comprehend.

"Use the Titan?" Someone said in disbelief.

"A Titan helping us? That sounds like a dream--!" Jean was cut off when Mikasa made herself known in this plan.

"It isn't a dream." Mikasa said as everyone now turned to her. "I don't care if it's abnormal or what...We need it to stay here, and to keep fighting." She said as the strange Titan punched another one of its prey away before roaring out loud and drawing in more Titans. "That is our most realistic chance for survival." She said as Reiner suddenly reappeared from the door.

"Hey, we've managed to get to the lift that'll take us down to the supply room. We're all waiting for you there." He said as Jean shook his head about the situation and spoke up.

"Anyways, let's all head down and find a way to refuel. That's our first priority." Jean said as everyone began to leave the room you were all in and you made your way down through HQ to the lift.

After making it down to the floor where the lift and some supply rooms were, you all regrouped and managed to get a floor layout of the supply room to plan out how to deal with the Titans that made it inside. You were sat next to the map with Reiner as Annie suddenly appeared next to you with a white cloth.

"We should bandage the wound on your head." Was all she said as you looked up and smiled at her.

"Yeah, thanks." You said as she knelt down next to you and firmly wrapped the cloth around your head as you could the roars of the strange Titan even from underground.

"D-Don't worry. It's stronger than an average Titan. As long as it's out there raising hell, they won't destroy this building!" Connie said in reassurance.

"How much do you know about that Titan?" Reiner asked as Annie finished dressing your wound and sat next to you while you looked at the layout of the supply room.

"We can worry about that once we get out." Connie said perplexed by the strange curiosity of Reiner.

"You're right. We'll get out of here first." Reiner said before Jean's voice suddenly called out to everyone in the room as he came back with a few others carrying boxes and rifles.

"We found it! This is Military Police stuff...It was covered in dust." Jean said as scatter shot rifles were handed out to cadets for the plan.

"Are scatter shots really enough? Will these rifles actually be of any use against the Titans?" Jean asked while examining one of the rifles as everyone was a bit nervous of the effectiveness of these weapons, but you broke the silence.

"Well, as fate would have it, we've been dealt shit cards this entire time. We just gotta make them work." You said before turning to Armin. "Armin, what's our move?" You asked him as everyone gathered around to listen.

"If there are still only seven Three to Four meter class Titans in the supply room, even this may be enough firepower to blind them all at once. First, we'll use the lift to lower a large number of people through the central ceiling. They'll fire in the faces of the seven Titans in unison to blind them." Armin said while circling the central ceiling area where this will take place. "And then, the next instant will be critical. The seven of us among the ceiling beams will strike the blinded Titans in a coordinated ambush. In other words, this plan, all of our lives will depend on this one strike. The seven must kill seven Titans at the same time, with a single strike." He said as the sever were chosen to be You, Mikasa, Annie, Sasha, Jean, Reiner, and Connie. "The seven will be those of us whose skills gives us the best chance, but...I'm sorry to make them bear the weight of everyone's lives..." Armin apologized as Reiner was the first to speak.

"It's all right." Reiner forgave Armin.

"Regardless of who goes, everyone dies if we fail. The risk is the same." Annie stated the facts of the consequences.

"But is the plan I conceived...really the best one?" Armin was doubting himself as Marco chimed in.

"It's our only option...There's no time, and this is the best plan we'll have. We just have to give all we've got!" Marco said enthusiastically.

"It's fine. Have confidence in yourself. You have the ability to find the solution." Mikasa said as Armin seemed confused by this. "That ability saved Eren, Y/N, and me." She said as you nodded in agreement.

"When was this?" Armin asked as he couldn't recall doing anything to help you three as the lift door opened and everyone began to pile in.

"The lift's ready! The guns, too! They're all loaded!" A soldier announced as everyone began to move out.

"You just don't realize it. We'll talk later." Mikasa said before leaving as Armin nodded in agreement.

