Wall Maria, Shiganshina
Year 845

Humanity is on the verge of absolute extinction, and the only thing that stops the human race from being snuffed out is the three walls they hide behind. The threat to the human race is a frightening one at that, giant humanoid creatures that span between 3 to 15 meters in height, and the only thing they can do is try to get inside where the humans are so they can devour them like little snacks endlessly feeding off them, they are the Titans. However, for over a hundred years the Titans have had a hard time getting anything to eat due to the giant walls that stand about 50 meters tall surrounding humanity and its civilization. There are three walls that shield humanity from the Titans. Wall Maria, the outermost wall that houses the lower class citizens. Wall Rose, where the middle class thrive off each other and most businesses are located. Then finally Wall Sina, where the upper class of humanity live posh lives and feed off the middle and lower classes while looking down at them with no worry for their lives. During these hundred years humanity had found itself at peace and thriving as best they could within the walls, though they did try and expand their territories outside the walls with expeditions that were carried out by the Survey Corps, though each time they came back with little to nothing accomplished, and a lot of lives lost to the Titans. However, this would not deter the scouts or anyone who wished to further venture outside of the walls to see what lands they could discover. Now, the sun has begun to rise and shine its light over the walls as blue skies and white puffy clouds were all that floated in the air above. As daylight began to shine on humanity, its light shined into the windows of the houses in Shiganshina, waking everyone up and indicating the start of a new day. In one house particular, there laid in bed was a young boy with black hair and fair skin, slept soundly in bed as the door to the room opened slowly. The sound of footsteps could be heard crossing the small room before someone sat next to the boy in bed and a hand began to gently move the boy around.

"Hey, Y/N, it's morning. Wake up my dearest." A sweet feminine voice spoke gently as the you could be heard groaning and pulling the sheets on you.

"Five more minutes..." You muttered in exhaustion as you rolled around in your bed. "...five more...days...mom..." You said while falling back asleep as your mother laughed.

"In five days your father and sister might head off on another expedition again." Your mother said as she turned you over and pulled the sheets down as you slowly opened your eyes.

As your blurry vision began to clear up, there sat in front of you was your mother. She had dark brown hair that was tied up in a bun that was hidden under a piece of cloth tied in her hair. She wore a light blue shirt and had a long velvet skirt that reached to her ankles where she wore white socks and black shoes. She smiled as she reached for your face and pulled your cheek a little as you groaned groggily.

"Oush..." You said in a slurred tone as giggled.

"Come, let's have breakfast before we head off for shopping."  She said before pulling the sheets off of you.

Hopping out of bed, you yawned while walking over to your closet where you grabbed a pair of black pants and a green long-sleeved shirt to change into as your mother left you to clean up. After changing into your regular clothes you walked out of your room and into the hallway where you turned right and made way for the stairs to the first floor. It was a few steps before you began to climb down the stairs where you looked to see the first floor. Your home was small with the kitchen and living area being the same room all at once with the dinner table for four in the middle. You looked to see your mother washing a pan as you walked over while rubbing your eye and grabbing your tooth brush from a cup as you began to brush your teeth.

"When we go out, remind me to buy some extra vegetables for the stew I'm making for supper." Your mother said as she put the pan away to dry.

"Yeah..." You said as you took a cup and gargled water a bit before spitting into the sink.

Once you were all cleaned up, the two of you sat down for breakfast and ate in silence as you were too tired to say anything. The two of you were eating sautéed meat that was covered in a dark sauce with some cut up vegetables and rice. After finishing up breakfast, you helped your mother hang up some laundry to dry on an old stone  structure where a neighbor of yours hung their clothes as well. As you followed your mom with a basket of clothing, you climbed the stairs of the stone structure before reaching the top of the stairs where you saw your neighbor and her kids drying clothes as well.

"Ah, good morning, Carla." Your mother said in a cheerful tone as you looked by your mother and saw Carla Jaeger.

"Good morning, Natalia." Carla said as she turned and waved at your mother with a smile. "Ah, good morning, Y/N." She greeted you as well.

"Good morning..." You said tiredly before yawning as you set down the basket and handed a shirt over to your mother.

"How are you doing? How're Eren and Mikasa?" Your mother asked while hanging a shirt on a line next to Carla.

"They're fine. I sent them to get firewood this morning so they should be back anytime soon. 

"Ah, I just remembered that we're running short on wood as well. I hope you don't mind if we could...?" Your mother trailed off in a slightly embarrassed tone.

