Feels like summer, not winter outside

One day only, hot weather ride

Sitting on deck, no coat today

Soaking up warmth from sun's strong rays

Birds skip feeder, prefer bug chase

Wind sock flapping at noisy pace

Pine tree dances with gusty breeze

Woodpecker taps, echo from trees

Motorcycle roars with deep thrum

Little boy marches, beats his drum

Kiddies shout running all around

Laugh while watching little feet pound

Chores not done to enjoy hot sun

Future cold winds will end our fun

Tomorrow starts five days of rain

Hoping inches of water drain

So for today I'll watch trees dance

Happy for a summer advance

Soak up warm winds that blast my face

Enjoy a day of summer pace