"Jean, you ride in the lift. Leave the cutting to me." You said as you handed a rifle over to him while he gave you a set of fresh blades.

"Heh, no problem. My aim was way better than yours back in training anyway." Jean said as you smirked and bumped his shoulder going pass him as the two of you chuckled and set off for your positions. "All right, let's do this!" Jean yelled as he and the rest of the cadets piled into the lift while you Titan killers made your way down a stairway maintenance stairway that lead to the overhand of the resupply depot.

"But can we kill Titans without Maneuver Gear?" Connie asked in wonder while traveling down the stairs.

"Sure, we can. They're three to four meter class Titans. The target will be easy to hit." Reiner said with confidence.

"Yeah, doesn't matter how big they are. The target on the back of their neck is always the same." You said as Sasha chimed in.

"One meter long, ten centimeters wide!" Sasha reminded everyone as Reiner held his blade up.

"Or we can shove this up their ass. These are their only two weak spots." Reiner said a completely out of the blue fact.

"I didn't know about that! We can do that?" Connie asked in disbelief.

"I'm just finding out now, too." Sasha was also surprised by this fact.

"If this ends up with you biting the dust, Reiner, we're all gonna remember those as your last words. What a thing to say in the face of death." You said as everyone chuckled from the slight humor before making it to the end of the staircase. "All right, move like the shadows and get to position." You said as you opened the door slowly and peeked your head inside to make sure no Titans were right next to you.

After making sure your side was clear, you opened the door quietly the rest of the way that led to a metal scaffolding that was connected to the steel beams of the depot. The other six quietly went out the door one after the other and climbed over the rail to sneakily crawl on the beams. You made virtually no noise as you hopped your the railing and got into position, hunched down and propped up by your toes and hands, with your blades crossed and ready for the attack. Below you there were the seven Titans that were just roaming about, having not noticed any of you above on the beams. The sound of chains moving signaled that the lift was coming down just on time, and everyone reappeared in the lift before coming to a stop in the center of the depot. Everyone in the lift took aim with their rifles as the Titans noticed them and began to move their way. Just then, a Titan that was crossing in front of Jean, Marco, and Armin stopped before scarily turning towards them with its horrifying smile as one of the cadets shrieked and almost panicked.

"Keep calm! Draw them in!" Jean said as he wore a nervous face as well.

"C'mon...c'mon..." You held your breath nervously as the Titans closed in slowly towards the bait, step by step.

"Wait." Marco said as his heart was beating the fastest its ever gone.

"Avoid fighting from a disadvantage." Reiner thought as he was beginning to run a cold-sweat.

"If you don't want people to die..." Connie thought as he was as still as a statue, waiting to attack.

"Finish them all with this single strike!" You thought as you gripped onto your blades tighter and watched the Titans close in.

"Wait..." Marco thought as the Titan's face was getting very close now. "Ready..." He breathed out as everyone in the lift put their fingers on the triggers and in one last step, the Titan's eyes were right at the barrels of their guns.

"FIRE!!!!!!" Jean yelled as everyone pulled their triggers and gun shots rang through the depot as the Titan's all had their vision taken out.

"NOW!" You thought as the seven of you from above sprinted across the beams and leaped off, going for this single chance to attack.

In one slash, you managed to cut the nape of your Titan clean off and rolled on the ground to one knee as your target fell. Looking around, you saw Reiner and Annie got their targets, along with Bertolt and Mikasa. However, when you saw Sasha and Connie strike, their attacks had missed and Connie landed on his back while Sasha awkwardly landed on her feet. The Titans they were supposed to kill had already healed back their vision as they turned and looked down at the two of them.

"U-Um...So sorry to attack..." Sasha backed away in fear. "...from behind..." She said as tears began to stream down her face.

"Shit...!" Connie trembled as he crawled back.

"Sasha and Connie!" Bertolt called out who was in trouble.