"I understand already. I'll send some your way before supper." Carla said as your mother sighed in relief.

"Thank you, Carla." Your mother said thankfully when suddenly bells began to ring in the distance and this noise instantly got you in high hopes.

"Mom...!" You turned to her with pleading look as she just nodded.

"Yeah, go." She said as you ran off and she looked out towards the distance where the outer gate of the district was as Carla placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sure they made it back." Carla said as your mother just reached for Carla's hand and held it as she nodded in response.

You were running through the streets of Shiganshina as people were all making their way to the main road where the Survey Corps was routed to head back to base. It took you about five minutes to make to the main road from where you lived before you found the large crowd of people waiting to see the Scouts. You stopped behind the crowd and looked left and right to see where a good spot to view was, and as you turned left you spotted the two kids you grew up with standing on boxes to see the Scouts, Eren and Mikasa.

"Ah! Eren! Mikasa!" You ran over to them and waved as they turned towards you and Eren smiled when he saw you.

"Y/N! Over here! Hurry!" Eren waved you over excitedly as you hopped onto the box Eren was standing on.

"Hey." You looked pass Eren and waved at Mikasa as glanced at you and nodded her head as a greeting back. "Ouch." You said as you looked to see a stick poke you from the pack of fire wood that Eren had on his back.

"Sorry, sorry." He scooted over a bit. "Hey, your Dad and sister are both coming home today. I wonder if they'll be in the front with the commander." He said in wonder as the sound of horse hooves trotting along the road could be heard and you both looked in awe seeing the scouts return.

Looking out across the scouts, there was a blonde man that was riding his horse with his head hung low and a saddened look on his face, but when he glanced over to Eren who was ecstatic to see the scouts; he had a shocked look appear on his face before he turned away as if he were disappointed. Eren and you were confused by this, but when you looked farther back, the looks on your faces changed when you saw what was being dragged along behind those in front. Behind the current commander of the Survey Corps, there was a long line of greatly wounded soldiers with injuries that spread from broken bones and sprains, to being wrapped in so many bandages that they looked like mummies, to the horrified and forever mentally changed faces on some of them.

"These are all that made it back?" A man said in front of you.

"Everyone else must've been eaten. That's what happens when you go outside the walls." Another man replied to the first person who spoke before a voice began to speak out.

"Moses! Moses!" You all looked ahead to see an older looking woman step out from the crowd. "Um, my son, Moses...I don't see him. Where is he?" She asked the commander as she gripped the cloth of his blood-stained green hood.

"This is Moses's mother. Bring it." The commander said to the soldier on his side as the woman back away in confusion and another soldier brought something wrapped in a white blood-stained cloth.

The woman suddenly felt something get placed in her hand as she looked down to see what it was as she didn't know what to think. A despaired look suddenly covered her face as she looked up to the commander for an answer, but he remained silent. In haste she unwrapped the cloth a little to see what was inside as you tried to peek over and see what it was. When she unwrapped the cloth, she was greeted to the sight of a severed arm as she gasped and covered it instantly before beginning to weep tears and hug the limb close to her while she dropped to her knees.

"That was all we managed to retrieve." He said to the woman as she wept for the loss of her son while you and Eren stared over in shock as the commander knelt down with her.

"But my son...He helped, right?" The woman struggled to speak through her tears as the commander was stunned by her question. "Even if he didn't do anything directly...My son's death helped humanity fight back, right!?" She yelled out wanting to know if her son's death had any meaning as a strong gust of wind blew by before dying down as the commander tried to answer.

"Of course!" He answered first before rethinking and speaking the dark truth in his mind. "No. Our recon this time didn't...No, we never..." He trailed off before shutting his eyes as all the scouts had despaired looks on their faces as he shouted out for all to hear. "...Never learn a thing!" He screamed in regret as the woman had a destroyed look on her face hearing his words. "It's my fault...My own incompetence killed our men! And we still don't even know what they are!" He screamed through tears as everyone was shocked at the scene that was going down in front of them.

After witnessing what had happened, you looked around in desperation trying to find your father and sister among the scouts, and as you looked towards the rear end there you spotted the two of them riding horses in the back of the formation. You hopped off the box leaving Eren and Mikasa to run towards the end of the crowd they were by before you forced yourself through onto the road.

"Dad! Sarah!" You yelled out and ran towards them and they looked your way, recognizing your voice.