"Hurry and help them!" Jean yelled as you broke into a sprint while Mikasa and Annie also broke off to get into position.

"I'm..." Sasha yelled as the Titan dove towards her, but you managed to tackle her away from its path. "SO SORRY!!!!" She cried out as the two of you rolled across the ground and you covered her from the Titan.

As you protected Sasha, she looked back and saw Mikasa dive from above the Titan and cut its nape, meanwhile Annie managed to swoop in and save Connie from the Titan that was in front of him. You stood up and turned to see if any of the Titans were still alive, but to your relief, none of them were.

"Y/N! Mikasa! You saved me"! Sasha crawled over to the two of you on her knees with tears streaming down her face as she held onto the both of your jackets.

"Are you injured?" Mikasa asked.

"No, thanks to you..." Sasha said in a frightened tone as you pulled away and made her face plant the floor.

"Then stand." Mikasa said as she walked away also and you came over to Connie.

"Sorry I couldn't grab you either, Connie. Sasha was the closest to me." You apologized as he shook his head.

"No, it's okay." Connie said as he turned to Annie. "Sorry..." He apologized for making her have to rescue him.

"It was nothing." Annie paid it no mind as she turned away while Bertolt and Reiner came to her side.

"Hey, now...That was close, Annie. I'm really glad you weren't hurt." Reiner said with relief as she just ignored him and walked away, but you stopped her by her shoulder.

"You sure you okay?" You asked as she just brushed your hand away.

"I'm fine." She said in a low tone as just let her go before turning your head up to everyone in the lift and giving the thumbs up.

"We got them! Come down and start refueling!" You gave the good news as everyone had looks of joy on their faces, and Marco almost passed out from the stress as Jean and Armin caught him.

After lowering the lift the rest of the way, you all began to refill your tanks with the gas you needed in order to climb the walls. As you refilled by yourself, you could hear some of your friends rejoicing the strange Titan that was occupying the rest of them, and Sasha crying about how shameful she was about giving up in front of the Titan as Connie rushed her to stop messing around and fill up her tanks. After reading the pressure gauge and hearing your gas tank top off, you completely refueled and your motor on your gear spurred back to life as you went to check on everyone else. As you were about to round one of the pillars in the room, you heard Jean and Marco's voices and their conversation grabbed your attention as you stopped short behind the pillar.

"I don't think I'm cut out to be a leader..." Jean said as Marco looked over at him. "Don't say things like that again." Jean said as he crossed his right leg over the other while filling his tank.

"I hope you won't get mad when I say this..." Marco started as he swapped his filled tank with his other empty one and began to fill again. "...But you aren't a strong person. So you can relate to how the weak feel. In addition, you excel in sizing up any situation. Isn't that why you immediately know what should be done?" Marco said as Jean was surprised by what he was hearing as Marco turned to look at him as well. "You gave the right orders. That's why I could jump, and it's why I'm alive." He said as Jean was absolutely jaw-dropped from what Marco just said and you let out a quiet chuckle before clapping your hands and walking to the center of the depot for everyone to hear.

"All right! Now that we're all gassed up, let's get the hell out of here, soldiers! Come on!" You announced as everyone began to follow you to the large door that led outside and you kicked it open. "Go! Scale the wall and rendezvous with the rest of the Military!" You yelled as you watched everyone fly into the air and race towards the tops of the wall.

After making sure everyone got out, you walked out to the yard with Armin, but stopped when you both saw Mikasa standing on top of the roof. Reiner and Bertolt were stood nearby wondering what she was doing as well, while you and Armin zipped up to the top to check on her.

"Mikasa..." Armin called as he landed next to her. "We have to run." He said, but her gaze was stuck on something else.

"That Titan..." Mikasa muttered as you were both confused and turned to where she was looking, only to see with shocked faces that the Abnormal Titan was being devoured alive against a building.

"Cannibalism?" Armin said in shock of what you were all witnessing as the Abnormal seemed to roar in pain. "Can it no regenerate its body?" He questioned as you couldn't believe what was happening.

"I thought that if we could solve the mystery of that Titan, it may give us a way to overcome our bleak predicament..." Mikasa told her thoughts of the situation when someone chimed in on the matter.

"I agree." You heard and turned around to see Reiner standing a few feet away with Bertolt, Annie, and Jean. "If it gets eaten, we won't learn anything. Let's try to keep it alive by killing the ones clinging to it." Reiner said as you stunned by his suggestion.

"Are you insane, Reiner?! We can finally get out of here!" Jean argued as Annie came into the situation.

"What if it might be able to help us? Might it not prove a greater weapon than any cannon?" Annie said as Jean couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Help us? Are you serious?" Jean repeated what she said to make sure he was hearing the right thing before Armin suddenly spoke up.

"Ah! That's the..." You turned around to see a Titan walking around nearby where the Strange Titan was being devoured. "...The Abnormal that ate Thomas..." Armin said as when you heard this, you grew angered and drew your blades to kill it, but something strange happened.

Before you could go in for the attack on the Titan that killed Thomas, you heard a roar come from the Strange Titan as it forced itself forward and ran at the other Titan. In the process of breaking away, it lost both of its arms to the small fry that were chewing at them, and bit down on the nape of the Titan it wanted to kill. You were all shocked as you watched it lift the Titan in the air with nothing but its mouth as its exposed ribcage snapped and broke inside. From the corner of its eye, the Titan spotted an enemy titan getting up towards it and roared as it used the prey in its mouth to crush the Titan into the ground before swiping another Fifteen meter class away and sending it into a building.

"Come on..." Jean started as you watched the Titan let go of its dead prey and let out another trembling roar. "...It doesn't need our help." He said as you watched the Titan suddenly drop to its knees and seemingly succumb to its wounds. "I guess it's finally exhausted itself...That's enough...We're leaving." He said while turning away. "That thing couldn't possibly help us...A Titan is still a Titan." He cursed under his breath before noticing you all were still not going anywhere.

Looking down at the Strange Titan, you all noticed a lot of steam coming from the nape of its body and something seemed strange. Looking closer, you saw that the nape had suddenly opened and something was moving inside of it. Your eyes widened when you saw what had come out, but instead of something, it was someone...

"...Eren...?" You muttered in absolute disbelief as Mikasa's eyes widened from what she was seeing before she jumped off the building.

"Mikasa!" Armin yelled for her, but to no avail as she just continued to run towards what looked to be Eren.

She ran as fast as she could and climbed the Titan as she instantly wrapped her arms around him and he was limp in her arms. She stood there with him for a few moments before going to check his heartbeat. Sure enough, she could hear the beating noise of his heart as tears streamed from her eyes and she cried out when she realized that he was alive while the rest of you rushed down to help. After getting Eren and everyone else on top of HQ's tower, you were all stood to the side in disbelief of seeing Eren who had emerged from the Titan while Mikasa sobbed and held him close to her.

"It's Eren..." Armin thought as he remembered Eren losing his arm and leg to save him. "He's regained the limbs he'd lost...I saw a Titan swallow Eren whole. I saw..." Armin thought as he knelt down and took the hand he saw was regrown and held it in his hands as he cried. "What happened?" Armin said in disbelief and worry, while the rest of you to the side noticed Jean turn around and look down at the carnage below.

"Does this mean...that Eren did all this?" Jean questioned as you all looked at the deceased Titans below in shock after finding out that it was Eren protecting you all as you dropped down to your knees.

"...Eren..." You thought as you stared at him as he remained unconscious and remembered all the things he did as a Titan. "What happened to you...?" Was all that bounced around in your head as this day would forever be engraved into your mind as the most darkest in your life, and the day your friend died and came back as a Titan.