The first to spot you was your dad, Michael. He had short black hair with a fair skin tone as he wore his uniform with his green hood that had blood stains on it. On his left was your older sister, Sarah, with long brown hair tied up in a pony tail as she only sported the uniform and not the green hood for some unknown reason. When the two of them spotted you running they hopped off their horses and ran towards you as you noticed the looks on their faces, it was the look of horror and despair. Upon reaching you, they wrapped their arms around you and held you close to them while you heard them sniffling and breathing heavy as you held them close to you as well.

"I knew you'd come back." You said while burying your face into your father's shoulder as they remained silent and just held onto you preciously.

After reuniting with your father and sister, they told you to go back home and wait for them while they returned to base with the scouts before trying to get off duty. When they left, you went to return to Eren and Mikasa, but when you saw them Mikasa was dragging Eren off. You followed them up a road as Eren yelled trying to stop Mikasa.

"Mikasa, you can let go now!" Eren yelled while trying to get free.

Suddenly though, Mikasa used the arm she was holding Eren with and threw him towards a wall that was at the end of the path. Eren yelled as he crashed against the wall with his back and all the firewood in his carrier fell out as he tried to get up.

"What was that for? The firewood spilled everywhere!" Eren asked Mikasa as you caught up to them.

"What happened?" You asked Mikasa as she stared at Eren.

"Eren..." She started as he looked up at her. "...do you still want to join the Survey Corps?" Mikasa asked as Eren had a surprised look on his face at her question and they stared at each other for a few moments before he turned to pick up the firewood.

"Help me pick these up..." He said in a low tone while gathering the firewood.

"There isn't enough to bother." Mikasa said while walking over and crouching down to pick up the wood.

"H-Here, I'll help also..." You said while rushing over and grabbing a few sticks as well.

After helping them with the firewood, you walked with Eren and Mikasa back to the street yours and their house were on as you stood at the door and Eren opened up to enter first.

"We're back." He said while walking through the front door as the two of them entered first and you poked your head in.

"Excuse me..." You spoke as you saw Carla making food while at their dinner table was their father, Grisha Jaeger, a doctor that your family regularly goes to for check ups.

"Ah, Y/N, come in. I need to sort some firewood for you to give to your mother." Carla said as she walked over and grabbed a basket.

You walked in and waited by the door as Mikasa finished putting her collection of firewood away and when Eren dumped his load, Carla had an impressed look on her face.

"Oh, Eren! You actually worked hard for a change." Carla praised him as he turned away looking nervous.

"Y-Yeah..." He stuttered as Carla went and pulled on his ear as he winced and rubbed it. "W-What?" He asked as she had a look that said she knew what he did.

"Your ears turned red. That means you're lying. Mikasa helped you, didn't she?" She said with a smug look as you turned and chuckled into your hand while Eren turned red in embarrasment.

After collecting some firewood, you were standing at the front door of their home as Carla handed you the basket of firewood.

"Are you sure you don't want a quick meal before you go home? I'm sure there's enough for you as well." Carla said as you shook your head.

"No, thank you. I wanna eat with my family now that my Dad and Sarah are both home." You said as Carla just nodded at you.

"I understand. Give your father and sister my greetings." Carla said as she patted you on the head.

"Yeah." You nodded as you looked pass her and waved at Eren and Mikasa. "See you guys later!" You said as they both waved at you.

"See you!" Eren said as he and Mikasa sat down at the table for a meal as yoou waved at Mr.Jaeger.

"Have a good day, Dr.Jaeger!" You waved as he turned and raised his hand while nodding to you with a smile.

After saying your partings, you walked down their steps as the door closed behind you and made your way up the road a few houses down. Once you made it back home you opened the door and saw your mother cooking some meat that you were surprised to see.

"Ah! We're having meat!?" You said while shutting the door behind you as you ran up and looked at it with stars in your eyes.

"I was able to grab some from Mr.Akagi at his food stall today. He made a special day for us since he knew your father and sister were coming home." She said as you walked over to a small chest and stored the firewood away. "Honey, can you bring me the plates, please?" She asked as you nodded and grabbed four plates from a rack and set them aside for your Mom.

Just then, the sound of the front door opening caught both of your attention as you turned and saw your Dad and Sarah standing at the door. The two of you smiled as you ran over and hugged your father as he patted your head before turning back to your mother as she smiled and wiped a tear away.

"We're home." Your father said as your mother nodded.

"Yeah...Welcome home. Sarah..." Your mother said while glancing at your sister before looking at the father of her children. "...Michael..." She said as the love of her life had returned.

After changing into some regular clothes and putting their gear away, you and your mother both listened to the stories that they had to share about their comrades. While listening in with amazement, the work that Scouts did was slowly captivating you more and more with each story you heard. Your sister also talked about some of the strongest members of the Survey Corps, people like Captain Levi and a man named Erwin who that day was promoted to be the new commander of the Survey corps. After finishing the meal prepped by your mother though, Sarah leaned back in her chair and stretched her arms out while yawning.

"Ahhhhh~! I'm pooped..." She said while leaning her head back.

"I think I'm in need of some rest as well. It's been tough since we got back and it was a little more than we could handle outside..." Your father said as your mother took his plate.

"I'll clean up here. You two go on and rest." Your mother said as the two of them got up from their seats and made their way upstairs.

"I'm gonna go walk around for a bit." You said as you jumped out of your seat and made your way to the door.

"Don't be back too late!" Your mother yelled as you walked out the front door and closed it behind you.

You stretched your arms out above your head and groaned before sighing in relief and trying to think of something to do while your Dad and sister rested themselves. When you looked down the street back towards Eren's house, you saw his father walking off with a suit case heading somewhere you presumed was work related, and decided that you'd ask Eren if he'd wanna hang out. You jogged over to talk to them, but as you got closer, you heard his mother begin to scold Eren.

"I won't let you." Carla said as Eren turned towards her while Mikasa stood behind her in silence. "Joining the Survey Corps? Don't be stupid." She scolded him as he glared at her.

"Huh? Stupid!? I think people who're fine being cattle are way more stupid!" Eren yelled at his mother before running down an walkway between houses.

"Eren!" Carla tried calling out to him, but to no avail as you finally made it to their house.

"Is everything okay?" You asked as Carla noticed your appearance and turned around to face you and Mikasa as she placed her hands on both yours and Mikasa's shoulders with serious look.

"Y/N, Mikasa, sometimes he doesn't think things through. When you're in trouble, you must help one another." Carla said as you and Mikasa nodded.

"Okay." You and her both replied as you turned towards Mikasa. "Hey, let's go find him." You said as Carla moved out of your way and the two of you ran off to find Eren.

While running through the different paths of the town, you and Mikasa finally turned a corner and saw Eren running through a downhill path between homes, while in the distance something caught your attention. Down the path you noticed three kids pinning a blonde haired boy to the wall, looking like they were ganging up on him. You recognized the three aggressors as the neighborhood bullies, while the blonde haired boy you knew was Armin, someone who was physically outmatched against the bullies. This got you mad as you tried to run faster, but Mikasa was outrunning you easily and almost catching up to Eren. Just then, the bully Armin against the wall raised his fist to hit him, but Eren shouted out to them.

"Stop it!" Eren yelled as he caught the attention of the bullies as they turned his way.

"That's Eren!" One of the bullies said as they got cocky looks on their faces and readied to beat Eren up. "The fool's back." He mocked him.

"He wants to get his ass kicked?" The head of the three said with a smug look.

"Let's give him what he wants!" The last one said before raising a confused look and looking behind him where he saw you and Mikasa sprinting towards them with scary looks on your faces as they grew scared. "M-Mikasa and Y/N's here, too!" He said in fear.

"N-No...Let's get out of here!" The of the bullies said as they ran off somewhere else and Eren stopped in front of Armin while huffing air with an amused look.

"They ran away when they saw me!" Eren said with confidence as you and Mikasa slowed to a walk and stopped behind him.

"No, they ran when they saw Mikasa and Y/N." Armin said as he tried to stand, but stumbled back to his knees. "Ouch..." He winced as Eren turned towards him with worry.

"Hey, are you okay, Armin?" Eren asked while lending a hand towards him as Armin stared at it for a bit before looking down in embarrasment.

"I can stand on my own..." He said as he forced himself to his feet and Eren pulled away.

"All right." Eren replied as you looked over on the ground and saw a book that was open with the pages lying on the dirt.

After helping Armin clean up and spending time with the three of them, it was now the afternoon with the sun beginning to set as it turned more orange and made the district a bit dimmer. You were all hanging out by the river where ships are used to transport in and out of the inner walls as you listened to the reason why Armin was getting bullied this time.

"So I said that humanity should go out into the world someday. And they hit me and called me a heretic." He explained as you stood at the edge of the walkway and tossed a rock into the water.

"What jerks..." You said in irritation.

"Damn it." Eren scoffed as he sat on the edge and threw a rock into the river as well. "Why does everyone act like you're crazy if you want to go outside?" Eren spoke in frustration.

"Because staying within the walls has brought peace for a hundred years. They're afraid that if many of us venture out, we'll risk letting them in. So the royal government declared any interest in the outside world taboo." Armin explained as Eren had a irritated look.

"That's our lives we're risking, so it's our business!" Eren said as Mikasa suddenly barged in.

"You can't." Mikasa said as the three of you turned towards her while she spoke. "No." She simply told Eren.

"Come to think of it, why did you tell my parents?" Eren questioned her actions back at home as Mikasa didn't even glance his direction.

"I don't remember ever saying I'd help." Mikasa said as Armin turned to Eren.

"How'd it go?" He asked as Eren was a bit hesitant.

"Well...They weren't happy." He replied as Armin figured that would be the case for Eren's mom and then turned towards you. "What about you? Did you tell them?" He asked as you looked a bit conflicted also.

"I talked to them about it once, but my Dad and Sarah both insisted I don't join the military. They even looked a little mad when I told them I considered being a scout..." You said as Arming just nodded as it went how he expected also.

"But you're right. I wonder about those who think staying inside the walls will protect us forever." Armin said as you felt a breeze begin to blow throughout the town while listened to him. "Just because the walls haven't been breached in a hundred years doesn't mean they won't be breached today..." Armin finished as the wind suddenly died down and you found it odd that it went away so fast and abruptly.

As a few moments passed by, silence was all that you could hear through the area you were in, but without warning there was the sound of a huge explosion before a violent surge shook the ground beneath you all. It was so strong that it sent the four of you up into the air as you yelled and landed in the water of the river and the other three were tossed up and landed on the hard ground below them. After the shaking stopped, Mikasa rubbed her head before seeing you climb out of the water as she ran over and helped you up. You groaned as you walked over to Armin and Eren as everyone of you was confused.

"Thanks..." You thanked Mikasa as she supported you to stand.

"What was that?" Armin said in confusion.

"An explosion?" Eren tried to guess the cause of the rumble and loud noise as you heard commotion coming from the people around you.

"Over there!" You looked to see someone pointing towards the outer gate of the district.

"I think something fell from the sky!" Another person tried guessing the cause as people were rushing over to see the sight of where the event occurred, including Armin who ran off.

"Hey, Armin!" Eren yelled for him to come back, but had to chase after him.

"I'm okay, let's just go find Armin." You said as Mikasa let you go and the three of you ran off to find Armin.

After turning a few corners a ending up at a small clearing where people were gathered, you found Armin standing still looking at something with everyone else. The three of you ran over in worry and tried to get Armin's attention.

"What's wrong? What can you see?" Eren asked as the three of you stopped and looked in the direction everyone was looking and turned wide-eyed as you felt your heart sink to your stomach.

The sound of wind blowing through the air was all you could hear as everyone in Shiganshina stared towards the direction of the outer gate and looked at the top of the wall where something that should be there was located. At the top of the wall, a giant hand made of just red muscle tissue could be seen gripping the top of the wall as smoke rose from behind the stone barrier and the top of the wall cracked from the grip of the hand.

"No way...that wall..." Armin spoke in shock as you were all too stunned to say anything. "is fifty meters!" He said in disbelief of the height the hand was grabbing at.

"It's one of them..." Eren said in a horrified tone as a terrifying sight began to rise above the wall and cast a dark shadow over part of the district. "...A Titan!" He said as you were all staring at the face of a Titan that was unbelievably tall, you could call it Colossal.

Suddenly, the Titan began to lean forward for some reason as you were scared of what was about to happen, and just then there was a massive explosion at the front gate that blew a giant hole in the wall and sent pieces of it flying in the air everywhere. The force of the blast blew wind through the entire district and the shockwave obliterated hundreds of homes while creating more falling debris as people ran for their lives, while hundreds were crushed to death by pieces of the wall that once protected them. The massive Titan then crouched behind the wall and disappeared as smoke and fires erupted all through out Shiganshina as mass panic began to ensue.

"It broke...a hole in the wall..." Armin said as he collapsed to his knees as the people around slowly began to run away one at a time.

At the hole of the entrance, the sound of thundering footsteps could be heard coming closer and closer as the worst thing possible walked into the district, a fiften meter Titan. When its eyes landed on the tasty humans that it wanted to feed on, screaming filled the town as everyone ran away in terror.

"They're coming inside! The Titans are getting inside!" Was the most terrifying thing everyone heard as the day no one wished would come had finally descended upon them.

"We have to get out of here!" Armin said as he backed away a bit, but noticed Eren going the other direction. "Eren!" He called out to him as a horrified look befell covered Eren's face.

"My house is over there...My mom!" He said as he broke out into a sprint and Mikasa followed him after hearing what he said.

"Mom...Dad...Sarah...!" You broke out into a sprint as Armin watched the three of you go and the chaos was overtaking him completely.

"Guys!" He reached out for you, but stopped himself and lowered his arm as he trembled. "It's all over...The Titans are going to take the city!" He yelled as tears filled his eyes as this was the beginning of the end for Shiganshina.

The three of you were gasping and huffing as you ran as fast as you could to the street your houses were on. The terrible sights you were witnessing along the way almost made you vomit as there were people crushed under rocks and homes were annihilated with people running for their lives. As you were running, there was a woman with her child pulling at the clothes of a man who splattered by a rock as she cried trying to save him.

"Why...? Why is this happening...? Why!?" You thought as the three of you turned the corner and saw a terrible sight.

Running down the road you all lived on, you all gasped when you saw a huge rock had landed on and crushed Eren's house entirely. Eren and Mikasa ran even faster as they were scared of what could have happened.

"Mom!" Eren yelled in fear as he outran you both. "Mom!" He called for his mother as you all ran up to see Carla was pinned from her upper back to her feet under the house.

"Eren..." Carla looked up at her children weakly as they ran to the sides of her and went to try and lift the debris while you stood there conflicted on what to do.

You wanted to help them, but when you looked over to your house there was a bunch of holes in it and it looked to be crumbling. You torn for a moment, before turning and running off to your home.

"I'm sorry, Eren! I'm sorry!" You yelled as you broke out into a sprint to your home. "Mom! Dad!" You cried out as you ran towards your front door.

Just then, your sister burst out of the door in her Scouts uniform and gear while your father followed her out with your mother in his arms. Shock filled your face and you felt sick when you saw your mother was bleeding a lot from the head and her eyes were closed. You ran up to her with tears in your eyes.

"Mom!" You screamed as you grabbed her by her sleeve and tried to shake her to wake her up as she weakly opened her eyes.

"M-My dearest..." She said weakly as she tried to reach for you, but fell unconscious.

"Damn it...! Sarah! Take your mother and brother to the inner gate! There will be evacuation ships loading people to head into Wall Rose!" Your father said as he handed your mother over to Sarah.

"What are you going to do!?" She asked as the face your sister had looked like she was about to breakdown crying.

"Whatever I can..." Was all your father said before drawing his blades and zipping off using his ODM gear.

"W-Wait! Dad!" You called out to him, but to no avail as you turned to your sister. "Sarah! Please! You have to help Mrs. Jaeger! She's trapped under her house." You said as she had a conflicted look on her face.

She looked back and forth between her mother and Carla and couldn't think straight. Just then however, the sound of running came closer and closer as she turned to see one of the drunkards of the Garrison Corps, Hannes.

"Sarah!" He yelled as you and Sarah ran over towards him.

"Hannes! Please! You have to help Carla! She's pinned under her house and I can't help them and these two on my own!" Sarah said as tears were streaming down her eyes.

"Where's your father?" He asked.

"He went off toward the front lines!" Sarah screamed as the entire situation was taking a toll on her.

"All right...Okay! Get to the inner gate now! It's time I repay the Jaeger's back for everything they've done for me and and everyone!" He yelled as he ran off to help them.

"C'mon, Y/N!" Sarah called as you looked back towards Eren's house with worry. "Come on!" Sarah yelled as she moved your mother over her shoulder and grabbed you by the wrist before running off as Eren and his house were no longer in sight.

As the Titans roamed through the city, the people screamed in terror and rushed pass one another to head towards the inner gate as the sight of people getting eaten filled those who bared witness to it trauma that would never be cured. The Garrison did their best to coordinate the mass evacuation, but that too proved difficult with how many people they needed to evacuate to the other side of the wall. As crazy as things were, Sarah made it to the inner gate with you and your mother in tow as a Garrison officer took notice of her and came to help.

"H-Hey, are you okay!?" He asked as your sister dropped to her knees while huffing air in and out of her lungs.

"Take this woman...to the ships...she's not fatally wounded..." Sarah said as she handed your mother over to the soldier. "And take this boy...with her...please..." She said as she rested her hands on her knees.

"A-All right...come on, kid." The officer said as he took you by the hand, but you turned toward your sister.

"Sarah, wait! Come with us! Please!" You begged her as she had a saddened look.

"I wish I could, but I need to be here and help. You'll ride in with mom and follow them to the shelters." Sarah said as you shook your head while tears poured from your eyes. "I have to go find Dad. No matter what happens, I love you both." She said as she hugged you one last time before running off.

"Here, come on! Before this next boat fills up." The officer said as he carried your mother and you just followed him in silence.

After making clear through a crowd of people trying to board the ship leaving for Wall Rose, the officer was able to secure your safe travel on the boat as you and your mother were the first to board. The Garrison officer also found the time to wrap a piece of cloth around your mother's head before he left as you sat with your mother in your lap, silently praying for your father and sister to make it back. People boarded the ship in large groups as you didn't notice Armin and his grandfather had boarded among a huge group that was ushered towards the front of the ship. As you waited for the boat to leave, you looked up and saw Eren and Mikasa both being ushered on board by Hannes, but what you noticed was that Carla wasn't with them and Eren had a traumatized face. Judging by his look, your worst fear was confirmed for them and you gritted your teeth in frustration as you brought your hands to your head and clutched your hair tightly.

"This can't be happening...Mrs. Jaeger..." You thought as this day was going to be etched forever in your mind and Eren and Mikasa were sat next to, horrified at the loss of their mother.

Meanwhile, back on the other side of the wall, your sister joined the Garrison that were stationed at the inner gate as they readied the canons to hold off the Titans. As they scattered trying to help anyone they could and set their defenses, the head officer at that position yelled in frustration.

"Why are you just standing there?! Hurry!" He yelled at one of his officers before turning towards the team that was supposed to bring the ammo for the canons. "Where are those canon shells!?" He yelled as Sarah heard a loud noise come from the main road and turned to see a Titan knock down a stone structure and head down the road towards them.

"You better get your shit together here! They're not gonna stop!" Sarah yelled as the officer turned back towards his men.

"Hurry! They're right in front of us!" He yelled as people scrambled through the gate and his men loaded the canons with shells. "Hey, get outta the way before you get blasted to bits!" He yelled at Sarah as she zipped up to the top of a roof and waited for them to fire. "Fire!" The officer yelled as the first canon shell was fired.

As the thundering echo of the canon shouted through the air, its shell flew at great a great speed, but unfortunately went by the titan's head and hit a building on the side. They fired once more trying to take it down, but the canon's inaccurate aim resulted in a similar result, a miss.

"Are your eyes even open?!" Sarah yelled down at them.

"You fool...Where are you aiming?!" The Garrison officer yelled at his subordinate.

"B-But this thing doesn't have that kind of accuracy!" The canon shooter said in reply.

"Right now I don't give a crap! Just hurry up and load the next shell!" The head officer yelled in frustration as they rushed to load the canons again, but a strange noise from behind caught their attention as Sarah turned to see the gate was starting to lower.

The gate...It's closing!we need to retreat! We'll be left behind!" One soldier yelled while making a break for it.

"What the hell are they doing?!" Sarah thought in frustration as she zipped her way through the inner gate and ran where the lower mechanism was and found two soldiers shutting the gate and Hannes was trying to stop them.

"Don't close it yet! Wait a little more! Many people are still left in the city!" Hannes yelled at the soldiers inside.

"Who said to shut the gate?!" Sarah barged in with fury as the soldier in front of them held his ground.

"If they break through this gate, we'll lose more than a single city to the Titans! We'll lose the entire inner territory of this wall!" The soldier argued with them.

"That doesn't mean we can let these people die!" Hannes retorted as Sarah glared at the soldier lowering the gate.

"Get away from there, now—!" She was cut off when two soldiers grabbed her by the arms and stopped her. "What are you doing?! Let me go!" She demanded while struggling, but they held on tight as two more soldiers came to the door.

"Hurry and close the gate! The titans are coming!" They said at the door as the one in front of Hannes turned to the gate controller.

"Get that gate shut!" He yelled for them to hurry up.

"Don't do it!" Hannes tried to stop them, but got held back. "Hey!" He struggled with them, but something echoed through the air that wasn't canon fire.

Loud thudding noises could be heard coming from the inside of the district as everyone stopped what they were doing to listen. The thudding noises came one after the other as Sarah didn't like the noise she was hearing and used this chance to break away and head back to see what it was. As she ran back to the Garrison canon team, from the air your father landed and dropped to his knees as she ran to aid him.

"Dad!" She yelled in worry as everyone else was too confused on the noises they were hearing.

"Sarah...You have to listen to me..." He spoke as blood trailed from the top of his head and pooled around his eyes. "Something's coming, and it's something we probably can't stop with our blades-Ngh!" He winced in pain as your sister had a scared look.

"What are talking about?! What's coming?!" She asked as your father grabbed her by shoulders and looked her eye to eye.

"You have to leave this place. Leave and live with your mother and brother! They need you! Promise me you'll live on!" He said as she began to have tears pour down her face. "Go...GO!" He yelled as he pushed her away.

Just then, the thundering noise and ground shaking came closer and closer until something appeared down the main road that no one could believe what they were seeing. Stopping at the main road to stare towards the inner gate, a Fifteen Meter Titan that was made up of red muscle tissue and covered in hardened material that couldn't visibly be identified and glowing bright eyes with short blonde hair. Sarah stared in confusion and shock as your father drew his final blades and turned his head back to her.

"GO!" He yelled as she watched the mystery Titan suddenly change its stance and get into a charging position. "GO!!!!" He yelled as she gritted her teeth and turned the other way to break out into a full blown sprint, as the Titan did as well, charging towards the gate.

"What...is that thing?" The officer muttered in terror whole watching it charge towards them.

"FIRE!!" Your dad yelled as his order shook the Officer back into thinking straight.

"FIRE!!!" He yelled as the canons let loose their shells all together.

Flying towards the charging Titan, the first shell made contact and exploded against its hard skin, but it was too tough as its speed didn't decrease at all. After being hit by a shell and it blowing off its skin that was like armor, the Titan seemed to speed up with more thundering stomps trampling the ground below it.

"It's not working!" A soldier said as the Garrison was fully terrified.

"Dammit all!" Your father yelled while using the last of his gas to fly towards the Titan at full speed as Sarah made it passed the gate and stood on the side to turn and look back.

"WHAT IS THAT THING?!" A soldier yelled as the Garrison turned to flee while your father yelled in rage.

"YOU...YOU...!" He glared at it while gripping his blades tightly. "JUST WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?!?" He yelled while going towards its face to stab it in the eyes.

Jus before he could reach it however, the Titan grabbed him midair and moved his hand to go through a row of houses. Sarah watched in horror as your father was bring dragged through house after house before hitting a stone structure as red mist flew through the air.

"DADDY!!!" She yelled in terror as the Garrison officer yelled in fear.

"IT'S COMING!!!! RUN!!!" He yelled as he and his men ran as fast as they could. "THE TITAN'S COMING! IT'S GOING TO RAM THE WALL!!! HURRY!!! CLOSE THE GATE!!!!!" He yelled as people ran for their lives and Hannes was able to grab Sarah pull her away from the gate.

The Titan charger exhausted copious amounts of steam from its mouth and nostrils whole running and used it shoulder to make contact with the gate. In less than a moment and in one shot, the gate was completely blown open and people were sent flying into the air. Hannes held onto Sarah as they covered behind a column of the wall that was sticking out as gusts of wind blew in all directions. The Titan held its posture and slid across the ground as it slid more than ten meters away from the gate and stopped on one knee as silence slowly filled the air and all that was left of the gate was a huge gaping hole. Hannes pulled Sarah out and set her on the ground next to some of the other members of the Garrison as they stared in disbelief of the destruction of the gate.

"The gate..." Was all Hannes could mutter as Sarah could only stare wide-eyed at the monster that killed her father and destroyed their home while it exhaled steam before standing straight up.

As the Titan that broke the inner gate stood there menacingly, all that humanity could do was watch as the land they once called home was now destroyed and taken by the titans. From the ship, you and everyone else around stood in silence and shock as after a hundred years of peace, Wall Maria has fallen and humanity has been dealt a devastating blow.

A/N: Here it is, the first chapter of my revision for "Thrown Into The Grinder" Attack on Titan story. I feel a lot better at the way this looks and I was able to implement the changes that I wanted for this story.
